Jake Libby just didn't get his bat down the right line and Robinson has knocked his off stump out of the ground.

What a start for the visitors.

Tomorrow looks set to be a lovely day with plenty of sunshine across the country.

There is a little rain around on the radar for Saturday but let's hope that moves off somewhere else by the time we get to day four.

    Worcs v Sussex (10:30 BST)

Worcs may be resigned to their fate in Division Two next season but retain their spirit judged on last week where they battled to a draw at Durham then beat Hants to the Metro Bank One Day Cup trophy.

This week’s rivals Sussex look safe in fifth currently sitting 10 points above Durham in the final relegation spot.

Last week’s draw with Yorkshire all but secured their safety with just five points needed to book another top flight campaign.

It has been a bumpy return to Division One for Paul Farbrace’s side with three wins in the opening block of Championship fixtures which saw them in the top three by the end of May but since victories have proved far harder to come by with four draws and two defeats.

Yorkshire have not played at Headingley since the first week of May when beaten by Warwickshire with nine matches since either away or at Scarborough and York.

And they will be hoping home comforts provide the boost to performance needed to post a third win in their last six matches and ease clear of the relegation scrap.

With a six point break to today’s rivals Durham in second last spot, Anthony McGrath’s side have the draw as their weapon in order to ensure safety.

For Durham nothing short of victory will guarantee safety although bonus point draw could be enough to get past Hants who face triple champions in Surrey who are still in the title race.

Durham have not had the winning feeling since May, ironically when beating champions elect Notts by seven wickets.

India leg spinner Rahul Chahar debuts for Surrey

Surrey have won the County Championship title for the last three seasons but are facing up to the prospect of missing out this time going into a tense final round.

Hampshire may be the opposition lined up in front of them at the Utilita Bowl but Nottinghamshire’s match against Warwickshire will be where the focus is given they trail Peter Moores’s outfit by 14 points this morning.

Surrey need to win here first and foremost and hope Notts accrue fewer than 11 points in their own match at Trent Bridge.

And Surrey will be doing it without a host of big names with their England players all missing as well as Ashes bound Will Jacks, Cam Steel (injured) and Jordan Clark (illness) ruled out.

India leg-spinner Rahul Chahar comes in for the final match with 87 Ranji Trophy wickets under his belt.

Hampshire will be rightly nervous facing a title chasing Surrey and sitting just two points above Durham in the final relegation spot.

Leading wicket taker Kyle Abbott admits it is a new situation for the club to find itself in but says they must grasp the opportunity to stay in Division One.

“The last couple of years we have been looking up so to be here looking down and around us in a relegation battle is not ideal and we only have ourselves to blame.

"In terms of this game a high scoring draw would probably see us safe or obviously a win."

  17. Essex fight to stay at top table and Somerset choose to bat firstpublished at 10:25 BST 24 September

    Essex v Somerset

Somerset win the toss and put the hosts in to bat.

Essex will need at least a draw at home against Somerset for guaranteed retention in Division One.

They are sixth in the table on 150 points, just 10 ahead of ninth-placed Durham, who could still overtake them, should the latter beat Yorkshire at Leeds.

Somerset are third on 175 points.

The Championship trophy is out of reach after their drawn game in the last match against Hampshire, plus a four-point deduction from an independent panel, who ruled a pitch used in a home fixture v Durham in July was ruled “below average.”

The visitors will be without Tom Abell, who sustained a concussion injury during that Hampshire match.

Alfie Ogborne has an injured back, and JT Langridge is recovering from a side injury.

Nonetheless, they still boast a strong squad packed with all rounders Lewis Gregory (captain), Kasey Aldridge and keeper-batter James Rew.

Seam bowler Jake Ball comes into the XI.

    Essex field an unchanged XI.

  18. Notts bowl first and going for goldpublished at 10:22 BST 24 September

    Notts v Warwicks

The coin has landed in home skipper Haseeb Hameed's favour and the hosts will bowl first at Trent Bridge.

Notts are top of the table after a nerve-shredding 20-run victory against Surrey at the Oval last week.

They lead their London-based rivals by 14 points.

A win at home against the Bears would guarantee a first Championship trophy since 2010 and their seventh overall – but a draw plus four bonus points would be enough.

The latter scenario would leave Notts on 210 points.

Subsequently, even if Surrey beat Hampshire heavily to yield maximum points, that would leave them level on 210 at best.

But Notts would break the tie because they already have six wins to Surrey’s four this season.

Notts will be without pace bowler Josh Tongue for this round.

The Notts and England fast bowler is rested after his match haul of 8-143 in the victory at the Oval – and hopefully for him even greater glory with the England Ashes squad this winter.

Muhammad Abbas is back in the XI after a back injury.

Warwickshire are fourth on 168 points and will likely remain in the top half of the table regardless of the result in this match.

They may yet snatch third place with a win here and a Somerset defeat at Chelmsford.

Leg spinner Taz Ali comes into the Warwickshire XI in place of Olly Hannon-Dalby.

  19. Leics victory parade as Chris Wright bows outpublished at 10:22 BST 24 September

    Northants v Leics

What a curtain call for Leicester's veteran bowler Chris Wright.

He plays his final county game in a career spanning more than 400 games in all formats safe in the knowledge that his club are already Division Two champions.

Wright announced his retirement prior to the title-confirming draw at home against Kent, leaving them as runaway leaders on 218 points - 29 ahead of second-placed Glamorgan.

The visitors face a depleted Northants, who are second from bottom in the table. Their captain Luke Procter, plus senior players Ben Sanderson and Ricardo Vasconcelos are all absent to injury.

Keeper Lewis McManus takes on the captaincy of a youthful squad that includes first class debuts for rookie players Arush Buchake and Stuart Van der Merwe.

Middle order batter George Bartlett and pace bowler George Scrimshaw come into the XI.

Leicestershire are without Shan Masood, who has returned to Pakistan and have rested leg spinning all-rounder Rehan Ahmed.

Left arm spinner Liam Trevaskis is back in the XI and batter Jonny Tattersall makes his Leicester debut.

  20. Division Two tablepublished at 10:21 BST 24 September

    #bbccricket

    Division Two table

In Division Two, Leicestershire head into the final round knowing the title - and a return to Division One for the first time in 22 years - is already assured.

The Foxes' star all-rounder Rehan Ahmed, who has struck five Championship centuries in a breakout summer with the bat, was not born when they were last in the top-flight.

Leicestershire make the short trip to Northamptonshire to round out their season while Glamorgan, who under head coach Richard Dawson have secured their place in Division One for the first time since 2004, will host Lancashire at Sophia Gardens.

Kent welcome Derbyshire to the Spitfire Ground in Canterbury while Middlesex host Gloucestershire at Lord's.
