  1. Postpublished at 16:26 BST

    Notts v Warwicks 139-5

Single to Ed Barnard. Dan Mousley is down the track to Mo Abbas to try and hit to mid on but squirts the ball away to mid off.

Mousley misses out on puling a short ball and also drives at a wider ball without timing it.

Dillon Pennington will bowl at the other end.

  2. Final session of Day One starts at Trent Bridgepublished at 16:23 BST

    Notts v Warwicks 138-5

Ed Barnard faces Muhammad Abbas on eight not out.

it is a bit gloomy here and this may be a slightly truncated session.

Dan Mousley has a single at the other end.

  3. 50 runs

for James Rewpublished at 16:21 BST

    Essex v Somerset 244-4

Matt Critchley bowls to James Rew, who drives but hasn't timed it.

The next ball is tossed up and pushed away for one to bring up the half century.

    89 balls with five fours.

His eighth score of 50 or more this summer. He also has three centuries this season.

  4. Postpublished at 16:19 BST

    Essex v Somerset 243-4

A bit of width from Noah Thain and Lewis Goldsworthy lets it go outside his off stump.

The last ball is short, wide and hammered through the off side for four.

James Rew faces next, unbeaten on 49.

  5. 200 runs

100 for Luis Reecepublished at 16:17 BST

    Kent v Derbyshire 289-2

A first century of the campaign for Luis Reece as Derbyshire approach 300 for the loss of two wickets against Kent.

  6. 100 runs

100 for Stephen Eskinazipublished at 16:17 BST

    Northants v Leics 303-6

Width from Stuart van der Merwe, nudged away to deep third for the precious single.

He's done it! 168 balls with a dozen fours plus a six.

His first century this season - and indeed his first at this level for Leicestershire.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16:16 BST

    Clark lbw b Thompson 27 (Yorks v Durham 203-6)

Graham Clark is clearly thinking that was missing leg as it was angled across as it hits his pad but replays show that was probably hitting some part of leg stump.

Whatever, it is a second bowling point for Yorks which puts another slim layer between them and Durham (or until the visitors reach 250 that is).

  8. Leicestershire pass 300 at Wantage Roadpublished at 16:15 BST

    Northants v Leics 301-6

The Division Two champions advance to 300 in the 80th over with a clip to long leg by Stephen Eskinazi off the bowling of Stuart van der Merwe.

A single from Liam Trevaskis brings Eskinazi back on strike, 99 not out.

  9. Glamorgan lose ninth wicketpublished at 16:12 BST

    Glamorgan 260-9 v Lancashire

Mason Crane looked to be making his way towards 50 but he has fallen eight runs short after being bowled by Tom Bailey who now has four for the match.

One more wicket for Lancashire and their openers will be getting ready to put their pads on.

  10. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 16:03 BST

    Notts v Warwicks 138-5

One more wicket brings a second bowling point for Notts, who would only need three more points at that stage to wrap up the Championship trophy.

A third bowling point plus 300 runs in 110 overs in their first innings would be enough.

Dillon Pennington is driven firmly down the ground by Ed Barnard for four, though the bowler did get a hand to it.

He opts for a late leave off the second ball.

The fifth ball is clipped leg side for one and a wider sixth ball is left alone to see out the session.

Another very good passage of play for Notts, who broke through some firm top order resistance and subsequently removed Sam Hain and Zen Malik in quick succession.

  11. Tea at New Roadpublished at 16:02 BST

    Worcs 123 v Sussex 157-4

From a position of some peril at 67-4, Sussex have grabbed this day by the scruff of its neck with John Simpson and James Coles rattling along to a 90 run partnership.

Worcs have not bowled with any great direction with Ben Allison, Ben Gibbon and Ethan Brookes all going at over a run a ball.

The first named has at least caused some damage with 3-50 but it has been loose from Worcs with bat and ball over the two sessions.

  12. 50 runs

50 for Wayne Madsenpublished at 16:01 BST

    Kent v Derbyshire 262-2

Wayne Madsen becomes the third Derbyshire batter of the innings to reach a half-century.

It came off 81 balls in 94 minutes.

Aneurin Donald made 55 earlier and Luis Reece is five runs away from a first century of the campaign.

  13. 1,000 for the season for Colespublished at 15:59 BST

    Worcs 123 v Sussex 157-4

James Coles pulls Matthew Waite for four to bring up a half century in 55 balls and also his 1,000 for the season.

He follows it up with another boundary although not quite where he intended given he was looking straighter and it sneaks to the backward point rope.

  14. Rew passes 1000 runs for the seasonpublished at 15:54 BST

    Essex v Somerset 211-4

James Rew is 42 not out and has passed the 1000-run mark for Somerset this season in this innings.

He is also eight runs away from his eighth score of 50 or more in a fine season in which he has scored three centuries.

Plenty of time for that 50 landmark. 30 overs left tonight.

  15. 'Very good day for Hampshire against flat Surrey'published at 15:54 BST

    Hants 44-1 v Surrey 147

    Michael Carberry
Former England batter on BBC Radio Solent

It's been a very good day for Hampshire.

If you'd offered them this at the start of the day, they would have chewed your hand off.

Surrey have looked very flat out there.

  16. 'Notts getting closer'published at 15:50 BST

    Notts v Warwicks 127-5

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

A little bit of extra bounce does for Malik.

It was a promising start from the SACA graduate, but this is all part of the learning process at county level for him.

    Notts are getting themselves closer.

  17. Tea at the Utilita Bowlpublished at 15:50 BST

    Hants 44-1 v Surrey 147

Hants will be pleased enough with a positive start to their chase of Surrey's under-par total at a cost of just one wicket even if Ali Orr will be still simmering about his dismissal.

Nick Gubbins is yet to score with Fletcha Middleton on 11.

  18. Postpublished at 15:49 BST

    Worcs 123 v Sussex 134-4

Ben Gibbons has proved a little too expensive to warrant more than three overs going for 0-25 and is replaced by Ethan Brookes.

But Gibbons could be back on soon enough if his first four balls are anything to go by as John Simpson bookends two singles off back to back fours on his first four deliveries.

  19. Play resumes at Chelmsfordpublished at 15:48 BST

    Essex v Somerset 211-4

James Rew will face leg spinner Matt Critchley first up on 42 not out.

He's added 27 runs with Lewis Goldsworthy, who has 11.

  20. Coles should be 'inked in for Lions tour'published at 15:45 BST

Not for the first time this season James Coles and John Simpson are leading the Sussex revival.

Both are closing in on 1000 runs for the season and in the case of Coles he must be inked in for the Lions trip to Australia.

This pair have now passed the 50 partnership and on a day of 14 wickets to far have made batting look comfortable.
