Heather Knight is off the mark with a boundary first ball.

Slightly too wide from Lea Tahuhu and the former England skipper just guides the ball down to the deep third boundary.

Amy Jones has to know that is hitting middle of middle and she needs to be strong enough to say that is out.

'As straight as straight can be' - Tahuhu dismisses Beaumont lbw for 40

Gone. Hitting middle and off halfway up.

A very odd review because I think even Tammy Beaumont knew it was out.

Good bowling from Lea Tahuhu, though. Full and straight, keeping the stumps in play and at a good pace.

Perhaps it nipped back just a fraction and Beaumont was plumb.

If Tammy Beaumont does not have bat on that, she looks to be gone. She is referring it without confidence.

    Eng 75-0

Tammy Beaumont is given out lbw and, despite a review, I think she's in trouble.

She got a big stride in to the full ball from Lea Tahuhu but it looked pretty adjacent.

This is now England’s highest opening stand so far in the tournament - no team has passed 50 more often than their four occasions.

On the other end of the scale are New Zealand who’s best opening stand is just 35, with an average opening partnership of just 11 - no side has had a worse opening pair in the tournament.

    Eng 74-0published at 14 overs

    Target 169

Two boundaries early in the over so England are happy just to milk singles from the next four.

Drinks come on with the required rate down to just 2.63.

England would have to go some not to win from here but should remember New Zealand were 89-1 before collapsing in their innings.

Both Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones have a superb head-to-head record with New Zealand wrist spinner Amelia Kerr in ODI cricket.

As a pair they have faced 262 deliveries from A.Kerr, scoring 200 runs with just two dismissals.

    Lovely shot.

Overpitched by Melie Kerr and Tammy Beaumont middles the ball through the covers for four.

Four more! Dragged down this time and Beaumont thumps it behind square on the leg side and, despite a good diving effort in the deep, the ball hits the boundary sponge.

Lea Tahuhu is into the attack and her added pace sees her beat Tammy Beaumont, who was trying to cut a ball that was much too straight for that shot.

Four from the over, two of which come from leg-side wides as Tahuhu loses her radar.

  11. Eng 58-0published at 12 overs

    Target 169

No real surprise to see Amy Jones targeting the leg side but her commitment to doing so is shown in this over against Melie Kerr.

A very slow, loopy delivery from the leggie is well wide of off stump but almost the moment the ball was released, Jones was getting across her stumps and sweeps to leg for one.

Had she stayed where she was, I fancy she could have thrashed it through the covers.

The start of the tournament was really tricky for openers but Amy Jones and Tammy Beaumont are finding some form at a very convenient time.

  13. Eng 55-0published at 11 overs

A wide, a couple of singles and another full toss that doesn't find its way to the boundary complete Sophie Devine's over.

The latter did at least bring two as Tammy Beaumont got the ball into gap between the two fielders sweeping on the leg side.

  14. Eng 50-0published at 10.1 overs

    Target 169

Another big lbw appeal from New Zealand as Tammy Beaumont plays all around a ball arrowed in at the stumps.

No review this time, it might have been sliding just down leg.

That boundary is the only scoring shot in the over as the last ball sneaks down leg but isn't called wide...?

Amy Jones must have got something on it. Presumably pad because there was no excitement from New Zealand about a potential caught behind chance.

This is Amy Jones and Tammy Beaumont's fourth 50-run opening partnership in this World Cup.

  17. Eng 50-0published at 9.3 overs

Amy Jones brings up the fifty partnership with a boundary.

Just enough elevation on the shot as she hits Melie Kerr over mid-on for four.

  18. Eng 46-0published at 9 overs

    Target 169

For the umpteenth time today a bowler gets away with a full toss.

Just below waist height from Sophie Devine, Amy Jones swings it away through square leg but finds the fielder in the deep.

One over left in the powerplay and England are cruising so far.

  19. Eng 45-0published at 8.3 overs

    Target 169

    Lovely shot.

Angled in to the right-hander from Sophie Devine and Amy Jones is waiting for it.

She gets her front leg out of the way and hits comfortably over mid-on for four.

  20. Eng 41-0published at 8 overs

    Target 169

Review wasted but otherwise a good over from Melie Kerr.

She gets away with a slightly short ball that Amy Jones pulls leg side as the fielder in the deep gets round to keep it to a single.

Tammy Beaumont nails a drive to end the over but it's a dot ball thanks to an excellent diving stop in the covers.
