  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 6 April

    Bamber c Hudson-Prentice b Robinson 17 (Warks 251-5 v Sussex 528)

The worst delivery of the day gets a wicket.

Ollie Robinson delivers a waist-high full toss and Ethan Bamber clobbers it to Fynn Hudson-Prentice at mid-wicket.

Ed Barnard is in for the home side who are under pressure.

  2. 250 runs

250 up for Warwickshirepublished at 11:38 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warks 250-4 Sussex 528

A first batting point for the home side but they are teetering on the edge.

The 250th run is also far from convincing as Ethan Bamber gets an inside edge past his stumps.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 6 April

    Ahmed c Gay b Potts 17 (Notts 319-6 v Durham 378)

Farhan Ahmed's useful 33-ball knock is done and dusted.

It's a super piece of bowling by Matthew Potts with good pace to take the outside edge of Ahmed's push.

It flies to Emilio Gay at third slip who takes his second catch of the innings.

The young spinner did his job and put on 31 with Matt Montgomery. Lyndon James strolls to the crease.

  4. Postpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 6 April

    Notts 318-5 v Durham 378

Notts have looked comfortable so far this morning and the refreshed Durham bowlers have posed no big threat so far this morning with a second new ball that is only 14 overs old.

Matt Montgomery turns Ben Raine to backward square leg for a single and then Farhan Ahmed's overnight vigil continues.

He steers Raine away but is denied a four by Graham Clark's good stop on the long leg boundary rope. The last man is up to 17.

    Notts are 60 behind.

  5. Postpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 6 April

    Essex 582-6d v Surrey 136-2

Jamie Smith has got himself to 17 not out from 17 balls - the game could advance quickly if he stays out there.

Still a long way to go for the champions though.

  6. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warks v Sussex 528

    Well, kind of.

Ethan Bamber pulls in the air, could be a catch, could be six - the fielder gets his hands to it but his momentum is going to carry him over the boundary so he throws the ball back in but there's no-one there to complete the relay catch.

    They take a single.

Danny Lamb is the man out there with the acrobatics and Ollie Robinson is the bowler watching on - technically that's the second drop off him this morning.

    It's lively at Edgbaston.

How about that for making an immediate impact.

Keith Dudgeon wraps up Kent's first Championship win of the season by bowling Raphael Weatherall for career-best figures of 7-36.

It's match figures of 8-69 for the South African and head coach Adam Hollioake must be delighted with his newest acquisition.

George Bartlett is left 60 not out but it's a sobering start for Northants, leaving new head coach Darren Lehmann with plenty to ponder.

  8. 'Yates was a little unsure'published at 11:29 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warks 239-4 v Sussex 528

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

It was like Rob Yates wasn't sure whether to play at it. It's a good start to the season, 115 for him but Warwickshire are still a long way behind.

They have to be a little bit careful here and guard against the complacency when runs are being scored.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:27 British Summer Time 6 April

    Guthrie b Dudgeon 0 (Northants 114-9 - target 260)

Almost done and dusted at Wantage Road.

Keith Dudgeon's inswing is too much for Liam Guthrie and the South African now has 6-36.

  10. Latest from Derbypublished at 11:27 British Summer Time 6 April

    Derbys 391 v Glos 222 & 135-3

Slow going by Gloucestershire this morning - just seven runs added from six and a bit overs so far.

Ben Charlesworth has yet to add to his overnight 77 not out, while James Bracey has nine.

This is a key partnership for the visitors.

  11. Postpublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 6 April

    Essex 582-6d v Surrey 127-2

Essex want Rory Burns LBW as they beg, implore, demand the umpire gives him out.

A small shake of the head.

This is the time for Essex to strike as you would think batting will just get easier and easier.

  12. Postpublished at 11:23 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warks 239-4 v Sussex 528

It's all happening at Edgbaston - a wicket, a dropped catch and now Ethan Bamber lobs the ball up in the on-side but it falls between two fielders.

    Sussex are right on top.

  13. wicket

WICKET and Somerset declarepublished at 149.4 overs

    Banton c Roderick b Hinley 371 (Somerset 670-7dec v Worcs 154)

After 401 balls, Tom Banton's mammoth innings is done for 371 and Somerset declare 516 runs ahead.

He wasn't there to stick around this morning and rocks back to cut Tom Hinley through extra cover. Instead he gets a fine tickle through to wicketkeeper Gareth Roderick.

Skip Lewis Gregory joins him on the walk back to the pavilion, along with the Pears players who dash over to give Banton a sporting pat of congratulations.

  14. Five-wicket haul for Keith Dudgeonpublished at 11:22 British Summer Time 6 April

    Leech c Finch b Dudgeon 0 (Northants 112-8 - target 260)

    Well bowled, Keith Dudgeon.

A lifting delivery is too rapid for Dom Leech and the ball loops up off the splice to Harry Finch.

    That's one way to shift a tail-ender.

  15. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warks 238-4 Sussex 528

How big a miss is that?

Ollie Robinson has Dan Mousley edging straight to Tom Alsop in the slips but it's in the hands and out again.

Should have been taken - Ollie Robinson tries very hard to hide his, shall we say, disappointment...

  16. 'It's cracking to see Essex attack'published at 11:20 British Summer Time 6 April

    Essex 582-6d v Surrey 121-2

    Don Topley
    BBC Essex

It was well bowled from Jamie Porter and it just shows, Ollie Pope England cricketer, but you are vulnerable when you start again and he obviously got quite a good delivery there.

From my point of view it's cracking to see Essex attack.

Pope will be a little bit disappointed and Essex have got to make it count.

  17. Second batting point for Nottspublished at 11:19 British Summer Time 6 April

    Notts 309-5 v Durham 378

Farhan Ahmed picks up three off Matthew Potts' second over of the day to take Notts past 300 and give them a second batting point.

Matt Montgomery steers Ben Raine away for the first boundary of the morning to take the deficit down to 69.

    Good start from the hosts.

  18. Postpublished at 11:19 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warks 238-4 v Sussex 528

Nightwatchman Ethan Bamber swipes Jack Carson to the boundary for his third four of the morning.

He is having quite the debut, four wickets, was on a hat-trick and now trying to help his side to safety with the bat.

  19. 200 runs

200 up for Yorkshirepublished at 11:19 British Summer Time 6 April

    Hants 249 v Yorks 121 & 201-6

Sonny Baker opened up with Kyle Abbott for Hampshire but neither has been able to make a breakthrough thus far.

A single each for Adam Lyth and Ben Cliff off Abbott's latest over take the Yorkshire total past 200 and the lead is 73.

  20. Leicestershire all outpublished at 11:17 British Summer Time 6 April

    Glamorgan 229 v Leics 427

Andy Gorvin ends Leicestershire's first innings as he bowls Chris Wright for 74 - foiling his hopes of bettering his highest first-class score of 87.

Gorvin's final figures are 4-51 and it means Sri Lankan Asitha Fernando (4-71) will not mark his Glamorgan debut with a five-for.
