  1. Lunch at Edgbastonpublished at 13:01 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warks 320-5 v Sussex 528

A good morning for Sussex but it could have been better.

They removed centurion Rob Yates and nightwatchman Ethan Bamber but may well rue dropping Dan Mousley before he had scored.

The England man and Ed Barnard have repaired some of the damage with an unbroken 69-run stand.

  2. 50 runs

The landmarks are coming thick and fast at Trent Bridge.

Lyndon James has played very nicely this morning and swiftly follows his partner to fifty with a push into the offside and an easy single.

He's brought up his 14th first-class half-century off just 54 balls with eight fours.

Plenty of intent. Durham need the break.

  3. Postpublished at 12:54 British Summer Time 6 April

    Hants 249 v Yorks 121 & 253-8

Hampshire turn the screw by calling up spinner Liam Dawson for a brief pre-lunch spell.

Can he tempt Ben Coad or Adam Lyth into an indiscretion?

Yorkshire's lead is 125 and Coad gets solidly behind everything to block out a maiden.

  4. new ball

New ballpublished at 12:54 British Summer Time 6 April

    Notts 403-6 v Durham 378

Matt Montgomery reverse sweep off George Drissell takes Notts past 400.

It's come three overs too late for a fourth batting point, but the lead is building nicely and up to 25 already.

Matt Montgomery drives through the offside to bring up an important half-century for his side.

He was dropped on four but has made the most of his early escape by completing his fourth red-ball fifty. It's come off a patient 114 balls and has put Notts on a good position.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 6 April

    Patel c Pepper b Harmer 2 (Essex 582-6d v Surrey 180-6)

    He's done it again!

It kind of looks like Ryan Patel is trying to leave that ball alone but it turns a little and brushes his bat with Michael Pepper doing the rest.

The complexion of this game has completely changed.

  9. 'That is a big wicket'published at 12:47 British Summer Time 6 April

    Somerset 670-7 dec v Worcs 154 & 43-2

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

That is a big wicket in the context of the game.

Absolutely plum in front, pushing forward, missed it and Jake Libby is gone.

  10. Division Two updatepublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 6 April

A big blow for Glamorgan as Colin Ingram edges Ben Green to the wicketkeeper and is gone for just four. They are 35-4 and need another 163 to make Leicestershire bat again.

Derbyshire strike again and this time it's the big wicket of Ben Charlesworth, who is caught off Luis Reece for 110. He faced 191 balls and hit 18 fours, but Gloucestershire are 195-6, just 26 in front.

Middlesex have passed 50 in their second innings against Lancashire, having been 7-3 at one stage. Max Holden is 21 not out, Ryan Higgins has 20 and they are 48 behind against Lancashire.

  11. Nottinghamshire move into first innings leadpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 6 April

    Notts 380-6 v Durham 378

Matt Montgomery's sixth four takes Nottinghamshire past Durham's first innings total and into a slender lead with four wickets still intact.

  12. Postpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warks 310-5 v Sussex 528

We are two overs from the new ball for Sussex.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice is bowling with wicketkeeper John Simpson standing up to the stumps and only one slip.

Dan Mousley flicks the ball to the square-leg boundary.

  13. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 12:42 British Summer Time 6 April

    Hants 249 v Yorks 121 & 245-8

That's an easier chance than the one he caught earlier, but Tom Prest fails to hang onto the ball by his right knee at second slip and Ben Coad is reprieved. Brad Wheal will have to wait, if he is complete a five-for.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 6 April

    Libby lbw b Leach 16 (Somerset 670-7 dec v Worcs 154 & 40-2)

    There's another!

Jack Leach is up and running as Jake Libby's 47-ball stay is done.

It doesn't turn much but beats Libby's forward defensive prod and thuds into his front pad. Hitting middle and leg.

Ethan Brookes joins Kashif Ali and both openers are in the hutch before lunch.

  15. 50 runs

    50 partnershippublished at 109 overs

    Notts 373-6 v Durham 378

Will Rhodes joins the Durham attack and Lyndon James crunches the final ball of his opener through the offside for his seventh four.

It brings up the 50 partnership off 87 balls.

James made 38 of those fifty and has played very nicely.

He's already caught up his more circumspect batting partner, taking 45 balls to reach his 38. Matt Montgomery has chewed up 104 balls.

  16. 'Lyth will find it tougher now'published at 12:38 British Summer Time 6 April

    Hants 249 v Yorks 121 & 245-8

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

What's interesting now is that Adam Lyth will find it tougher because an end has opened up.

Hampshire can manoeuvre the field and just try and either keep him off strike or try and make him play a little differently, which he may have to start thinking about.

  17. Postpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 6 April

    Essex 582-6d v Surrey 178-5

Hands on heads around the Essex field.

Sam Cook's first ball keeps low and Ben Foakes jabs his bat down on it.

It catches the toe of the bat and bounces up and over his stumps - that was close.

  18. 'It was a very good delivery from Abbott'published at 12:35 British Summer Time 6 April

    Hants 249 v Yorks 121 & 240-8

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

Dom Bess' feet have gone nowhere really, he's not able to get to the pitch and you've just got to congratulate the bowler.

That's a very good delivery from Kyle Abbott.

  19. Postpublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 6 April

    Essex 582-6d v Surrey 176-5

Three successive maidens for Simon Harmer.

He floats a slower delivery right up outside Ryan Patel's off-stump with his final ball but the Surrey batter isn't tempted.

Sam Cook returns to the Essex attack, replacing Shane Snater who started that flurry of three wickets for eight runs.

  20. 'The hard graft begins'published at 12:34 British Summer Time 6 April

    Somerset 670-7 dec v Worcs 154 & 35-1

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

After the Tom Banton show comes the hard graft for Somerset of trying to take the 10 Worcestershire wickets that they need to win this game.

Gareth Roderick has gone, lbw, to Craig Overton, but there’s precious little in this pitch to suggest that the other nine will follow in a hurry.
