    Surrey 253 & 76-1 v Hants 219

Liam Dawson is in the attack, perhaps for a long spell of bowling this evening - and the Surrey pair of Dom Sibley and Ollie Pope carefully push the ball around for singles.

    Three runs off the over.

Pope is a little surprised by the bounce off a length from Kyle Abbott as he takes one hand off the bat, blocking into the on side.

But he has no doubts about the fourth ball, which is full, angled into his leg stump and clipped square for four. Four more driven through cover.

A tame dismissal ends a determined innings by Ethan Brookes, who chips a catch to Dawid Malan at mid-on.

Jordan Thompson has three wickets now and Yorkshire only need one more to wrap up the innings.

Brookes batted for over two hours for his 19 and faced 73 balls.

They've played well, these two, dare I say it.

It was a disastrous afternoon session for Worcestershire, losing eight wickets and adding 66 runs.

These two have added a bit of calm, which was needed...

Anuj Dal has fallen to Logan van Beek for 43 to end the 110-run seventh-wicket Derbyshire stand at Grace Road.

Martin Andersson has 62* from 80 balls but his side are still 84 runs shy of avoiding the follow-on against Leicestershire.

Ben Geddes is up to 36 for Middlesex as Kent's frustration's grow at Canterbury. The visitors lead by 166 and are 162-5.

Glamorgan still trail by 432 runs with eight wickets left at Gloucestershire, though Sam Northeast has moved onto 49.

  5. Postpublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 12 April

    Lancs 80-2 v Northants 496

This is a game of patience and attrition as Northants captain Luke Procter bowls a tight off stump line and his Lancashire counterpart Keaton Jennings repeatedly blocks into the off side.

    Maiden over.

  6. Postpublished at 57.5 overs

    Durham 387 v Warwicks 194-6

    Over he goes again.

Not for the first time today we see Durham's Daniel Hogg in position to inspect the pitch from close up after losing his footing in his follow through - and it's a fair way down when you have legs as long as his.

The next ball is overpitched and Kai Smith cover drives for four.

At last! A wicket for Somerset!

Daniel Hughes looked odds on for a century but he falls nine runs short of a ton asJack Leach finds the edge.

It's been tough going for Somerset today but they finally break that Sussex opening partnership.

Tom Haines is on 87 and will have a century in his sights.

  8. Postpublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 12 April

    Surrey 253 & 65-1 v Hants 219

Ollie Pope got off to a bright start, scoring at a run a ball from the outset, including a crunching front foot cover drive off the bowling of Kyle Abbott.

He is becalmed in this over though as Abbott bowls wide of the crease and Pope decides against attack.

Pope gets a single to end the over, safely steered wide of slip.

Martin Andersson cuts away to keep the Derbyshire revival going

Martin Andersson is continuing the Derbyshire fightback at Leicestershire with a blistering knock to reach 58* and share 105 for the seven wicket with Anuj Dal (40*).

The visitors are 244-6 but still 240 runs behind.

The Middlesex advantage is up to 154 at Kent with Ben Geddes unbeaten on 28 and still five second-innings wickets in hand.

Glamorgan are two-down at Bristol, Eddie Byrom departing for 23, and the visitors are 110-2 in reply to Gloucestershire's 546. Sam Northeast is unbeaten on 46.

  12. Postpublished at 54.5 overs

    Durham 387 v Warwicks 187-6

Productive over for Kai Smith who pulls Ben Raine past mid-wicket for four, steers the next one down to the rope at third man and two balls later square drives a third boundary in the over.

    Punishment for Justin Broad.

One ball after spearing a ball down the leg side which is pulled behind square by Keaton Jennings for four, JB drops short again and is lifted over deep square with a near identical shot.

    10 runs off the over.

  15. Postpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 12 April

    Surrey 253 & 54-0 v Hants 219

Rory Burns swats a straight ball from Kyle Abbott through the leg side for two more runs to move to 23.

Dom Sibley is in fine touch against Brett Hampton, guiding the ball wide of mid on for four.

Four more but these are streaky runs edged wide of the lone slip on a defensive push and that's the Surrey 50 in 11.2 overs.

Toby Albert dived at full stretch and may have just got a fingertip on the ball but no more than that.

  16. Postpublished at 53 overs

    Durham 387 v Warwicks 174-6

Michael Booth nudges Ben Raine down to third man for the first boundary of his innings.

The Warwickshire lower order bat is being very watchful and steers Raine for a couple more through the covers.

  17. Postpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 12 April

    Lancs 61-2 v Northants 496

Big appeal for LBW from Justin Broad, bowling round the wicket to Keaton Jennings but it's not out. Too leg side.

Northants captain Luke Procter is back into the attack and he gets Marcus Harris playing and missing as he also bowls round the wicket.

An LBW shout is turned down next ball as Harris gets outside the line.

Harris is subsequently forward, pushing into the off side but he doesn't get the ball away.

Not much happening off the pitch but Northants are really squeezing the run rate.

  18. Postpublished at 56 overs

    Yorks 456 v Worcs 137-8

George Hill continues the over which was interrupted by tea after he dismissed Ben Allison.

Adam Finch is the new Worcestershire batter and is quickly under way with a single.

  19. Postpublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 12 April

    Surrey 253 & 42-0 v Hants 219

Brett Hampton is in the attack and the sixth ball of his first over is driven firmly down the ground on the front foot by Dom Sibley for four.

Four more to Rory Burns, slapped through cover from just in front of the crease.

Runs are flowing too easily for Hampshire's liking.

  20. Postpublished at 50.1 overs

    Durham 387 v Warwicks 165-6

So, how is this final session going to go?

Durham will be looking to clean up the tail asap, while Warwickshire will presumably just want to hang on till stumps if at all possible.

Ben Raine will bowl to Kai Smith, who is 12 not out. Michael Booth has two.
