  1. wicket

WICKET Cooke c Bracey b Taylor 14published at 13:52 British Summer Time 3 July

    Gloucestershire 179 & 610-5 dec v Glamorgan 197 & 348-5

    What a grab!

Take a bow James Bracey as he makes a one-handed grab diving to his right as Chris Cooke is forced into playing at one from Matt Taylor coming round the wicket.

Suddenly that target of 593 feels an awfully long, long way away.

  2. new ball

New ball taken by Lancashirepublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 3 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 126 & 170-4

Luke Wells and Chris Green send down the first two overs of the session, but the third will come from James Anderson, with a fresh cherry in his hand.

    Notts trail by 57.

  3. Postpublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 3 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 343 & 225-5

Three balls after lunch Kyle Abbott has beaten the edge of Tawanda Muyeye's bat with one which stays low but somehow also beats the outside of off-stump.

    Intakes of breath all round.

The next one spits up at Muyeye. Nice sedate start to the session, eh? He does move to 27 by helping a wayward one from Abbott on its way to the fine leg rope.

Every run is vital as it is another one Hampshire may need to chase later, of course.

  4. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 13:43 British Summer Time 3 July

    Surrey 262 & 278 v Essex 180 & 77-2

    Down!

Tom Lawes, in his first over, gets Dean Elgar driving off the back foot. The ball flies at just above chest height to Dom Sibley at second slip.

It bounces through the hands, off the chest and loops to the ground over his shoulder. That was a big miss.

    How costly will that be?

  5. 50 runs

50 partnershippublished at 13:37 British Summer Time 3 July

    Surrey 262 & 278 v Essex 180 & 70-2

A rare wayward ball from Dan Worrall as he spears one down leg - a gift for Tom Westley as he tickles it fine for four.

The next ball is straighter, but still on Westley's pads and the Essex skipper loves it there as he sends it to the square leg fence.

The runs are flowing as this partnership is now worth 53.

  6. Postpublished at 13:33 British Summer Time 3 July

    Surrey 262 & 278 v Essex 180 & 62-2

Beautiful shot by Tom Westley as he strokes Jordan Clark to the cover boundary.

Then he gets three more runs for a nice straight drive that is hurled in just before the ropes.

Essex have added 24 runs in quick time since play resumed just over 20 minutes ago.

  7. Postpublished at 13:29 British Summer Time 3 July

    Surrey 262 & 278 v Essex 180 & 55-2

Two fours in three balls for Dean Elgar, taking advantage of a shortish offside boundary.

But Dan Worrall has Elgar fishing at a very wide one. That would have been a terrible way for the ex-South Africa captain to have got out.

But that's a much better shot. A checked drive through the offside for a third four of the over.

Just seven days ago, Dean Elgar and Tom Westley put on an unbroken 185 to save the game for Essex against Durham.

It's the early stages here as their partnership is worth 26, but they are critical to hopes of denying Surrey victory.

  9. 'Weather may frustrate Somerset's victory hopes'published at 13:19 British Summer Time 3 July

    Lunch: Somerset 284 & 117-2 v Warwickshire 412 & 281-8 dec

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

All results are still in play after a morning which has seen Somerset make a fast start and then consolidate in their quest for a target of 410 in 96 overs.

An unusually cautious Tom Kohler-Cadmore is still there at lunch, waiting until the last over of the morning to launch a trademark straight six.

Earlier, Andy Umeed played one big shot too many after a rapid 30 and Tom Lammonby fell headlong into one of the most obvious traps in cricket, as he top-edged a pull shot and was brilliantly taken at long leg by Ed Barnard.

The required rate is still below five, and the pitch is docile, but what may yet frustrate the home side's victory hopes is the weather, for there are showers about.

  10. Big shout!published at 13:18 British Summer Time 3 July

    Surrey 262 & 278 v Essex 180 & 38-2

A big shout in the first over following the resumption.

Dan Worrall hits Tom Westley on the back foot in front of the stumps. The bowler, wicketkeeper and slips are all absolutely certain that is LBW.

The man with all the power is not.

  11. Play resumes at Kia Ovalpublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 3 July

    Surrey 262 & 278 v Essex 180 & 38-2

Just as the players make their way onto the Wimbledon courts in south west London, the players are back on the field at The Kia Oval.

We have a possible 72.5 overs with Dan Worrall to resume his over.

  13. Lunch at Tauntonpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 3 July

    Somerset 284 & 117-2 v Warwickshire 412 & 281-8 dec

The morning session comes to an end and it has set it up very well for the rest of the day's play with everything to play for.

Andy Umeed (30) batted well and scored quickly before he departed, with Tom Lammonby (26) the other man to depart for the hosts.

Somerset require 293 to win, the Bears need eight more wickets if they are going to pick up a first victory of the league season.

  14. Lunch at Southportpublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 3 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 126 & 164-4

Joe Clarke has 54* at lunch and Lyndon James a patient eight from 43 balls and they have reduced the deficit to 63 at the interval.

Lancs have picked up two wickets in the morning session - one of them James Anderson's eighth of the match - but still need six more for a win which haul them away from trouble at the foot of the table.

The hosts will be able to take the new ball two overs into the afternoon session - any guesses as to who might bowl with that?

  15. Lunch at Cheltenhampublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 3 July

    Gloucestershire 179 & 610-5 dec v Glamorgan 197 & 341-4

A lovely four from Sam Northeast before a single off the final ball takes us to lunch in Cheltenham.

Northeast will eat, nine short of his hundred with Chris Cooke on nine as Glamorgan have scored 119 in 28 overs this morning.

The wicket of Marnus Labuschagne for a fine 119 was vital for Gloucestershire, but this match remains in the balance with all three results feeling possible.

  16. Lunch at Southamptonpublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 3 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 343 & 220-5

Kent have reached the interval, but lost Ben Compton and Jack Leaning in a six-over spell this morning, meaning they still face an uphill battle to save this game.

Tawanda Muyeye has 23 from 38 balls and Harry Finch 19 from 37 to give Kent a 58-run advantage, but Hampshire will be back after lunch, fired up, with a new ball, trying to take the remaining five wickets as quickly as possible and then rattle off the required runs to wrap up a big win.

  17. 6 runs

Six for Tom Kohler-Cadmorepublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 3 July

    Somerset 284 & 117-2 v Warwickshire 412 & 281-8 dec

He had been playing very watchfully but when the opportunity arises Tom Kohler-Cadmore sends a big old six into the stand!

He picked it up well and a nice follow through sees the ball disappear into the upper tier.

  18. Postpublished at 12:59 British Summer Time 3 July

    Gloucestershire 179 & 610-5 dec v Glamorgan 197 & 335-4

We are almost at lunch but we have the shot of the morning.

Marchant de Lange steams in and can only watch as Sam Northeast unfurls the most gorgeous straight drive for four.

The Glamorgan skipper is up to 86.

  19. 'Lancashire have monopolised this game'published at 12:54 British Summer Time 3 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 126 & 157-4

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

They'll be a beady eye on the weather. The ground staff say 14:15 is the next moment that they are keeping abreast of.

There's no doubt about it that Lancashire have dominated this game, monopolised this game.

If there is to be a winning side, then it deserves to be Lancashire.

  20. new ball

New ballpublished at 12:50 British Summer Time 3 July

    Gloucestershire 179 & 610-5 dec v Glamorgan 197 & 325-4

No surprise here as Gloucestershire captain Graeme van Buuren opts for a new ball.

It is a mammoth chase for Glamorgan in pursuit of 593, but it is not proving easy for Glos to run through the batting.
