  1. new ball

New ball taken by Hampshirepublished at 12:48 British Summer Time 3 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 343 & 203-5

Tawanda Muyeye and Harry Finch have played the old ball pretty positively and have built a lead of 41 for Kent.

Hampshire skipper James Vince opts to take the new ball at the first opportunity, tossing it to Kyle Abbott to try to make further inroads.

Still 69 overs and change to come today.

  2. 'Kohler-Cadmore trying to play a serious innings'published at 12:48 British Summer Time 3 July

    Somerset 284 & 101-2 v Warwickshire 412 & 281-8 dec

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

I know Tom Kohler-Cadmore has been relatively staved of the strike but you do get the impression that he's trying to play a serious innings here.

In the same way that Tom Banton absolutely gave that impression in the first innings he batted really well.

  3. 100 up for Somersetpublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 3 July

    Somerset 284 & 103-2 v Warwickshire 412 & 281-8 dec

Tom Abell helps himself to a four off Jacob Bethell to take Somerset over 100 runs in their second innings.

After Andy Umeed's quick start to the innings, Abell and Tom Kohler-Cadmore have been more circumspect and are looking to make it through to the lunch break together.

The run rate is 3.87 at present, with the required run rate 4.42, and the total required now standing at 307.

  4. Throwback Labuschagnepublished at 12:46 British Summer Time 3 July

    Gloucestershire 179 & 610-5 dec v Glamorgan 179 & 322-4

An excellent stat from our colleagues in Wales tells us that Marnus Labuschagne has scored 10 centuries and 13 fifties in 30 first-class games for Glamorgan.

Given the short-term nature of so many overseas players in Championship cricket now, Australia number three Labuschagne is a throwback to the years when stars came back to the same county year after year.

Much like Ben Slater in the first innings, Joe Clarke is on a one-man mission to frustrate Lancashire.

He brings up his seventh half-century of the season from 107 balls with five fours and a six with a push off Chris Green for a single.

Can he go on to make it three figures for the fourth time this campaign?

The deficit is 73 and Luke Wells will bowl his first over of the day.

  6. Postpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 3 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 126 & 153-4

It took him 25 deliveries but Lyndon James is off the mark... and in style.

He dances down the track to whack Nathan Lyon back down the ground for a sweet straight four to long off.

The deficit is down to 74.

  7. Postpublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 3 July

    Gloucestershire 179 & 610-5 dec v Glamorgan 197 & 315-4

A new batter changes everything in cricket.

Chris Cooke has come to the crease on a pair for Glamorgan and he remains there after 16 balls.

Another wicket before lunch would make Gloucestershire feel like they've had a good session.

  8. 'A tremendous diving catch from Barnard'published at 12:32 British Summer Time 3 July

    Somerset 284 & 77-2 v Warwickshire 412 & 281-8 dec

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

Ed Barnard pulls off a tremendous diving catch. Brilliantly taken.

Tom Lammonby won't believe he's fallen for that trap.

It's a splendid piece of judgement by Barnard under the swirling ball.

He's has to make a lot ground and he's had to dive to get under it and he gets two nice clean hands under it.

That's really frustraing because Lammonby is a better player than that.

  9. 6 runs

Postpublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 3 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 126 & 146-4

Joe Clarke is taking the game to Lancashire.

He's clubbed Nathan Lyon for six to make it 10 runs off the over to move to 46.

Lyndon James is yet to get off the mark from 16 deliveries.

The deficit is down to 81.

  10. wicket

WICKET Lammonby c Barnard b Booth 26published at 12:23 British Summer Time 3 July

    Somerset 284 & 77-2 v Warwickshire 412 & 281-8 dec

Somerset are two down and that was a breakthrough the visitors really needed as the home batters looked to be getting settled again.

It's set up well by the Bears as Michael Booth goes short again to Tom Lammonby who top-edges a pull and the ball is caught brilliantly at fine leg by Ed Barnard who had no margin for error as he was running in.

Booth bowled a very similar ball to Lammonby not long ago and the batter pulled it away for four but a little adjustment in his delivery and the field sees the second Somerset wicket fall at Taunton.

  11. wicket

WICKET Evison lbw b Fuller 13published at 12:23 British Summer Time 3 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 343 & 185-5

Wow. James Fuller has got a 73-over old ball to fizz through, nip back and thump Joey Evison on the pads.

Kent are five down and only 23 ahead with nearly 77 overs to come.

Harry Finch joins Tawanda Muyeye in the firing line.

  12. wicket

WICKET Labuschagne c Bancroft b Webster 119published at 12:22 British Summer Time 3 July

    Gloucestershire 179 & 610-5 dec v Glamorgan 197 & 309-4

    Out of nowhere!

Marnus Labuschagne was starting to motor, but he is on his way back to the dressing room after his 165-ball knock.

Beau Webster's delivery is on the pads, where the number three likes it, but he flicks it straight to Cameron Bancroft at backward square leg. An all-Australian dismissal!

He and Sam Northeast had put on 153 but the celebrations by Webster and wicketkeeper James Bracey tell us how much Gloucestershire needed that wicket.

  13. 300 runs

300 up for Glamorgan - halfway there!published at 12:19 British Summer Time 3 July

    Gloucestershire 179 & 610-5 dec v Glamorgan 197 & 302-3

Zaman Akhter returns to the Gloucestershire attack.

He tries a short ball and Marnus Labuschagne is more than equal to the task as he pulls it for four.

Labuschagne is starting to motor as the Glamorgan total goes past 300.

They are now over halfway towards that mammoth target of 593.

  14. 'Pressure building on Notts'published at 12:18 British Summer Time 3 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 126 & 135-4

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

The pressure is building on Nottinghamshire you'd fancy.

Lancashire are six wickets away from the win.

  15. 'Glamorgan still have done only half the job'published at 12:16 British Summer Time 3 July

    Gloucestershire 179 & 610-5 dec v Glamorgan 197 & 297-3

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Marnus Labuschagne reached his second Championship ton of the season off 148 balls in what’s his fourth and probably final match - but Glamorgan still have done only half the job.

A world record target of 593 is the mountainous task on a grey and overcast final day, although Labuschagne, Sam Northeast and next man Chris Cooke are all capable for batting for long periods.

Labuschagne against South African paceman Marchant de Lange has been the high theatre battle of this innings, with Northeast going about his work in relatively low-key manner despite scoring slightly more of the runs in the stand.

Gloucestershire remain big favourites, but it’s a shame the poor morning weather has cut the crowd for a duel that deserves a bigger audience.

  16. Postpublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 3 July

    Surrey 262 & 278 v Essex 180 & 38-2 - match delayed by rain

An early lunch will be taken at 12:30 BST and if there are no more showers then the plan is for play to resume at 13:10.

    Keep those fingers crossed.

  17. 'Hampshire heavy favourites'published at 12:15 British Summer Time 3 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 343 & 178-4

    Matt Cole
    BBC Radio Kent

Hampshire are certainly looking heavy favourites to win this one.

  18. wicket

WICKET Haynes c Hurst b Green 21published at 12:12 British Summer Time 3 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 126 & 134-4

What a catch by Matty Hurst. Chris Green has his first Championship pole for the red rose.

Jack Haynes tries to cut the spinner away but can only top-edge and Hurst reacts like lightning to take the catch standing up to the timbers.

Four down and with a deficit of 93. Lyndon James is the new man.

  19. 'Each wicket gives Hampshire extra bit of hope'published at 12:09 British Summer Time 3 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 343 & 171-4

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

    That is a big wicket.

It was a big wicket earlier of Jack Leaning and Ben Compton is in that bracket as well.

Kent only have a lead of nine and each wicket that falls just gives Hampshire that little extra bit of hope.

  20. wicket

WICKET Compton c Middleton b Dawson 92published at 12:06 British Summer Time 3 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 343 & 171-4

    BIG wicket for Hampshire.

210 balls with 13 fours but no century for Ben Compton.

The ball balloons up off his pad to the close-catcher Fletcha Middleton. Was there bat involved? Dawson thinks so. Compton doesn't. The umpire thinks there was, and up goes the finger.

The lead is nine. With six wickets remaining. Tawanda Muyeye joins Joey Evison trying to save the game.
