  1. Postpublished at 12:02 British Summer Time 3 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 126 & 125-3

With Tom Bailey proving to the liking of Jack Haynes in particular, Chris Green has been introduced by Lancs skipper Keaton Jennings so we have spin from both ends, for now at least.

The deficit is down to 102 and Joe Clarke and Haynes are showing more intent than at any point in the 62 overs of their second innings thus far.

  2. Players still off the pitch at The Ovalpublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 3 July

    Surrey 262 & 278 v Essex 180 & 38-2 - match delayed by rain

No sign of the players returning at The Oval unfortunately.

The covers are still on and so are the floodlights (yes really) under some very heavy cloud.

Today's date is 3 July in case you were wondering.

  3. 100 runs

100 for Marnus Labuschagnepublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 3 July

    Gloucestershire 179 & 610-5 dec v Glamorgan 197 & 278-3

Marnus Labuschagne steers a Marchant de Lange delivery down to third man to move to 95.

The burly South African tries a short ball, the Aussie takes it on and gets four down to fine leg. That's him up to 99.

    Will he hang about? No!

De Lange again goes short and Labuschagne pulls it to midwicket for a third four in four balls.

That is his second century of the summer for Glamorgan and a 32nd of his first-class career.

  4. Kent lead at Southamptonpublished at 11:59 British Summer Time 3 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 343 & 165-3

Ben Compton cuts Liam Dawson away to the rope at deep point to end the spinner's opening over of the morning and Kent have a lead in this match. First target ticked-off.

Compton moves on to 87 with his 12th four and Kent are three runs ahead - albeit with three wickets down.

  5. Postpublished at 11:55 British Summer Time 3 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 126 & 119-3

The sun is glinting off Nathan Lyon's perfectly shaven and moisturised head as he trots in at Southport.

Jack Haynes found the rope with an attractive drive off Tom Bailey in the last over and now Joe Clarke has worked the Australian spinner for another boundary.

Clarke is onto 32 and would seem Notts' best bet of saving this game, with 82 overs remaining and seven wickets in hand.

  6. Labuschagne into ninetiespublished at 11:53 British Summer Time 3 July

    Gloucestershire 179 & 610-5 dec v Glamorgan 197 & 265-3

Marnus Labuschagne works a ball from outside off stump into a big gap on the legside and he and Sam Northeast run two.

That takes the Australia batter to 90, 10 away from his hundred.

  7. Postpublished at 11:51 British Summer Time 3 July

    Somerset 284 & 55-1 v Warwickshire 412 & 281-8 dec

A four for Tom Lammonby off Chris Woakes takes Somerset over 50 runs and the target down to approaching 350.

Warwickshire's Jacob Bethell, who starred with the bat for his side yesterday, has had to do some fielding from the very deep so far today as the hosts continue to find plenty of boundaries.

  8. Postpublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 3 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 126 & 111-3

The hat is staying on this time. It started its life dark blue in colour but the years of sun have faded the dye so it is almost maroon. Like a West Indies cap with a red rose above the brim.

James Anderson has 1-13 from 10 overs in this innings but he is having a breather with Tom Bailey replacing him.

    The Notts deficit is 116.

  9. 'A flighty innings so far from Lammonby'published at 11:48 British Summer Time 3 July

    Somerset 284 & 56-1 v Warwickshire 412 & 281-8 dec

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

It's been a bit of a strangely flighty innings this so far from Tom Lammonby, which is quite unusual for him.

And Chris Woakes still can't get a wicket.

  10. 'It's overcast'published at 11:45 British Summer Time 3 July

    Somerset 284 & 51-1 v Warwickshire 412 & 281-8 dec

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

It's overcast here but I don't think these are rain-bearing clouds that are obscuring the sun.

Chris Thorn: Considering Essex's current injuries, and the inclement weather at the end of last season forcing very high risk declarations/overly attacking fields in pursuit of what otherwise would have been routine victories, the weather today is only re-balancing that bad luck! #bbccricket

Come on Chris? Surely as a cricket lover, you would rather watch your team bat out the day and secure the draw in the honourable way. Remember this is the last red-ball cricket until 22 August!

  12. wicket

WICKET Leaning c Brown b Abbott 43published at 11:40 British Summer Time 3 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 343 & 154-3

Jack Leaning steers Kyle Abbott through midwicket for a perfectly-timed boundary to reduce the arrears to single figures.

He is up to 43 but has yet another let-off as he tries to pull a short one from Abbott away four balls later, the sub fielder getting a good hand to the ball as it flashed away but failing to hold on.

Two balls later though. Leaning has gone. He's edged through to keeper Ben Brown trying to hook towards fine leg and those celebrations show how important that is to Hampshire.

Eight hours and three minutes at the crease in this match, but no more.

    Joey Evison joins Ben Compton.

  13. 100 runs

100 partnership for Glamorganpublished at 11:37 British Summer Time 3 July

    Gloucestershire 179 & 610-5 dec v Glamorgan 197 & 256-3

Marnus Labuschagne tucks one around the corner and the single helps him and Sam Northeast bring up their 100 partnership.

Only the 337 more runs to win.

That is miles away, obviously, but this pair is certainly holding up a Gloucestershire win.

  14. wicket

    WICKET Umeed c Burgess b Hannon-Dalby 30published at 11:36 British Summer Time 3 July

    Somerset 284 & 44-1 v Warwickshire 412 & 281-8 dec

    Andy UmeedImage source, Getty Images

    A first wicket for Warwickshire!

It comes after what had been a good opening half-hour for Somerset with Andy Umeed and Tom Kohler-Cadmore both enjoying plenty of boundaries.

Umeed had looked very confident and played some lovely shots to make it to 30 before he took on one shot too many and edged Ollie Hannon-Dalby behind to Michael Burgess.

  15. 100 runs

100 partnership for Kentpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 3 July

    Hampshire 505-8d v Kent 343 & 148-2

Ben Compton is quietly going about his business - when does he ever do anything else?

The Kent opener moves to 79 with a fairly streaky edge off Kyle Abbott through the vacant gully position.

Leaning is on 39 at the other end but runs a leg-bye to bring up the century stand from 224 balls together. The run-rate is hovering just over two an over and the deficit is down to 14.

Little milestones to tick off for the visitors... Parity. Lunch. Tea. 100+ lead. Bus home with a draw. How many ticks can they achieve?

  16. Postpublished at 11:29 British Summer Time 3 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 126 & 99-3

Joe Clarke moves to 20 with a couple of boundaries off Tom Bailey.

James Anderson returns and installs Josh Bohannon at short leg, just as he did in the first innings when he got Jack Haynes, who is on strike now.

    Wily old fox. Another maiden.

Nathan Lyon comes on to replace Bailey. Will Anderson have another one or two before a breather?

  17. 'Unlucky for Surrey or lucky for Essex?'published at 11:27 British Summer Time 3 July

    Surrey 262 & 278 v Essex 180 & 38-2

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

We've seen 13 balls and 17 runs before the rain.

Unlucky for Surrey or possibly lucky for Essex?

  18. 'We really shouldn't be surprised at all'published at 11:23 British Summer Time 3 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 126 & 91-3

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Jimmy Anderson gets his eighth of the match and it's a lovely bit of bowling.

We really shouldn't be surprised at all.

    He's already into them.

  19. 50 runs

50 for Sam Northeastpublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 3 July

    Gloucestershire 179 & 610-5 dec v Glamorgan 197 & 238-3

Sam Northeast flicks one down to fine leg and he jogs through to bring up his 50 off 70 balls.

A quick raise of the bat from the Glamorgan skip as he knows there is a LOT of work to do in this chase.

A nice start to the morning from him and Marnus Labuschagne, though.

  20. wicket

WICKET Young c Hurst b Anderson 17published at 11:18 British Summer Time 3 July

    Lancashire 353-9d v Notts 126 & 91-3

James Anderson drifts across Will Young's pads towards leg stump and the New Zealand international clips it beautifully through deep square to the rope for 17.

But now he's gone from the very next ball and the partnership is broken.

Anderson has his eighth of the match.

Young had to play forward at this one which nips away a touch and can only feather an edge through to Matty Hurst behind the stumps.

Jack Hayes joins Joe Clarke. Their side trails by 136 with seven wickets in hand.
