  1. Postpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 8 September

    Sussex v Hants 71-3

    Maiden over from Fynn Hudson-Prentice.

Ollie Robinson gets the ball to lift awkwardly off the pitch and Ben Brown takes a blow to the glove trying to jab it down and then misses the next ball with an attempted cover drive.

He connects this time though, driving off the back foot through point for four to get off the mark.

  2. Division Two updatepublished at 12:20 British Summer Time 8 September

Derbyshire reach 100-1 after 26 overs at the home of cricket. Caleb Jewell is 47 not out and Harry Came has 40 - and together they have added 81 since the loss of Luis Reece.

It is a similar story at Canterbury, where Kent are 110-1 against Lancashire, with Ben Compton and Ben Dawkins in the 40s.

  3. 50 runs

for Alex Leespublished at 12:20 British Summer Time 8 September

    Essex v Durham 119-1

Alex Lees gets lucky here. He sets off for a single which was never there as Ben McKinney dabs one into the leg side and he's nowhere near back in his ground as Doug Bracewell flashes the ball inches past the stumps, from a tough angle for the fielder, it must be said.

Lees survives and starts the next over from Noah Thain with a lovely off-drive back past the bowler to the rope to bring up his half-century from 75 balls with his eighth four.

  4. Postpublished at 12:17 British Summer Time 8 September

    Worcs 62-6 v Notts

Mohammad Abbas bowls a rare no ball and that is a first extra of the match in the 22nd over.

The Pears will make it through to lunch after a calamitous passage of play earlier this morning but goodness knows what a par score is from here.

  5. 'Robinson deserved that wicketpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 8 September

    Sussex v Hants 67-3

    Adrian Harms

If you keep plugging away you're going to get your rewards and I think it's fair to say that Ollie Robinson deserved that wicket.

  6. 50 runs

for Ben Charlesworthpublished at 25 overs

    Leics v Glos 103-2

A long half volley by Ian Holland is dismissed past mid-off by Ben Charlesworth, who brings up his 50 from 75 balls.

It's been batter or block by the left-hander, who has now hit 10 boundaries in this innings.

  7. Postpublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 8 September

    Essex v Durham 114-1

Noah Thain is the fifth bowler used by Essex in the opening session, sending down some right-arm medium pace.

Ben McKinney flashes a drive to backward point for his 10th boundary (out of 44*) to welcome him, though Thain beats the bat later in the over to almost exact revenge.

  8. Postpublished at 12:13 British Summer Time 8 September

    Worcs 60-6 v Notts

Josh Tongue continues from the Diglis End.

Just the three bowlers used by Notts so far and in truth that's all the team has needed on a helpful pitch with some disciplined bowling.

The last ball of an otherwise probing over is short, leg side and whipped away square by Gareth Roderick for four.

  9. wicket

WICKET Gubbins lbw Robinson 23published at 12:12 British Summer Time 8 September

    Sussex v Hants 67-3

Ollie Robinson strikes in his second spell, beating Nick Gubbins on an off stump line and now Hampshire captain Ben Brown is coming in.

  10. 'Warwickshire needed that wicket 'published at 12:11 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 116-2 v Warwickshire

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

It's amazing how this whole morning session can turn a touch.

Ollie Pope has played really nicely for those 50 runs. It was a good ball from Ed Barnard, turned round a touch.

Surrey have ticked along very nicely this morning, especially on this pitch but they lose their second wicket.

Warwickshire needed that wicket because it was getting away from them after winning the toss and bowling first which was exactly the right thing to do.

  11. Postpublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 112-2 v Warwickshire

Ben Foakes is the new man at the crease but he doesn't take long to join the boundary party at the Oval, leaning effortlessly on the first ball of Ed Barnard's latest over for a perfectly-timed four to the long-on rope.

Rory Burns has 44* at the other end.

  12. Postpublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 8 September

    Sussex v Hants 67-2

Fynn Hudson-Prentice is into his third over and causes Toby Albert a few problems with some seam movement away on a good line and length.

The fifth ball jags back in to strike the pad and an LBW shout is turned down by the umpire.

Complete contrast compared to the first half hour when Hampshire were cruising at five or six runs an over.

  13. Postpublished at 12:07 British Summer Time 8 September

    Essex v Durham 105-1

Durham move into three figures, a little later than had looked likely earlier on.

They scored 20 fours in the opening 24 overs, nine of them to Ben McKinney who now has 39*.

Alex Lees is on 47* from 70 deliveries and seems happy to play a supporting role at present as the young left-hander gets into his groove.

  14. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 23 overs

    Leics v Glos 90-2

Logan van Beek drops short and Miles Hammond swings it away over backward square leg for a maximum.

He is 17 not out and fellow left-hander Ben Charlesworth has 44.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:02 British Summer Time 8 September

    Pope c Hain b Barnard 50 - Surrey 104-2 v Warwickshire

    50, and gone...

    Big wicket this.

Ollie Pope tries to play a low ball off his pads into the leg side but Ed Barnard finds the outside edge and the ball loops to Sam Hain who takes a low catch at first slip.

Surrey were picking up plenty of momentum, but will this peg them back?

  16. wicket

WICKET Carlson c McManus b Procter 4published at 12:01 British Summer Time 8 September

    Northants v Glamorgan 82-3

Success straight away for Luke Procter in his second spell.

He has Kiran Carlson driving from the crease and gets a thin inside edge through to the keeper.

    Colin Ingram is in next.

  17. 50 runs

50 for Ollie Popepublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 104-1 v Warwickshire

Ollie Pope has rattled along to 43* from 52 balls, overtaking skipper Rory Burns (42* from 54).

Ed Barnard is thrown the ball for his first over but Pope drives pleasantly through the covers for another four, past a pretty tame fielding effort from Ollie Hannon Dalby, for his eighth four, taking Surrey into three figures.

He brings up his half-century from just 54 balls with an uppish drive over cover which allows him to run three.

  18. wicket

WICKET Brookes run out (Hameed) 10published at 12:00 British Summer Time 8 September

    Worcs 53-6 v Notts

Out! Brilliant from Notts skipper Haseeb Hameed!

Can the Pears make it past lunch?

Ethan Brookes had just taken Worcestershire past 50 with a back foot cover drive off Dillon Pennington but he's been run out!

It was just a forward push from Brookes past the bowler and he's been undone attempting a single via a brilliant pick up and throw on the off side.

    Matthew Waite is in next.

  19. Latest from Lord'spublished at 20 overs

    Middx v Derbys 79-1

    Olly StoneImage source, Rex Features

Olly Stone is certainly throwing himself into it for Middlesex in the first game of his two-week loan spell.

No joy for him yet, through, as his wicketless opening five-over burst cost 26 runs.

He is now taking a breather with spinner Zafar Gohar into the attack.

  20. 'TKC enjoys games between these two counties'published at 11:57 British Summer Time 8 September

    Somerset 81-2 v Yorks

    Johnathan Doidge
    Commentator on BBC Radio Leeds

In Tom Kohler-Cadmore's most recent game here in a match between these two sides was when he was wearing Yorkshire colours as it were and made a century. So he enjoys games between the two counties at Taunton.
