  1. Postpublished at 11:57 British Summer Time 8 September

    Sussex v Hants 66-2

Double change at Hove with Fynn Hudson-Prentice and Ollie Robinson replacing Hunt and Unadkat.

Toby Albert is foxed by an off cutter from Robinson and survives a half shout for LBW.

  2. Postpublished at 11:56 British Summer Time 8 September

    Essex v Durham 97-1

Lovely shot from Ben McKinney as he effortlessly cuts the returning Jamie Porter past point to the rope for his seventh boundary in his 29*.

He's not going to get his 10,000 steps in today at this rate.

Still ticking along at north of 4.5 an over, are Durham, with Alex Lees on 45* at the other end.

  3. 50 runs

50 for Asa Tribepublished at 11:54 British Summer Time 8 September

    Northants v Glamorgan 77-2

    Asa TribeImage source, Rex Features

Asa Tribe reaches the landmark in just 63 balls with his ninth four, driving a back of a length ball from Ben Whitehouse wide of a diving first slip.

  4. Postpublished at 11:53 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 89-1 v Warwickshire

Almost a calamitous run-out for Surrey as Michael Booth thunders one into Ollie Pope's left hip.

Rory Burns sets off for a single but Pope doesn't know where the ball is and stays put, Burns eventually turning round and scrambling back, with Booth's throw at the non-striker's end flashing wide. He would have gone had he hit.

Surrey will be very happy with their start, but with an iffy forecast on Wednesday and Thursday, and with Notts in charge at Worcester, they will need to build on it too.

  5. 'Worcestershire in are in a real hole'published at 11:53 British Summer Time 8 September

    Worcs 43-5 v Notts

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Notts are really ripping a hole through that Worcestershire top order. They are in a real hole here.

It's been dramatic past few minutes.

  6. 50 runs

for Tom Kohler-Cadmorepublished at 11:52 British Summer Time 8 September

    Somerset 76-2 v Yorks

    Tom Kohler-CadmoreImage source, Getty Images

Tom Kohler-Cadmore tries to cut Dom Bess, gets a thick edge but the ball flies down to third man for four as he brings up his 50 off 55 balls.

It's only the third time he has reached a half-century this season - the other two were both converted into hundreds.

  7. Postpublished at 11:51 British Summer Time 8 September

    Essex v Durham 92-1

Simon Harmer and Doug Bracewell have stemmed the flow of runs effectively.

Ah, until now, Harmer leaves one short and Alex Lees cuts to the rope for four, Harmer having conceded one run from his previous 12 deliveries.

Lees has seven boundaries in his 44*.

Ben McKinney now has five in his 25* as he drives Harmer down the ground to the long-on rope.

    Durham's morning, so far...

  8. wicket

WICKET Northeast c Harrison b Broad 17published at 11:50 British Summer Time 8 September

    Northants v Glamorgan 65-2

Bounce and seam movement for Justin Broad who has Sam Northeast trapped on the crease and edging to second slip.

Time for Kiran Carlson to bat.

  9. Postpublished at 19 overs

    Leics v Glos 72-2

Bold shot as Miles Hammond slashes Logan van Beek away for four.

The left-hander is squared up by the next delivery but although the ball squirts away off the edge, he managed to keep it down.

Ben Mike will bowl from the other end as Josh Hull takes a breather with figures of 2-21 from his four overs.

  10. Postpublished at 11:50 British Summer Time 8 September

    Worcs 41-5 v Notts

The slip cordon is being reinforced for Josh Tongue.

Five slips! No, six. Haseeb Hameed comes in.

Full and straight! LBW shout turned down...

That was close but Roderick survives. Just missing leg?

  11. Postpublished at 16.1 overs

    Somerset 64-2 v Yorks

Tom Kohler-Cadmore continues to use his feet to try and negate any movement and glances George Hill for four to long leg. He is into the 40s.

  12. Postpublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 8 September

    Worcs 41-5 v Notts

Ethan Brookes drives his first ball through point and the Pears get four more runs to move off an unlucky 37.

They lost three wickets in five balls on that total.

Over bowled. All eyes on Josh Tongue, who is on a hat trick...

  13. Postpublished at 11:47 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 83-1 v Warwickshire

His figures don't show it, but Nathan Gilchrist has begun very well.

He gets one to jag back off the Dukes seam which flashes past Ollie Pope's off-bail with the batter shouldering arms and then thumps the thigh pad, too high, with his next delivery.

    A boundary-less over, at least.

  14. wicket

WICKET Lategan LBW b Pennington 4published at 11:45 British Summer Time 8 September

    Worcs 37-5 v Notts

A 50th Notts wicket for Dillon Pennington!

    The Pears are in tatters.

Struck on the back pad and just in line as Dan Lategan tries to defend down the ground.

Ethan Brookes to bat next, much earlier than he might have expected.

  15. Postpublished at 11:44 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 82-1 v Warwickshire

Back-to-back drives to the rope from Ollie Pope off Michael Booth, one ether side of the stumps at the opposite end. He's finding his gear, and Surrey are picking up pace.

There's another boundary, clipped through mid-wicket, and another, guided late behind point. That's six boundaries in a row for Surrey.

Booth delivers two dot-balls to stop the flow.

Pope has 33* from 38 balls.

13 fours and a six for the leaders so far this morning.

  16. New signing misses outpublished at 11:43 British Summer Time 8 September

    Durham 79-1 v Essex

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham signed the Afghan spinner Shafiqullah Ghafari for this one, but then went with the experience of Callum Parkinson instead.

Ghafari, 23, has been playing for Richmondshire in the North Yorkshire & South Durham league for the last three years and we may see him yet this season, just not in the sunshine of Chelmsford.

Durham are second bottom going into this one and haven't won since mid-May. But Essex only have the two wins to their name as well. They have just had a few more draws.

Durham's only victory here came on their first visit in 1993.

  17. wicket

    WICKET D'Oliveira b Tongue 0published at 11:40 British Summer Time 8 September

    Worcs 37-4 v Notts

First ball! Off stump ripped out of the ground!

Full and quick from Josh Tongue.

    Too good for Brett D'Oliveira.

That ends a calamitous 15th over for the Pears and Tongue will be on a hat trick when he bowls his next delivery.

The new batter is Pears keeper Gareth Roderick.

  18. Postpublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 66-1 v Warwickshire

Nathan Gilchrist, on loan from Kent ahead of a permanent move next season, is thrown the ball for the 15th over and immediately discomfits Rory Burns.

Burns follows one down the leg side and there's a flick off something on the way through to Alex Davies, but the umpire says it's thigh pad, and he's right.

The next ball is edged past through slips for four runs to the third man boundary and it happens again two balls later as Burns tries to play into the leg side.

Incredible, another one. 12 off the over in edges through the vacant third slip region.

Burns has 38* with Ollie Pope on 17* at the other end.

  19. wicket

WICKET Libby c Verreynne b Tongue 18published at 11:38 British Summer Time 8 September

    Worcs 37-3 v Notts

Josh Tongue strikes in his third over and Notts have a first bowling point of the match.

Jake Libby shapes to defend down the ground on the up and edges to the keeper.

A captain's innings needed as Brett D'Oliveira takes guard.

  20. Postpublished at 11:37 British Summer Time 8 September

    Northants v Glamorgan 52-1

Asa Tribe is helping himself to some easy runs off Ben Whitehouse, who bowls very full on an off stump line and concedes 13 runs off his second over.

The Glamorgan 50 arrives in exactly 15 overs.
