  1. 'Lammonby looked late on the shot'published at 11:19 British Summer Time 8 September

    Somerset 32-2 v Yorks

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Tom Lammonby looked to be late on the shot to me. He is a little bit vulnerable early in his innings.

I think this could prove a very good toss for Yorkshire to have won.

  2. Postpublished at 12 overs

    Leics v Glos 49-0

It is premature, and unfair, to describe Josh Hull as England's 'forgotten man'. But that surprise Test cap against Sri Lanka was handed to him exactly 12 months ago today.

The tall left-armer comes into the attack for Leicestershire and there are three no-balls in his opening over, one of which is glanced for four by Joe Phillips.

    Gay c Critchley b Bracewell 22 - Essex v Durham 55-1

First change at Chelmsford and Kiwi all-rounder Doug Bracewell is tossed the ball for a spell of right-arm medium-fast.

Alex Lees cuts his second delivery and it flashes past the diving fielder at point all the way to the rope.

Another edge from ball three, splitting the fielders at first and second slip, Simon Harmer almost got his right paw under it but the ball flies away for another boundary to bring up the Durham 50.

Another cut past point from Lees makes it three straight boundaries and a streaky single takes the skipper to 32*.

Bracewell gets his revenge on Emilio Gay, who clips the final ball of the over straight to Matt Critchley at mid-wicket, soft dismissal. Out of nowhere.

Bracewell has his maiden Essex scalp.

  4. Postpublished at 11:12 British Summer Time 8 September

    Sussex v Hants 39-1

Nick Gubbbins moves into double figures, driving through backward point for four runs.

More of a thick edge than off the middle but the ball landed safely and fairly pinged away nonetheless.

We have our first bowling change at Hove with left arm seamer Sean Hunt coming on for Jaydev Unadkat.

  5. wicket

WICKET Lammonby b Hill 1published at 9.2 overs

    Somerset 30-2 v Yorks

    Emphatic.

Tom Lammonby plays forward in defence but doesn't have off stump covered and George Hill flattens it.

Two wickets already for the improving Yorkshire all-rounder.

  6. Postpublished at 10.4 overs

    Leics v Glos 39-0

Things not going according to plan for Leicestershire so far.

Ben Charlesworth is being given too many opportunities for his favourite shots and that cover drive off Ian Holland is exquisite.

    Four more runs.

  7. Postpublished at 11:09 British Summer Time 8 September

    Worcs 14-1 v Notts

Mohammad Abbas again beats the outside edge, this time of Kashif Ali's bat and keeper Kyle Verreynne dives to take the ball behind the stumps.

Ali is squared up back of a length but survives the over.

  8. Postpublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 25-1 v Warwickshire

Short of a length and wide from Ollie Hannon-Dalby and Rory Burns needs no invitation to cut that to the rope at a rate of knots to move to 12*.

  9. Postpublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 8 September

    Northants v Glamorgan 15-1

Northants captain Luke Procter strikes for the hosts in the eighth over, luring Zain ul-Hassan into a drive from the crease, edging the ball to keeper Lewis McManus.

Glamorgan captain Sam Northeast is in at three for the visitors.

  10. Postpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 8 September

    Essex v Durham 41-0

Emilio Gay has four boundaries, with Alex Lees a couple of his own, and Durham have made a bright start in the glorious Chelmsford September sunshine.

The visitors are 41-0 after nine overs, having won the toss and elected to bat first.

    Northants v Glamorgan 15-1

  12. Postpublished at 8.2 overs

    Leics v Glos 27-0

Ben Charlesworth certainly likes a bit of width.

Ian Holland angles one across the left-hander who again cuts unerringly for four and is 17 not out.

  13. Postpublished at 11:03 British Summer Time 8 September

    Worcs 10-1 v Notts

There's plenty of seam movement being generated by Mohammad Abbas and his keeper Kyle Verreynne has to make up a lot of ground to take the ball outside off stump.

Just a single off the over.

Dillon Pennington bowls the eighth over of the innings and Kashif Ali drives off the back foot through the off side for two.

This has been a tough first hour for the hosts, who will hope this surface gets a bit easier to bat on when the ball softens.

  14. Postpublished at 11:02 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 21-1 v Warwickshire

Ollie Pope picks up his first boundary with a lovely clip through mid-wicket which sends a flock of pigeons scattering before limping all the way to the rope on that long boundary.

Ethan Bamber showcases his goalkeeping skills to prevent a couple of straight punches down the track from Pope from racing away to add to the scoring.

  15. Postpublished at 10:58 British Summer Time 8 September

    Sussex v Hants 34-1

Bright start for Nick Gubbins, who dispatches his first ball (full on his leg stump) from Unadkat to fine leg for four.

Hampshire remain in a decent position despite the early loss of Fletcha Middleton.

  16. Postpublished at 10:57 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 15-1 v Warwickshire

Meat and drink for Rory Burns as Ollie Hannon-Dalby strays outside off stump, with the Surrey skipper getting down onto one knee to crack a tasty drive to the covers to the fence for his first boundary.

He shoulders arms to the next ball with a flourish.

OHD has only conceded three scoring shots in his opening three overs.

  17. wicket

WICKET Vaughan c Bairstow b Hill 10published at 5.4 overs

    Somerset 20-1 v Yorks

Tame dismissal for Archie Vaughan, who doesn't do much more than dangle the bat and edges to the keeper.

Maybe that's a bit unfair to George Hill, there may just have been a little movement off the seam from this green-looking surface.

  18. 'Spin options limited for Foxes'published at 10:56 British Summer Time 8 September

    Leics v Glos 16-0

    Richard Rae
    BBC Radio Leicester Sport

Josh Hull is out there so there are plenty of seam options for Leicestershire but the spin options are somewhat limited with respect to Rishi Patel who is an occasional off spinner.

He's developing and working hard at it but he is really the only spin option.

  19. wicket

WICKET Middleton c Simpson b Unadkat 12published at 10:55 British Summer Time 8 September

    Sussex v Hants 28-1

Sussex had been struggling to contain Hampshire, who were scoring only just shy of a run a ball - but now Fletcha Middleton is out.

Jaydev Unadkat tempts the opener with a bit of width outside off stump and Middleton drives from the crease, edging to Sussex captain and keeper John Simpson.

The Hampshire number three is Nick Gubbins.

    Ryan HigginsImage source, Rex Features

    Middlesex have an initial breakthrough.

Ryan Higgins sends down a big inswinger and it's too good for Luis Reece, who is lbw for seven.

Harry Came comes out to join Caleb Jewell.
