That kept low, it has nipped back and gone underneath Dawson's bat. Those are concerning signs for anyone who has to come out and bat this morning.

Bumrah breaks top of stump with Dawson dismissal

Liam Dawson sees a delivery from Jasprit Bumrah smash into the top of off stump, but that only tells half the tale.

The previous delivery from Bumrah had lifted off the pitch and gone over Dawson's head.

Both deliveries were on a similar length.

England's attack, sitting up in the dressing room at Old Trafford, will have sat up and taken note.

Liam Dawson with a boundary of his own as he finishes the over by whipping Mohammed Siraj for four behind square.

Positive intent shown by these two as the lead reaches 200.

England going on nice and steady but they are looking to push on without being frivolous. It still looks a good pitch, the odd one is doing a little bit.

    Get that clipped up!

Ben Stokes strikes a pose after a quite frankly glorious drive through the covers for four off Mohammed Siraj. Picture perfect.

    Poise, balance and power.

Jasprit Bumrah gets one to nip back into the top of Liam Dawson's pad with the penultimate ball of the over. He played completely down the wrong line to that one.

Shubman Gill is not burning India's last remaining review on that one.

Dawson comes down the pitch for a chinwag with Ben Stokes.

15 overs. 75 runs. Declare and get India back in with a decent amount of time before lunch and a 250-run deficit.

    Graham, Brighton.

Declare now, it takes ages to get India out.

    Claude, Northolt

Stokes and Dawson to hit as much as they can as quickly as they can. Declare when one of them is out and then let Archer and Woakes loose while there is still cloud cover. That’s got to be the plan, right?

One of the simple pleasures of a player returning to the Test fold, such as Liam Dawson, is seeing a different bat sponsor on the international stage.

He is happy to show the maker's name to keep out the remainder of the over from Mohammed Siraj.

India will need a little bit of help from the weather, and they just need to get out of this game. They have to survive today and they have to believe. If they lose their belief, they will lose today. Their batsmen are in form. I don't think they can win this game and after a long tour, it certainly will not be easy.
