    Somerset 262-5 v Surrey

A big blow just before the second new ball!

Tom Curran gets one to just hold its line away from the left-handed James Rew.

He feels for it and gets a thin edge behind.

  3. Postpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 9 September

    Durham v Lancs 113-5

Durham have brought left-arm spinner Callum Parkinson into the attack.

We have a slip and a short leg in place for the left handed George Balderson.

The last ball really takes off on a length as the ball just evades bat and glove on the way to the keeper.

Sharp turn out of the rough there.

  4. Back out at Chelmsfordpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 9 September

    Essex 168-4 Notts

The light is good enough for Essex and Notts to return to the field at Chelmsford.

But now we have another stoppage as concussion protocols are being carried out after Paul Walter is struck on the helmet by a Rob Lord delivery.

  5. wicket

WICKET: Hill b Wright 12published at 16:15 British Summer Time 9 September

    Leics 98 v Yorks 142-6

    Leicestershire strike quickly after tea!

Full from Chris Wright and it nips back to beat the big drive of George Hill to crash into the stumps.

Can the Foxes get through the lower order and limit this lead?

  6. Postpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 9 September

    Middlesex 266-5 v Gloucs

Josh de Caires clips Zafar Gohar to fine leg for one to move to 30.

A slightly nervous moment for Jack Davies, who leaves the ball at the last moment as the ball spins back into the stumps.

He uses his feet to push the next ball to mid on for one.

Surrey struggling for a wicket!!! Don't worry they'll announce the signing of Bumrah and Cummins tomorrow just for the match.

It's such a tired statement "Surrey buying the league". Curran, Curran, Burns, Pope, Smith, Sibley, Atkinson, Geddes, Steel, Virdi, Patel. All players to come through the Surrey academy. People need to stop pretending like we go out spending £400m every year.

  10. Postpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 9 September

    Durham v Lancs 111-5

Maiden for Matt Potts as the Lancashire lower order struggle to rescue the innings.

Matty Hurst gets a single to extra cover.

The last ball of the over is leg side and tucked away fine by Balderson for four.

  11. Postpublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 9 September

    Sussex 24-0 v Glamorgan 186

Ned Leonard and James Harris have tortured the Sussex openers with just enough movement and unerring accuracy.

Not a lot to score off and plenty of oos and ahs as the ball passed the bat.

Their hard work has been handed over to Andy Gorvin - he took an 8-for for the 2nd XI last week.

  12. 100 for Tom Bantonpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 9 September

    Somerset 253-4 v Surrey

A second century of an excellent summer for Tom Banton.

He's make great progress against the old ball since tea and goes to his hundred in 132 balls with 12 fours and a six.

He guided Kemar Roach past gully for four and pulled him hard for another boundary.

Cam Steel was reverse-swept for four and a long-hop was pulled all the way for six.

It's just a third first-class hundred for Banton - a skinny return for a player with such talent.

But this has been a fine campaign.

A first batting point is raised too and Somerset are in command at Taunton.

  13. Evening session underway at Lord'spublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 9 September

    Middlesex 258-5 v Gloucs

Gloucestershire start the session with the spin of Ollie Price from the Pavilion End.

He'll bowl to Josh de Caires, who is on 25.

  14. Postpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 9 September

    Durham v Lancs 106-5

George Balderson sees out a wicket maiden over from Matt Potts with a dab safely behind square on the off side.

Bas de Leede is clipped into the on side by Matty Hurst for one and now we have two slips in for Balderson.

Balderson is forward, pushing into the off side but can't get the ball away.

He gets a single off the last ball, which is leg side and clipped square.

Half-century for D'Oliveirapublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 9 September

    Worcestershire 198-6 v Warwickshire

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at Worcester

Worcestershire skipper Brett D'Oliveira reaches his half-century.

A fine knock. Not his first key innings for the county - and it continues a great run of form.

Since returning to the Pears first team last month after being troubled by a shoulder injury for much of the last year, he has now hit four half-centuries in successive innings.

97 in the win against Kent, 68 and 51 in the victory over Essex and now this one too. Hello, Dolly . . .

  16. Postpublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 9 September

    Kent v Hampshire 144-4

Liam Dawson has spent a lot of his life watching James Vince bat.

And it appears something has rubbed off onto him. That cover drive was a thing of beauty to get him off the mark.

Of course, Dawson is a mightily fine batter in his own right, with over 700 runs in the Championship this season.

The 15.29 picture of New Road in the sun, and an impressive plate of cookies. Everything perfect about county cricket. I know it’s difficult there for Worcester with all too regular flooding, but it is the most beautiful setting. And the refreshments look fab.

A celebappeal from Charlie Stobo, who thinks he has pinned James Vince.

When he finally turns around a shake of the head greets him.

    Going down? Almost certainly.

  19. wicket

WICKET Bell c Holder b Potts 7published at 15:56 British Summer Time 9 September

    Durham v Lancs 104-5

Lancashire are in danger of being routed here.

Matt Potts has his second wicket and the beautifully symmetrical figures of 2-22.

George Bell gets a short ball and chips a simple catch to Chemar Holder at square leg.

Time for George Balderson to have a bat.

  20. wicket

WICKET Waite lbw Rae 53published at 15:55 British Summer Time 9 September

    Worcestershire 192-6 v Warwickshire

Post-tea success for Warwickshire as Matthew Waite falls for 53, trying to turn to leg.

It looked a little leggy and possibly also a bit high - but umpire Debenham's finger went up. And Logan Van Beek has come in to join Brett D'Oliveira.
