  1. Eng 33-2published at 5 overs

All that faff around reviews out of the way, Heather Knight calmly latches onto a short, wide delivery from Fatima Sana and guides it past backward point for four.

A single from the last keeps Knight on strike.

That is a poor review from the captain.

She is getting some lovely in-swing now however, she is really in control of the ball.

  3. Not outpublished at 4.4 overs

    Eng 28-2

    Impact well outside the line.

Fatima Sana got a bit carried away there. Heather Knight is still there but Pakistan's opening bowlers are getting plenty of movement so far.

Heather Knight is in the eye of a storm in this tournament. There seems to be something for every ball that is bowled at her.

  5. Pakistan reviewpublished at 4.4 overs

    Eng 28-2

Two balls later and now Pakistan call for a review for an lbw against Heather Knight.

Fatima Sana took the review instantly, she really likes it but I think Knight got outside the line...

There have been some really shocking umpire decisions in this tournament.

That is missing by a whole stump! A really bad decision - it just did not feel right in real time.

  8. Not outpublished at 4.2 overs

    Eng 28-2

    Missing leg by a mile.

What were you all worried about?

Heather Knight survives and she always seemed pretty calm about it. Another nip-backer causing issues, though.

Heather Knight has referred this but it only needs to be clipping. This could really put Pakistan right on top.

  10. England reviewpublished at 4.2 overs

    Oh dear.

Heather Knight has been given out lbw.

She reviews but this only has to be clipping. This is far from ideal for England.

Nat Sciver-Brunt averages 92.33 against Pakistan in ODIs - the highest of any opposition.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is incredibly strong on the back foot, we know that is one of her strengths. The way she crunches the ball through mid-wicket is one of the best I have ever seen.

I could watch her all day.

  13. Eng 28-2published at 4 overs

I'd be surprised to see England move Emma Lamb up to open in this tournament, Ed, but if the current opening partnership doesn't start producing before the end of it, it's definitely an option.

For now, it's England's three and four trying to steady the ship and Nat Sciver-Brunt starts by drilling the ball through mid-wicket for four.

Our openers continue to fail, yet the best opener in the country is sat waiting to come in at six. Make it make sense?!

Could someone remind the England openers that it's NOT T20!

  15. Eng 22-2published at 3 overs

To be fair, Catie, I think Tammy Beaumont committed to leaving that one when it was pitching well outside off and just didn't have time to adjust once it nipped back.

Still, as I said, there are two types of leave...

Anyway, after two expensive overs, it's a wicket maiden for Fatima Sana.

What on earth was Beaumont doing there? I could see that was going to hit the stumps and she’s the professional cricket player. Still hasn’t got going in this World Cup for a player of her quality.

England's opening partnership has struggled throughout this World Cup and is struggling again today. Heather Knight and Nat Sciver-Brunt are having to do the heavy lifting again today.

    Two huge wickets for Pakistan.

  19. wicket

    Jones b Fatima 8 (Eng 22-2)

    Pakistan have got another one!

Another nip-backer, this time it's Fatima Sana making a mess of Amy Jones' stumps.

The ball came back sharply and Jones was caught on the crease, not really committing on the front foot as she attempts to drive through the covers, as it cannoned into middle and off.

England in a bit of trouble early as Nat Sciver-Brunt walks to the crease.
