  1. Eng 75-6published at 20 overs

As the headline is sorted by my line manager and I have an appraisal coming up, I have to say I think it is excellent and in no way harsh to either side. Perfectly judged, I'd say...

Pakistan have now bowled 20 overs, which is good news for them if the rain comes and sets in. It means there only needs to be time for 20 more overs to be bowled once it stops, they bat and that will constitute a game.

I think saying that 'woeful England slump to 57-6' is a fraction harsh on Pakistan, who have bowled superbly. I would say only one England batter has played a bad shot to be fair.

    David in Middlesbrough

Calmness needed here. Cobble up to 130/140 and there's every chance of defending it against Pakistan's batting line-up.

Dragged down by Nashra Sandhu and Alice Capsey rocks back before powering the ball over mid-on for four.

A single to deep cover ends the over with the groundstaff still poised on the edge of the rope.

The ground staff are hovering on the edge here and they are usually right about when the rain is coming.

  5. Eng 69-6published at 18 overs

Just one from the over, pushed out to long-on by Alice Capsey.

But the rain is almost with us it seems, the groundstaff are gathering on the edge of the boundary.

Pakistan will be keen to get 20 overs bowled before it does.

That could be a key moment in this match. It was England's last recognised batter.

That is a bad drop. Alice Capsey will not be making that mistake again.

Huge let off for Alice Capsey!

Full toss from Rameen Shamim to start her spell, Capsey sweeps but doesn't really give it everything and it goes straight to square leg.

Muneeba Ali is there and drops a dolly. Bad drop. Rameen was already celebrating...

We should probably give Pakistan credit instead of blaming everything on England's batters. The "weaker" countries in this tournament have been threatening to do this against all the top teams so far.

The skies overhead are beginning to look increasingly angry in Colombo - and I don't think it is just from witnessing England's batting today.

It is still dry for now, though, as England take just a single from the Nashra Sandhu over.

Alice Capsey has changed her gameplan. She has used her feet to every single delivery in this last over.

She has realised that getting her feet to the ball is easier than letting the ball come to her.

The only positive is that this might wake England up ahead of the two games that matter against India and Australia.

    Lovely shot.

Alice Capsey uses her feet well, skipping down to Sadia Iqbal and chips the ball back over the bowler's head, straight of mid-on for four.

A hard sweep brings a single to end the over. Five from it - England's best for a little while.

This is the first time in limited-over internationals cricket (ODIs and T20s, women and men) that England's top six have all been bowled or lbw in an innings.

  15. Eng 62-6published at 15 overs

    Goodness me, that's close!

Charlie Dean goes back to cut a ball that is too straight for that from Nashra Sandhu, misses and it misses off stump by a whisker.

Maiden over and it is important to say that, for all England's batters could have done much better, Pakistan have bowled superbly so far.

They've really made the most of the assistance the pitch is giving them.

This is somewhat tailor-made for Charlie Dean. There are few people who will relish this situation as much as she will at number eight.

She is the best person you could want for this.

  18. Eng 62-6published at 14 overs

Singles bookend Sadia Iqbal's fourth over, both pushed into the off side.

England need a quieter spell and Charlie Dean and Alice Capsey are doing their best to provide just that.

England need 10 overs of boring cricket. Get used to the surface and quieten Pakistan down.

They are currently all over England like a rash - they are up and bouncing.
