  1. Eng 22-1published at 2 overs

Despite that early wicket, England are off to a flyer as, first ball, Heather Knight comes in and creams a wide half-volley through point for four.

The former skipper then clips the ball off her pads, through square leg for four more.

An expensive first over from Diana Baig but she has taken the wicket of Tammy Beaumont as well.

A brilliant delivery from Diana Baig. She has responded well to the no-ball and the free-hit for four.

The ball was nipping back in - it's one of them you want to watch again and again.

    Beaumont b Diana 4 (Eng 13-1)

    Bowled 'er!

Brilliant delivery from Diana Baig, nipping the ball back to clip the off bail as Tammy Beaumont left it.

Great bowling but a good example of there being two kinds of leave. That was a bad one.

Pakistan are one win against a big team away from really learning a lot of lessons.

You need to play what is in front of you - don't think about the weather.

  5. Eng 8-0published at 1 over

Four more for Amy Jones to end the over but I'm not too sure about Pakistan's fielding in the covers.

A nice drive from Jones but it's all a bit Chuckle Brothers from the fielders at cover and extra - to me, to you - and in the end they just watch the ball run away to the boundary.

    One for the teenagers there...

England will be boosted by what they saw yesterday, in terms of the pitch. It did look flatter and they will try to make the most of that.

Pakistan generally go with two seamers up front and they will want to take advantage.

  7. Eng 4-0published at 0.2 overs

    And England are away!

Hint of swing for Fatima Sana but onto the pads of Amy Jones, who whips the ball away backward of square leg for four.

  8. Postpublished at 10:31 BST 15 October

The forecast doesn't look particularly encouraging but it is dry as England openers Amy Jones and Tammy Beaumont walk to the middle.

Pakistan skipper Fatima Sana will open the bowling. Now we just need that forecast to be proven very wrong...

  9. New leadership keeping England refreshed - Capseypublished at 10:28 BST 15 October

All-rounder Alice Capsey says new captain and coach duo Nat Sciver-Brunt and Charlotte Edwards have given England a freshness as they look to stretch their unbeaten run in the World Cup against Pakistan.

Sciver-Brunt's side have beaten South Africa, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka so far, and will be favourites against a winless Pakistan in Colombo today.

Capsey, who is batting at seven and providing a fourth spin option, also emphasised the importance of taking winning momentum into crunch games at the end of the group stage against India, Australia and New Zealand.

"The change in leadership with Nat and Lottie coming in has been really refreshing, in the sense that we're talking about the game in a different way," Capsey told BBC Sport.

"Lottie is so experienced, and being able to learn from her not only as a coach but from what she achieved as a player, it's amazing.

"It would be greatly appreciated [to face India still unbeaten]. But every team brings a different challenge, and especially in these conditions a team like Pakistan can definitely pose a threat, perhaps a different one to what we are used to.

"I know they haven't won a game so far but they are definitely not a team we are taking lightly."

A nice, drama free, no nonsense win would do nicely today.

  11. How things standpublished at 10:24 BST 15 October

So far, so good for England and if the weather plays ball then they will have the chance to go top of the table with a win.

Pakistan's semi-final hopes already look extremely slim, anything but a win today and they'd be all but out.

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt: "I wanted to bowl as well because of the weather and to make use of the wicket.

"Sophie Ecclestone and Lauren Bell are missing out so Sarah Glenn and Em Arlott come in.

"In a tournament like this you need everyone of your squad member so Sarah and Em can come and make an impact."

On her form with the bat: "I try to start in the same place when I can and start from the beginning again so I hope I can continue what I am doing."

  14. Postpublished at 10:12 BST 15 October

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana: "We are going to bowl because the pitch looks good and we want to take advantage of our spinners.

"We have two changes Aliya Riaz and Omaima Sohail are back.

"We need to improve our batting side and bat longer and get some partnerships. We need to finish off innings when we get scores like 76. Hopefully we will today."

A big blow for England then to lose Sophie Ecclestone and Lauren Bell through illness.

Arguably, this is their most winnable game so perhaps the timing could have been worse but they'd have been keen to keep going with a winning XI.

Still, a good chance for Sarah Glenn and Em Arlott to show what they can do at a World Cup.

Straight to it then and the coin comes down in favour of Pakistan with skipper Fatima Sana wasting no time in choosing to bowl first.

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt says she also wanted to bowl - partly with the weather in mind - and also confirms changes to the XI because of some illness in the camp.

Sophie Ecclestone and Lauren Bell miss out with Sarah Glenn and Em Arlott coming in.

  17. Good morning!published at 10:01 BST 15 October

England are three from three so far at this World Cup and looking to maintain this 100% start as they take on Pakistan in Colombo today.

Nat Sciver-Brunt's side go in as big favourites against a Pakistan team that is also three from three - but that's losses rather than wins.

The game still needs to be won, though, and for that to happen, the weather needs to play its part.

After the game at this ground yesterday was washed out, the forecast isn't good for today either but - at least for now - it is dry!
