You're forgetting the Australia tax that should be added to any of these calculations. They just never lose.

Australia were 78-7 against Pakistan too and won the game by 107 runs. So I think England should be awarded the same if it's rained off.

I hate to correct Ian from Twickenham but cumulonimbus also have rain coming out of them, and given thunder is forecast they’re more likely the culprit…

If you're wondering, the cut-off for this match to get back under way is not until 17:08 BST.

That's a lot of time to talk about our favourite weather presenters.

We should get Michael Fish to do some Ashes predictions. I wonder what he would make of Stuart Broad's barbs...

This is the first time in any format, men or women, that England's top seven have all been out bowled or lbw. Also, the second time in all women's ODIs that a top seven have all been out bowled or lbw (Zimbabwe v Thailand in April 2023 the other occasion). Has happened twice in men's ODIs (both in the 1980s).

I should probably explain to those just joining us what has happened in the cricket. England have been awful. They are 79-7 and watching their dismissals was akin to Bill Murray being awoken by Sonny and Cher...

If there is rain coming out of it then it's nimbostratus.

Not to get everyone's hopes up but my first ever overseas tour with the Welsh LD team was in Sri Lanka, it absolutely poured down but dried very quickly and we were able to play with reduced overs

I always fancied myself as a weather reporter. It couldn't be worse than my attempts in cricket, right?

Right, operation cover the entire playing area is complete and the rain is still coming down.

Matthew Henry was meant to be coming in for the second half of the England innings but instead will play the role of weather reporter.

Hopefully he'll get to do a bit of cricket stuff as well (although England fans might prefer he doesn't have to)...
