  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 24 May

    Slater c Duke b Revis 78 (Yorks 159 v Notts 228 & 173-3)

Ben Slater's wait for a century goes on as he edges a rising ball off Matthew Revis to Harry Duke behind the stumps.

Slater has 541 runs and a 92 against Durham but he has not converted any one of his six half centuries into three figures.

He remains the only one of Notts top eight without a century this season but can console himself with the fact he is contributing plenty.

  2. Division Two updatepublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 24 May

Daniel Bell-Drummond has moved to 61 and Ben Compton is going well at the other end as Kent are 151-1 in reply to Derbys 587-5.

Nothing much in the pitch for bowlers at Derby it would seem.

Glamorgan have taken five Middx wickets to reduce them to 109-5 chasing the Welsh side's 383.

Leicestershire are in complete control of their match against Lancs at Grace Road with Ian Holland having just reached a half century as the hosts are 424-6 in reply to the visitors 206.

Cameron Bancroft (59) has a half century and Miles Hammond (49) looks set to join him as Glocs are 135-2 chasing Northants first innings 469.

  3. Postpublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 24 May

    Durham 159 & 277 v Somerset 172 & 11-0

The Somerset openers continue to tick along. Not at any great speed but they don't need to.

At the moment, while the ball is still hard and new, it's a question of waiting for something hittable.

And Lewis Gregory has had something from Mitchell Killeen, who's drifted too close to the Somerset skipper's pads and is cuffed beautifully through mid-wicket for four.

  4. Postpublished at 36 overs

    Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 138-0

Dean Elgar is leading a bit of what might be called a charmed life out there.

A little bit of away swing from Sam Curran takes the edge, but it only reaches Dom Sibley on the half volley and he fumbles the stop, allowing Elgar a single to take him to 44 not out.

  5. Postpublished at 35 overs

    Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 137-0

The Surrey groundstaff are in position next to the covers with the possibility of rain around.

Paul Walter is still motoring along nicely having clubbed Sam Curran through the covers for four off the back foot and is 85 not out.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 24 May

    Prest b McAndrew 4 (Hants 154 & 61-4 v Sussex 297)

Pretty straight and Tom Prest has played down the wrong line.

Good wheels from McAndrew but Prest will be disappointed with missing the Sussex bowler has 2-16.

  7. Postpublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 24 May

    Durham 159 & 277 v Somerset 172 & 2-0

Somerset have bags of time here and a sackful today with 25 overs still to go (if the light holds).

So Lewis Gregory and Josh Davey can certainly have a look for a bit as Durham hunt early wickets.

Two overs gone, Mitchell Killeen - hero from the first innings - has just opened with a maiden.

Ben Raine gets ready to start his second.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 24 May

    Gubbins lbw b Crocombe 1 (Hants 154 & 49-3 v Sussex 297)

Henry Crocombe strikes again as Sussex turn the screw.

Nick Gubbins has just been done by an extra yard of pace from the Sussex youngster, unable to get his bat down in the way as it angles in at middle stump.

No doubt from anyone really that that is out and Hants are wobbling.

  9. 50 runs

for Cameron Bancroftpublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 24 May

    Northants 469 v Glos 113-2

    Well played Cameron Bancroft.

The Australian has led from the front at the top of the order and has complied a patient half-century - the 39th of his first-class career.

It's come off 116 balls with five boundaries.

He's got good support from Miles Hammond who's on 25.

Glos need them to keep going as the total passes 100.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 24 May

    Stoneman c Simpson b McAndrew 16 (Hants 154 & 49-2 v Sussex 297)

Fynn Hudson-Prentice is out of the attack and Nathan McAndrew is his replacement as Sussex seek a second Hampshire wicket.

And it proves an inspired switch with Mark Stoneman's wicket five balls in.

The opener just hangs his bat outside off stump and it grazes the edge.

Hants are effectively minus 92 for 2 and Sussex have 16 overs to really tighten their grip tonight.

  11. Durham 'odds-on favourites' to winpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 24 May

    Durham 277 & 159 v Somerset 172

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

    Somerset need 265 to win.

It's a good performance by Somerset's bowlers to dismiss Durham for 159 and give themselves just a sniff of what would be a fairly unlikely and certainly a famous victory - but I think it is just a sniff.

Durham are heavily odds-on favourites to knock Somerset over a second time.

  12. Bad light stops play at New Roadpublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 24 May

    Worcestershire 181 v Warwickshire 227 & 53-1

After a Ben Allison over the umpires have got together and offered the light to Rob Yates and Tom Latham who accept.

It's been overcast all day in Worcester and it's not much of a surprise it's now affected play.

There are still 20 overs scheduled but how many of those we'll get in a moot point.

    Warwickshire's lead is 99.

  13. Postpublished at 17:16 British Summer Time 24 May

    Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 125-0

Surrey's slips are absolutely convinced that Dean Elgar has nicked that one from Dan Worrall to the keeper.

They cannot believe it when the umpire shakes his head - did it perhaps come off the South African's trousers?

  14. 50 runs

for Ben Comptonpublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 24 May

    Derbyshire 587-5 dec v Kent 127-1

    Ben ComptonImage source, Getty Images

Ben Compton follows his captain to 50 with a single off Luis Reece - it has taken the left-hander 88 balls.

Compton square cuts Zak Chappell for four in the next over by way of modest celebration.

  15. wicket

WICKET - Durham 159 all outpublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 24 May

    Minto b Overton 17 (Durham 159 & 277 v Somerset 172)

    Stumps akimbo. Durham all out.

James Minto plays down the wrong line and Craig Overton removes the off pole.

It gets through one and a half rotations before lying flat on the ground several yards behind the slightly bemused batter.

Somerset have battled back well from a long way behind.

They still may be too far away as they try to get the 265 needed for what would be a fantastic win.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 28.3 overs

    Du Plooy c Bevan b Kuhnemann 17 (Glamorgan 383 v Middlesex 85-5)

No wonder Leus du Plooy swishes his bat angrily.

He tries to come down the wicket but doesn't get anywehere near the pitch of the ball and slices a catch to Thomas Bevan in the deep.

Australia spinner Matthew Kuhnemann has his first wicket for Glamorgan.

  17. 50 runs

for Warwickshirepublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 24 May

    Worcestershire 181 v Warwickshire 227 & 50-1

After the loss of skipper Alex Davies, Rob Yates and Tom Latham have played calming hands to get the Bears to 50.

    They've put on 37 and won't care a jot it's taken 110 balls.

    They're effectively 98-1.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 24 May

    Middleton lbw b Hudson-Prentice 32 (Hants 154 & 38-1 v Sussex 297)

Fletcha Middleton is trying to swipe a ball off his pads but misses and that is probably just clipping off stump. Just.

  19. 50 runs

for Daniel Bell-Drummondpublished at 27.3 overs

    Derbyshire 587-5 dec v Kent 122-1

    Daniel Bell-DrummondImage source, Getty Images

Daniel Bell-Drummond chops down on a ball from Zak Chappell and four through backward point takes him to a half-century from 63 balls.

It's only the second time he has passed 50 this season - on the other occasion he went on to score 223 against Middlesex.

  20. 150 runs

for Durhampublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 24 May

    Durham 156-9 & 277 v Somerset 172

Durham will feel they're not far from feeling safe as they bring up the 150.

It's not been convincing in this second innings but their big first-innings lead has given them a good leg-up.

Concussion sub Daniel Hoggs is making the most of his chance, he's flayed his way to 16 off 15.

These are VERY welcome runs, they lead by 261.
