What's concerning about Olly Stone is that Sri Lanka are picking him off for ones and twos.

Almost every ball has allowed them to rotate strike.

England have lost their discipline and then you're looking for someone to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

    Someone to give something special.

I think Nissanka needs to be himself. He's uncomplicated and playing with intent, looking solid in defence.

After the flurry of boundaries last evening, Sri Lanka are happy to deal in singles at the moment and there are plenty of them on offer.

A clip off the hip earns Angelo Mathews a two as the tourists continue to tick over nicely.

Josh Hull is pitching up for swing and having the courage to do so is impressive.

Just a single from Josh Hull's over and it's down to 95 to win for Sri Lanka.

Some 10 years since their last Test win over England, they are surely closing in on another.

I think Ollie Pope is operating in very short spells with his faster bowlers and trying to keep them fresh, with the favourable conditions today.

  8. SL 123-2published at 25.1 overs

    Target 219

It's a double change for England with Josh Hull into the attack as well.

His first ball is on the money and Pathum Nissanka has to get forward to defend.

That was really well run by Nissanka, with his intent and aggressive mindset.

    It looks positive again.

  10. SL 123-2published at 25 overs

    Target 219

Decent first over from Olly Stone and it ends with him whistling one past Angelo Mathews' outside edge as the Sri Lanka number four prodded forward.

There was another run out chance earlier in the over when Pathum Nissanka pulled firmly behind square and raced back for two.

A slightly more accurate throw from the deep and Nissanka might have been in a bit of bother.

We mentioned the ticket prices earlier.

To make it clearer, the £25 tickets are for Under-16s. The cheapest available adult tickets start at £75.

  12. SL 120-2published at 24 overs

    Target 219

Maiden over from Gus Atkinson as he maintains a disciplined line, really targeting the stumps.

Angelo Mathews was solid in defence, though, and it looks like England are going to make their first bowling change.

Olly Stone is going to replace Chris Woakes.

Nissanka has played well in this Test match and he's scored quickly.

A superb shot, he opens the face of the bat and guides it towards point. He's the key for Sri Lanka.

  14. SL 120-2published at 23 overs

    Target 219

It's down to double figures for Sri Lanka now.

A hint of width from Chris Woakes and Pathum Nissanka punches it smartly through point for four.

Another wide ball, fuller this time, ends the over but Nissanka plays and misses this time.

  15. England start confidently v Irelandpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 9 September

Tammy Beaumont has helped England to a solid start against Ireland as the visitors reach 46-1 after the 10-over powerplay.

Beaumont has 22 from 27 balls so far but is now rebuilding with Hollie Armitage after fellow opener Emma Lamb's run out in the ninth over.

Lamb made 18 from 31 balls before she hit a crunching drive and immediately set off for the single, only for Ireland's Una Raymond-Hoey to pull off a spectacular save at cover. Lamb was stranded in the middle of the pitch as Beaumont had barely moved, a frustrating dismissal after such a confident start from the experienced pair.

Ireland's bowlers leaked runs in the opening overs by offering too much width, so they will look to squeeze England now with more fielders allowed out on the boundary.

Gus Atkinson doesn't look quite right. He looks a bit tentative and isn't quite getting that zip.

It's difficult to bowl fast if you're not 100%.

  17. SL 115-2published at 22 overs

    Target 219

Gus Atkinson errs a little too straight to end the over and Angelo Mathews is able to work him through mid-wicket for three.

Despite that wicket of Kusal Mendis and a couple of scares in Chris Woakes' last over, Sri Lanka are gradually ticking off the required runs. Just 104 more needed.

It's another sparse crowd today. Tickets start at £25, which is a big reduction on the near-£100 being charged at Lord's on day four.

That was a tricky start for Mathews, Woakes nearly got him out three times.
