Summary

  1. Aus 21-0published at 3 overs

    Target 141

Good response from Mahedi, conceding just one single on top of that six from David Warner.

Australia needed around seven an over when this chase started and so far, they've done exactly that.

Taskin Ahmed will bowl the next over, his first of this innings.

Mahedi is bowling a little too quick - the batters will prefer it sliding on to the bat. He needs to give the ball chance to grip and spin.

  3. Aus 20-0published at 2.2 overs

    Target 141

Six big ones from David Warner, who really gets at Mahedi.

Slog sweeping hard, he sends that delivery over mid-wicket and comfortably into the crowd for an early six.

Tanzim is bowling with some good pace at 88mph. He's running in hard and building up a head of steam. He just needs to make sure he doesn't give them any width because these two will pounce on that.

  5. Aus 14-0published at 2 overs

    Target 141

Nine runs come from that over which Travis Head finishes off with a great cut shot that races away for four.

Tanzim Sakib will be pleased to have caused one or two problems with his first over and had he had some sharper fielding in his team, he would have taken an early wicket.

The TV cameras probably shouldn't pan to Shakib after every ball, because he does show his disgust. I think that just about carried to the fielder.

  7. Warner dropped on 5published at 1.1 overs

    Aus 6-0 (Target 141)

Almost a first-ball wicket for Tanzim Sakib.

Warner slashes his wrists through the shot and picks out the fielder at point. He got two hands to it, but does not take the catch.

    A missed opportunity for Bangladesh.

  8. Aus 5-0published at 1 overs

    Target 141

The first over is up and after that audacious second ball shot from David Warner, just a further single comes from it. Five runs in total.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib will open from the other end.

Shakib looked disgusted at that four.

  10. Aus 4-0published at 0.2 overs

    Target: 141

David Warner has not taken long to find the first boundary of this chase.

A reverse sweep is slightly top edged, but it runs away down to the rope at third man for four.

Travis Head and David Warner make their way out to the middle, padded up and ready to get this chase of 141 under way.

Mahedi Hasan has the ball in hand and will open the bowling.

    Away we go!

The rain won't help Bangladesh, who have a spin-heavy attack. The ball will be harder to grip.

160 is par on that pitch, severely under from Bangladesh. Our top order is almost non existent. 11 straight dots played by Litton during the powerplay sums it up. Would be a miracle if Bangladesh win from here.

Play is due to restart in a couple of minutes.

Australia need 141 to beat Bangladesh in this Super 8s opener for both sides.

India beat Afghanistan in the opening match of this group on Thursday afternoon.

This total shouldn't be enough against Australia on this pitch.

Pat Cummins really helped restrict Bangladesh at the back end of that first innings with a hat-trick for Australia.

Some good news from the middle, the covers are in the process of coming off the pitch, so hopefully, we are not too far away from the second innings getting under way in Antigua.

    Thanks, Sam.

Not the smallest total in the world for Australia to chase, but one they can feel confident of, especially as a side who have won all four of their other matches at this World Cup so far.

Bangladesh meanwhile will hope that they can cause an upset here.

Fingers crossed the rain stops soon in Antigua.

To keep you up-to-date with that and, hopefully, take you through the Australia chase, I'll hand you over to Jonty Colman.
