Summary

  1. Ban 103-4published at 16 overs

Mitchell Starc and Adam Zampa might be done but Australia still have Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins...

The former gets through his third over for the cost of just five runs.

With four overs remaining, Bangladesh need to push on - and soon!

It might not look like it looking at the scorecard, but this is a much better place for Bangladesh to be in at this stage of the competition.

Starc has bowled his overs, as has Zampa. You've got two set and in-form batters who do not need to force anything. When you are high in confidence, anything is possible.

  3. Ban 98-4published at 15 overs

Towhid Hridoy clobbers Adam Zampa for four to end the over and another impressive spell from the Australia leggie.

He finishes with figures of 2-24.

I have to admit that I'm not really up on my college softball. But as someone with links to Canada, I do know the Toronto Blue Jays are having a very underwhelming season in the MLB...

It is fascinating seeing Shakib in this team not as captain. I wouldn't say Shanto has made controversial decisions, but he has made very confident ones.

  7. Ban 89-4published at 14 overs

There has been a distinct lack of aggression for much of this innings from Bangladesh.

Pat Cummins is back for his second over and concedes just five from it.

Shakib Al Hasan is out there with Towhid Hridoy now for Bangladesh.

I think Bangladesh are well-placed here. If they can keep ticking on like this, they can set a decent total.

It's hard to overturn that one. Shanto had played lovely for his 41 off 36. A shame for Bangladesh.

    Shanto lbw b Zampa 41 (Ban 84-4)

    Big wicket!

Adam Zampa removes the Bangladesh captain as Najmul Hossain Shanto misses with a sweep.

The finger went up quickly and Shanto doesn't bother to review. It did look pretty adjacent.

The Tigers are in trouble now.

  11. Ban 83-3published at 12.3 overs

    Super shot from Towhid Hridoy!

He sweeps Adam Zampa firmly to deep mid-wicket for a much-needed Bangladesh boundary.

There's been a lot of talk about Tim David and him maybe getting his off spin back up to speed again. I think there was hope he could be an option for Mitchell Marsh, but it has not been mentioned.

Another boundary-free over but Bangladesh still take seven off Glenn Maxwell with good running enabling Towhid Hridoy to get back for a pair of twos.

I think looking at this surface, Bangladesh are going to need more than 150 here. There is a little bit of spin. I wonder if there will be a little bit of dew at play, which might be why Australia wanted to chase?

  15. Ban 72-3published at 11 overs

Mitchell Starc is indeed bowled out after just 11 overs of the innings.

His last over is a tidy one with just two runs off the bat, plus a wide and a couple of leg byes.

Australia certainly seem to have retaken control of this innings.

Mitchell Starc is going to be bowled out in the 11th over. For all of the T20s he has played in the world in different leagues, that can't have happened very often.

Great to have you with us, Oli! In terms of other summer sports happening over there right now, I'm guessing it's a lot of baseball...?

Halfway through the innings and it looks like Bangladesh will need something special from their captain now to get them up to a competitive total.

Najmul Hossain Shanto is unbeaten on 39 and Towhid Hridoy is out to join him now.

The experiment didn't work but I like the way Bangladesh are approaching this.

They need to throw some punches and they can't let it try and let it happen naturally.

Bangladesh need a big 10 overs to put on a decent total. They just need to get a decent total.
