I think a couple of the Australian batters will be pretty disappointed in themselves, none other than Maxwell - he just stood in disbelief for a few seconds.

  2. Aus 182-6published at 32 overs

A tight over from Adil Rashid, just a single from it as Hardie pushes into the covers.

    The players will take drinks.

Where does Adil Rashid stand in the overall ODI bowling lists for England?

    Iain, London

In terms of wickets, Rashid is third on the list for England...

    1. James Anderson - 269
    2. Darren Gough - 234
    3. Adil Rashid - 200
    4. Stuart Broad - 178
    5. Chris Woakes - 173
  4. Aus 181-6published at 31 overs

    Oh, dived over it.

Carey finds the boundary for the first time, driving Bethell through the covers.

Phil Salt looks to have successfully run round to collect, but he contrives to dive over the ball and it reaches the ropes.

    Andy Zaltzman
    Statistician on Test Match Special

Adil Rashid is just the third England bowler to reach 200 ODI wickets, and the first spinner.

  6. Aus 173-6published at 30 overs

The Australian batters work Rashid around as they try to rebuild their innings.

A few singles and two for Hardie, pushing the ball to backward point.

  7. Aus 168-6published at 29 overs

Short and wide from Bethell and Hardie eases him to the boundary through backward point.

Tighter for the rest of the over, closing with three dot balls.

    Ben Jones

He may have departed now, but that Maxwell six was just the second time in his ODI career that he's hit his first ball clean over the ropes - the previous time was against India back in November 2013.

A good omen for young Jacob Bethell - the bowler on that occasion was Ravichandran Ashwin.

  9. Aus 162-6published at 28 overs

Aaron Hardie is the new Australian batter, and he's struck on the pad immediately by Rashid.

Too high, the cries of howzat dying in England's throats.

A really soft dismissal. He's got to be doing better with his team under pressure.

Maxwell has just picked out the man on the ropes! He's stomping off in disgust.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 27.2 overs

    Maxwell c Bethell b Rashid 7 (Aus 161-6)

A 200th ODI wicket for Adil Rashid!

It's one six and gone for the formidable Glenn Maxwell, as he picks out Jacob Bethell on the mid-wicket boundary.

England most definitely on top now.

    Steven Finn
Former England fast bowler on BBC Test Match Special

Australia are a touch on the ropes here. Their run rate is good but they've lost wickets at regular intervals.

  14. Aus 161-5published at 27 overs

Adil Rashid does some good work on the boundary behind the keeper, cutting the ball off after a Bethell ball beat everybody.

That is Glenn Maxwell. What a fantastic entrance to this match.

  16. 6 runs

    Aus 157-5published at 26.3 overs

Glenn Maxwell spends no time getting going!

His first ball is a drag-down from Bethell and Maxwell, at the crease in a cap, hauls him over the mid-wicket boundary for six.

    A sign of intent?

Marsh almost made the T-sign to review twice but then realised it was never going to get overturned.

If you sweep, you're in danger. Mitchell Marsh is walking off.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 26.2 overs

Marsh lbw Bethell 60 (Aus 151-5)

    Bethell strikes again!

Marsh drops to a knee to sweep and is struck at the top of the thigh, right in front of the stumps.

The Australian captain had a chat with Alex Carey, who seemed to be encouraging him to review, but Marsh decides there's no hope of it being overturned and wanders off.

  20. Aus 150-4published at 26 overs

    Thanks Tim.

Not sure I've ever managed any chin music that wasn't an accidental beamer.

I did lose a front tooth in a father-son Scouts rounders game gone wrong though.

Adil Rashid replaces Brydon Carse and Carey brings up the Australian 150 with a push to mid-on.
