Nice end to the 11th over - Carse lures Marsh into a drive outside off stump that zips through into Jamie Smith's gloves.
Brydon Carse is bowling in the high 80s, but Mitchell Marsh is equal to it - driving him back past the bowler's left hand for a lovely four to open his account.

I think Short's a little bit fed up out there. It hasn't been Australia's most aggressive start, there's been two balls he's had his eye on and he's dispatched them.
Matthew Short is purring now - he hits three fours off the reel from Olly Stone - a cut through off, a mighty pull to square leg, then a lovely drive past mid off.

It's like he was giving catching practice. A little bit sticky from Travis Head, he's just tried to pick it up off his hip and found Olly Stone.

Mitchell Marsh is next - he made a superb 118 here in the Test last year.

It's just as well that Brydon Carse's follow-through takes him downwards, as Matthew Short pummels the ball back just over his head to the long off boundary.

It's an inexperienced England side - Adil Rashid has 199 ODI wickets, but none of the other bowlers have passed 20.
In terms of turnover, in the 2015-19 which finished with England winning World Cup, they used 34 players in 99 matches. They've played 56 matches since then, and used 45 players.
Head has a good way of settling his nerves - depositing a bowler over the rope, like he does to Carse's fifth ball, which plops down just in front of the Western Terrace.

In ODIs since 2000, only two men with a minimum of 40 innings have averaged over 50 in the first 10 overs while also striking above 100 - Travis Head, and Jonny Bairstow.
Carse's first delivery is short but Travis Head swats it to the square leg boundary. His next is rapid, and inside edged into Head's pads - Head still looks a touch edgy.
That's a testing over from Olly Stone that Matthew Short negotiates. Stone has impressed since his return, hasn't he?
