The runs are beginning to flow with relative ease. England are beginning to get themselves in a comfortable position here.

Having said England were going nowhere, I am happy to eat my words and say that Sciver-Brunt and Emma Lamb have rebuilt really nicely here as Lamb reaches a 63-ball half-century - well played.

Two boundaries from the over, and things are bubbling up at the halfway mark. England need a further 190 runs, and here is Adwaidh Rajan to take you through the remainder of the innings.

For England, keeping wickets in hand is key right now. You just feel as if Nat Sciver-Brunt's presence will keep England in it.

Harmanpreet Kaur still has plenty of runs to play with but she just takes a bit of time out of the game to chat with Sneh Rana and manipulate her field.

They're still in a strong position but a wicket or two would almost put the game to bed.

If England can hold the required run rate at around seven, it will keep the game interesting and may even give England a chance at this.

Nat Sciver-Brunt need to match Harmanpreet Kaur's captain's innings and more.

  7. Eng 111-2published at 23 overs

    Yep, she's in the mood.

Nat Sciver-Brunt shuffles across the stumps and sweeps for four more, which brings up the 100 partnership between herself and Emma Lamb.

They've had their rebuild - they now have to kick on. One wicket here and India are right back in.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is obviously the key but the people around her need to make contributions. Emma Lamb does look like she's getting going now though. They are doing the right thing, trying to build a platform.

Too short from Kranti Goud and Sciver-Brunt picks the gap beautifully, pulling through mid-wicket.

She's starting to go up a gear now...

The start was obviously disastrous but overs 11-20 they’ve scored 66-0; not quite the eight an over they need but up on the run rate needed for the overall chase.

While she is there, England still have a fighting chance.

I spoke earlier about the period of play where India slowed down, and that's exemplified by the fact that India were 97-2 at this same stage.

India scored 120 from the final 10 overs with Harmanpreet Kaur's stunning century. Can Nat Sciver-Brunt replicate it?

I really think England need a bigger character on the field. Nat Sciver-Brunt is a great batter because she is so calm, but that calmness lacks energy in the field. Someone has got to keep them on their toes and get underneath the opponent's skin. Not sure where they come from though!

Nat Sciver-Brunt whips nicely through the leg side for four, as the partnership continues to grow but it doesn't feel like India are under any pressure at all.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is starting to look more and more comfortable against the spin threat from India here.

She has a terrific pedigree against spin in this format of the game. Of the 28 batters to have scored 1000+ runs in the format against spin, only Meg Lanning averages more.

    • Meg Lanning - Avg 66.62
    • Nat Sciver-Brunt - Avg 64.00
    • Ellyse Perry - Avg 61.83
    • Sarah Taylor- Avg 55.80

Just going through the motions at this point.

Not once today have England looked like they are playing in a series decider.

  17. Eng 72-2published at 18 overs

Seven from the over but India won't be bothered by singles in the slightest at this point.

The required run-rate is pushing eight an over now.

  18. Eng 66-2published at 17 overs

    Target 319

Nine off the over as Nat Sciver-Brunt thumps a drive down the ground and through the hands of mid-on for four - a rare fielding mistake from India.

    Target 319

Considering this is England's last ODI before the World Cup (warm-up matches aside), it is quite the concern that they have far more questions than answers.

Heather Knight will come back to boost the batting and Nat Sciver-Brunt will hopefully be bowling by that point, but even then it is still a huge ask for two players to rescue a struggling side when they have been out of practice themselves.

India, on the other hand, the exact opposite. They look a very settled side and there is so much individual clarity in their roles in the XI.
