    India have been so impressive.

Yes, having 319 runs to work with will understandably give you a boost but knowing England would need a fast start, they have been absolutely on it and bar the no-ball first up, so impressively disciplined.

The body language, the noise, the skill - they really are looking formidable as this World Cup approaches.

In this you can't lose your intent, you've got to keep paying your way and throw some punches. They can't afford to just keep playing dot balls.

  3. Eng 13-2published at 4 overs

    Target 319

Nice bit of intent from Emma Lamb, skipping down the pitch and lofting Deepti Sharma over mid-on for four.

Despite falling cheaply here, Amy Jones is going through a real purple patch in this format.

Since the start of 2024, she has 788 runs from 17 innings, an average of 66 and a strike-rate of 99.

Of the 69 players globally in ODIs who have had 10+ innings since the start of 2024, none have a better average then Jones.

    A wicket maiden.

    319 seems... far away.

What a catch form Deepti Sharma. India have been sensational already. They say catches win matches and already we've seen India have been miles better in the field than England were.

'Sensational' Sharma catch dismisses Jones for four

    WOW!

Deepti Sharma with an absolute beauty!

Kranti Goud has both openers again but this one is all Sharma. Short and wide, Amy Jones slashes hard but Sharma leaps one-handed, full-length, and somehow hangs on with the ball practically behind her.

    Incredible.

Emma Lamb joins Amy Jones in the middle and India get spin into the attack earlier with Deepti Sharma.

Just one from the over as England are already in rebuild mode.

That's a decent ball to be fair. This is a really good start from India's seamers.

That is a beautiful piece of bowling from Kranti Goud, a nice young seamer.

    No doubt about that one!

Kranti Goud is such an exciting prospect and that's exactly why. The perfect length, dragging Beaumont forward and it nips back in sharply to sneak between bat and pad.

Beaumont knows she's got a good one there but it's a horror start for England.

  14. Eng 7-0published at 0.3 overs

    Hello!

Great response from the quick as she traps Tammy Beaumont on the pad. Huge appeal but Harmanpreet Kaur eventually decides against the review. There's encouraging movement out there for Goud, though.

England will have to run well. They don't necessarily need to hit all the big shots straight away, they've got time to build a platform and go from there.

  16. Eng 4-0published at 0.1 overs

India have got four spinners in their XI, a smart move considering England's well-known weakness against slower bowling.

But it's young seamer Kranti Goud to start the innings. She is raw but packs plenty of potential, shown by her dismissals of both England openers in the first match of Southampton.

Not the best start here though - she starts with a no-ball and Amy Jones flogs the free hit for three.

There's going to be a lot of spin turning up in this innings so it will be interesting to see how England will tackle this.

    Cheers, Adwaidh.

England need something record-breaking if they are to win this ODI and the series. Their target is 319, and their record chase in the format is 264.

Over to you, Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones.

I am hoping that Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones can withstand the Indian bowlers and put on a score like they did against the West Indies earlier in the season. Really poor bowling by Lauren Bell and Lindsey Smith to gift India so many runs.
