The last two games that England played at Durham were wins. In 2023 they beat Sri Lanka and in 2024 they beat New Zealand. Both games they had over 100 balls to spare.

  2. Ind 3-0published at 1 over

A cautious start, as both Rawal and Smriti Mandhana get off the mark with singles.

There's a hint of swing for the seamers.

India have come here and played some really good cricket. To come up here in the final game, these are the pressured games that England want to play in so when they get to the World Cup, it won't be something new.

  4. Ind 0-0published at 0.1 overs

Lauren Bell gets away with a full toss first ball, as Pratika Rawal drives sweetly but straight to the fielder at point.

Generally Durham would suit a Kate Cross type bowler but it's an opportunity for the other bowlers to put their hands up and have a crack at it ahead of the World Cup.

I don't know if Harmanpreet Kaur said the wrong thing by accident because it just seems like one of those grounds, one of those days where you'd bowl first.

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt: "I wanted to bowl. So that's alright.

"We have had a pretty hard-fought series against the Indians so far and it comes down to the last game. We are really happy to be put under that pressure and to step up as a group.

"Everyone was really flexible [at Lord's], which is very important for us to get the team right."

On team news: "We have a couple of changes. Lauren Filer and Alice Davidson-Richards come in for Maia Bouchier and Em Arlott."

  9. Postpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 22 July

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur: "We are going to bat first. We are going with four spinners today, so that will be good for them.

"We have really played good cricket in this series and we want to continue like that and carry the momentum.

"We were a bit here and there in the last game at Lord's. But we all came together and have had a good discussion. Hopefully, we will come away with a good result."

On team news: "We have one change. Arundhati Reddy is not playing today and Radha Yadav is in."

Different day, different pitch etc etc but I'm surprised India have chosen to bat first.

Firstly there is rain around. It is always an advantage to be chasing in a shortened match.

The pitches have also been flat here all summer.

  11. India win the toss and batpublished at 12:48 British Summer Time 22 July

    Interesting.

England benefitted enormously from batting second in the rain-affected encounter at Lord's on Saturday, but India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has chosen to set a target.

Dunkley hits four to seal eight wicket win for England

    Good afternoon!

    Who's for a series decider?

The good news is that the weather is clear in Durham (for now), and it's the perfect opportunity for England - who have really struggled in pressure moments over the past couple of years - to challenge themselves in a must-win situation.

Team news and the result of the toss to come next.
