Summary

  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 23.2 overs

    Sutherland c Wyatt-Hodge b Filer 10 (Aus 124-4)

Danni Wyatt-Hodge could catch these spiders with her bare hands, nevermind cricket balls.

England keep fighting as she clings on to a high catch as Annabel Sutherland miscues a sharp Lauren Filer bouncer.

    Still in it? Just.

The pitch has flattened out but the fact is Australia just bowled in expectational areas and England haven't as much.

These two are going quite easily out in the middle.

  3. Aus 123-3published at 23 overs

Need 82 more runs to win

Sophie Ecclestone dots up through her latest over and gets excited as the final ball is slashed in the air.

It drops well short of the fielder, however, and Ecclestone's hands go onto her head.

  4. Aus 122-3published at 22 overs

    Target 205

Lauren Filer gets into an impressive splits position in the attempt to stop the ball in her follow-through. She need not have bothered. Annabel Sutherland's drive clatters straight into the stumps.

I'm still waiting for someone to identify the spider. Come on, your country needs you.

Alyssa Healy is back in good form. She has had an exceptional innings here and this will give her a lot of confidence for the rest of this series.

  6. 50 runs

50 for Alyssa Healypublished at 21.3 overs

News of the spider clearly hasn't reached the middle.

Alyssa Healy moves serenely to her fifty from 53 balls.

    Lauren Filer is back...

Australia should get to this total comfortably but a couple of wickets might change things.

England have had a few good spells, Lauren Bell in particular, but they have missed the right lengths on the whole.

  9. Aus 120-3published at 21 overs

    Target 205

Someone reading this must be able to identify that spider?

Does Ffion need to panic? Maybe this match could be called off...

    Cheers Tim.

The Aussies need 88 runs from 179 balls. England effectively need seven wickets.

Time for Matthew Henry. He'll take you through the remainder of Australia's chase.

  13. Aus 116-3published at 20 overs

Another Charlie Dean drag down is punished by Annabel Sutherland, who pulls it fine for four. Too easy for Australia against the off-spinner today.

Sophie Ecclestone has changed her pace and length really nicely to prevent the Australia batters from getting comfortable.

You sense a bit of frustration from her as she is trying everything to put some momentum into this England side.

  15. Aus 111-3published at 19 overs

Annabel Sutherland whacks Sophie Ecclestone high down the ground off the penultimate delivery of the England spinner's second over. It's given as six but the third umpire checks it and the ball fell just short of the rope.

  16. Aus 106-4published at 18.2 overs

A run out chance for England as Annabel Sutherland sets off from the non-striker's end after Alyssa Healy dabs one into the off side.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge shies at the stumps, but it misses. That would have been extremely close. Almost certainly out.

  17. Aus 105-3published at 18 overs

Charlie Dean is beavering away at the other end. Annabel Sutherland starts cautiously and happy to block four dots out to the England off-spinner.

England badly needed that wicket - Australia were just pulling away from them.

Beth Mooney tried to hit it a bit squarer for six again but Danni Wyatt-Hodge didn't even have to move. She took the catch easily, just five metres from the boundary.

Sophie Ecclestone is not number one in the world for no reason.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.4 overs

    Mooney c Wyatt-Hodge b Ecclestone 28 (Aus 104-3)

    Six and out.

Same approach from Beth Mooney to Sophie Ecclestone but the England left-arm spinner comes out on top this time. Ecclestone holds her length back a touch and Mooney skies it with Danni Wyatt-Hodge pouching the catch.
