  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 51 balls left

    Rehan c Mousley b Howell 25 (Rockets 77-2)

    Slapped to the cover fielder!

Rehan Ahmed's entertaining 15-ball innings comes to an end as he throws his hands at Howell's delivery and finds Dan Mousley.

Who is drawing this stuff on Hawk-Eye? It is another 'the ball has gone off to get milk' situation.

How has that not hit middle and leg? Who is drawing this stuff? Unbelievable.

  3. Not outpublished at 55 balls left

    Rockets 74-1 - 49 runs needed

    Missing leg!

That looked out, but ball tracking says otherwise.

Just four singles off Howell's first five - he'll bowl five more.

  4. Rockets reviewpublished at 55 balls left

It's Benny Howell into the attack... and does he have a wicket with his fifth ball?

He strikes Tom Banton on the pad as he tries to play across the line - up goes the umpire's finger.

    Banton is going to review.

There's not too many of those orange flags being waved around now.

I think the Birmingham Phoenix supporters are a little bit astounded at what they are seeing from the home team.

It is going from bad to almost ridiculous.

  6. Rockets 70-1published at 60 balls left

    53 runs needed

    Absolutely lashed through mid-wicket!

A third four for Rehan Ahmed, on the pull and beating the diving fielder on the ropes.

  7. dropped catch

Rehan dropped on 17published at 62 balls left

    Four, four, put down!

Rehan Ahmed sends Tim Southee's first two balls to the boundary at mid-off and around mid-wicket, but should be dismissed from the following delivery.

Another hook, it should be the easiest of takes for Trent Boult but he spills the chance.

    The batters run a single.

It's getting to that stage now where I think Birmingham Phoenix have got to roll the dice a little bit.

They need to get a little bit creative with the fields and go a little bit more on the attack somehow.

  9. Rockets 56-1published at 65 balls left

    67 runs needed

Just one more single from the rest of Milne's five.

Phoenix have actually bowled a reasonable share of dot balls, it's just that they've conceded numerous boundaries as well.

  10. 6 runs

Rockets 55-1published at 69 balls left

    68 runs needed

Fifty up, and what a way to do it.

Adam Milne's first delivery is sent on its way - plonked effortlessly over square leg by Tom Banton.

    He's on 29 from 15.

  11. Rockets 49-1published at 70 balls left

    74 runs needed

Rehan Ahmed sends the next ball down to fine leg again - this time Aneurin Donald blocks the ball, stopping a four.

Dan Mousley follows up and after a bit of a fumble throws back in, while the batters run two.

  12. 6 runs

    Hooked for six this time!

Rehan Ahmed gets his first boundary, swivelling to lift Adam Milne's ball out towards fine leg.

Aneurin Donald is on the ropes but the shot beats his dive.

  13. 6 runs

Rockets 40-1published at 75 balls left

    83 runs needed

    And another one!

Similar area, less wrist on this one as he pivots his body and dispatches Southee's delivery.

  14. 6 runs

Rockets 34-1published at 77 balls left

    89 runs needed

Tim Southee continues for a second five at the other end... maybe he'll wish he hadn't.

It's a lovely whippy six from Tom Banton, using his wrists to lift Southee over the boundary at backward square.

  15. Rockets 27-1published at 80 balls left

    96 runs needed

Rehan Ahmed in at three for Rockets - his batting has come on leaps and bounds this summer and that sees him promoted up the order by his side.

He runs a leg bye square off his first delivery.

Joe Root is bowledImage source, Getty Images

Joe Root? Never heard of him. I'm sure Tim Southee's pockets are a bit heavier now.

It is a good thing for Birmingham Phoenix seeing the back of Joe Root.

It is a bit disappointing though because lots of the people here have come to see the greats play. It is sad that he has gone already.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 81 balls left

    Root b Southee 6 (Rockets 26-1)

England's bowling coach dismisses Joe Root!

Tim Southee has spent the summer looking after England's seamers, but he's back to playing in The Hundred and he removes Root with his fourth ball.

And ugly swipe across the line from the Rockets batter and Southee's delivery breaks the stumps.

  18. Rockets 25-0published at 85 balls left

    98 runs needed

Nicely done by Tom Banton, turning Trent Boult's inswinger away into the leg side and beating the fielder on the boundary.

Boult sends down three dot balls but Banton finds the ropes from the final ball of the set, edging over his leg stump and away.

  19. Rockets 17-0published at 90 balls left

    106 runs needed

Here's the second of Birmingham Phoenix's three New Zealand seamers, with Adam Milne coming into the attack.

His fourth ball slips down the leg side and heads to the ropes for five wides.

Phoenix can't afford a lot of those.

Trent Rockets don't actually need to do anything extreme or extraordinary here.

They have 100 balls to score 122 runs, which for the calibre of these guys shouldn't be that bad.

Birmingham Phoenix do have quality bowlers though, so you just don't know.
