India have been set a target of 170 or lower 21 times at home in T20Is, only twice have they failed to chase it down, both against New Zealand (127 target Nagpur in 2016, 168 target Chennai in 2012).

165 doesn’t feel enough on a pitch where the boundaries were cleared nine times by England. They left around 20 runs out there,

Livingstone will have to bowl his full allocation, you would imagine.

Here here! To Gus in Durham. The worst part of today's performance is the endless negativity from England fans. Give the guys a break. Playing quality spin in India is as tough as it gets. 165 might be competitive.

Mark Wood and Jofra Archer bring the genuine pace to the England side and we saw signs of bounce in the track at times during that England innings.

However, a lot looks to be resting on the shoulders of Adil Rashid and his spin.

Dew, smog, there's a smorgasbord of climatic conditions for India to battle but you'd back them to chase this down - right?

Going by some of the comments you'd think England had been bowled out for 100... Probably below par but there's a game to be played defending 165/170

It's under par by about 20 runs you'd think but England have a chance. That momentum from the knock by Brydon Carse has given them a chance.

No spectacular finish to England's innings.

Jofra Archer digs a full delivery from Arshdeep Singh out into the leg side and he and Mark Wood scamper a couple.

England feel about 20 or 30 runs light here.

A dot and a single from Mark Wood off Arshdeep Singh. Jofra Archer on strike for the final ball of England's innings.

  12. Eng 162-9published at 19.3 overs

Scrounge was a touch unfair. This is a classy shot from Mark Wood, who opens the face and guides Arshdeep Singh down through the vacant third region for four.

Arshdeep Singh to bowl the final over. What can England's last-wicket pair scrounge here?

It’s actually our sustained aggression that has put us in a position to get to a defendable total. Despite losing wickets regularly the score has keep increasing and 170 wouldn’t be the end of the world.

A dot and a wicket to finish the over for Hardik Pandya.

Adil Rashid swishes at one dug into the pitch by the India all-rounder and feathers a top edge into the gloves of Sanju Samson.

The India wicketkeeper gleefully tosses the ball into the air in celebration.

Adil Rashid plays an extravagant aerial drive wide of the crease, but the ball plops into the outfield. Jofra Archer times the proverbial out of it next ball but picks out the fielder. Two more runs to the total.

England's approach is giving them a chance to get the runs they need. They are not just knocking it around and could get 170-175.

It's not been a super Saturday for England fans to date...

That Carse run-out is the cherry on top of the awful, embarrassing cake that today has been for England cricket.

    Tom, Grimsby

Honestly, you'd think you couldn't make this up, but unfortunately you can. I've now watched 2 games today of 100% ineptitude from English cricket - beyond embarrassing.

Glum faces on the England bench as they watch the fag end of England's innings.

Adil Rashid and Jofra Archer manage to mishit a few singles off Arshdeep Singh attempt to find the boundary.

Archer backs away and throws the kitchen sink at the final ball of the over and thrashes it through the covers for four on the up.
