  1. NZ 175-3published at 34.2 overs

Big appeal from Nahid Rana, who thinks he's got Tom Latham lbw. The umpire, and his teammates, are unmoved and it looks like it was pitching outside leg stump.

Latham dispatches him for four next ball.

Rachin Ravindra has been patiently batting along. Nothing too risky and nothing silly. What a comeback.

  3. NZ 171-3published at 34 overs

    Target 237

Rachin Ravindra slogs Mehidy Hasan Miraz for four to close in on his century.

Another six runs wiped from the target.

  4. NZ 165-3published at 33 overs

A wicket often falls after drinks. Can Mehidy Hasan Miraz work some magic for Bangladesh?

New Zealand need 72 runs from 17 overs.

  5. drinks break

Drinks break - NZ 165-3published at 33 overs

    Target 237

An excellent over from Nahid Rana on his return to the attack, conceding just one run - and that was an overthrow.

That fourth wicket continues to elude Bangladesh, however.

What a chance this was for Bangladesh to throw a spanner in the works.

A tough one. They're starting to tire in the field.

  7. NZ 164-3published at 32.1 overs

Oh no! Did that carry? Is that a missed opportunity for Bangladesh?

Rachin Ravindra, on 93, flicks the ball towards Mehidy Hasan Miraz at backward point but he can't get his fingers under it.

It should probably go down as a drop but it wasn't the easiest of chances for the fielder.

  8. NZ 164-3published at 32 overs

    Target 237

Mustafizur Rahman tried a little bit of everything in that over, mixing in a yorker and a short ball in search of a breakthrough.

Alas, Rachin Ravindra and Tom Latham are more than up for the challenge.

New Zealand are cantering along to victory. It has been a steady chase from them.

Bangladesh have run out of things to throw at the wall.

  10. NZ 160-3published at 31 overs

    Target 237

Tom Latham dashes two before participating in a little strike rotation. Rachin Ravindra adds another boundary to his collection, slicing away for four through backward point.

This is all too comfortable for New Zealand.

This partnership (which is worth 79 between Rachin Ravindra and Tom Latham) is threatening to take the game away from Bangladesh.

    86 needed from 20 overs

New Zealand pass 150 with 20 overs still untouched.

They're meandering sedately towards the semi-finals.

The problem is also the field.

Bangladesh have been conservative at times. The bowlers are trying their best, but you have to create wickets by the field.

They've been happy to set conventional fields and it has been easy for Tom Latham.

  14. NZ 148-3published at 29.1 overs

The Shanto bowling experiment is cancelled after one over. Back to Mustafizur Rahman.

  15. NZ 146-3published at 29 overs

    Target 237

Another six ticked off the target by New Zealand.

For all the boundaries we've seen from the bat of Rachin Ravindra, what New Zealand have done particularly well is keep the scoreboard ticking over.

You have got to try break this partnership.

You have got to throw New Zealand a bone in order to break this partnership.

For me, this game in 40 overs is over.

  17. NZ 140-3published at 28 overs

    Target 237

That experiment from Bangladesh didn't quite go to plan, did it?

12 runs off Najmul Hossain Shanto's opening over, including back-to-back boundaries for Rachin Ravindra who is now striking above a run-a-ball.

  18. 6 runs

    NZ 135-3published at 27.4 overs

Take that! Najmul Hossain Shanto only bowls once every Preston Guild and from that delivery, you can see why.

Rachin Ravindra sees the short ball coming and smashes it over mid-wicket for six.

  19. NZ 128-3published at 27.1 overs

Wait... a change of heart from Bangladesh.

It's going to be the skipper himself, Najmul Hossain Shanto.

  20. NZ 128-3published at 27 overs

    Target 237

    More runs!

I make that 17 in two overs since I replaced Jonty (not that we're competing).

Here comes Mahmudullah to try and make the breakthrough for Bangladesh.
