  1. Ban 223-7published at 47 overs

Taskin Ahmed joins the boundary party.

He sets his sights on Will O'Rourke's third delivery, sends it skywards with a monstrous swing, and is rewarded with a one-bounce four.

He finishes the over with a few wild swings and misses.

  2. Ban 218-7published at 46.1 overs

Five wides from Will O'Rourke, whose bowling has been quite hit and miss in Rawalpindi.

Bangladesh will accept that gift with glee.

Beautiful shot from Jaker Ali. A low hanging six, it caught enough flight to see it over the rope.

    Much needed.

  4. 6 runs

    Ban 213-7published at 46 overs

Jaker Ali gets the scoreboard moving again in style, with a thumping six over deep midwicket.

There's some good strike rotation too as 11 runs come off the over.

The scoreboard is grinding to a halt so here's a highlight from Rishad Hossain's cameo innings

Dot ball, after dot ball. I think Bangladesh will be disappointed to have not been competitive today.

New Zealand have bowled well, but they've not done anything special.

  7. Ban 202-7published at 45 overs

Will O'Rourke comes round the wicket to new batter Taskin Ahmed and is rewarded with a maiden. There wasn't an attacking stroke in that over.

Rishad Hossain's dismissal has taken all of the energy out of Bangladesh.

  8. Ban 202-7published at 44 overs

A wicket, a wide, and a terrible piece of fielding from Rachin Ravindra on the boundary to gift Jaker Ali four runs. He completely overcooked his slide.

Matt Henry's seventh over had a little bit of everything.

That was a very Rishad Hossain innings.

That's what is expected from him in this team. Come in at the end and score quickly.

    Rishad c Santner b Henry 26 (Ban 196-7)

The entertainer departs. Farewell, Rishad Hossain, it was fun while it lasted.

There's absolutely no timing in his shot as he tries to dispatch Matt Henry to the rope and Mitchell Santner is a safe pair of hands at mid-off.

  11. Ban 196-6published at 43 overs

Mitchell Santner finishes his allocation with yet another tight over. Three from it and figures of 0-44 for New Zealand's captain.

    Entertaining is the word, Roushan.

Rishad Hossain has provided some much-needed impetus after a slow 40 overs. He's certainly woken me up.

Good intent from Rishad Hossain. Rishad has come here to entertain.

He's got that strike-rate for a reason. He doesn't stay at the crease for very long, but when he's there it's entertaining.

  14. Ban 193-6published at 42 overs

Another over, another boundary for Rishad Hossain, this time an inelegant edge past the wicketkeeper for four.

Rishad Hossain's six is Bangladesh's first since the ninth over.

Twelve runs come off the over - the first time they've scored more than 10 in an over since the 14th.

    This is more like it.

  16. 6 runs

    Ban 181-6published at 40.3 overs

Rishad Hossain smacks Mitchell Santner for six! It only just clears the man on the rope but they all count!

    Is 250 on for Bangladesh?

These are two batters that can play aggressively.

With 10 overs left I think the best thing to do is play their natural game and get some runs on the board.

You've got nothing to lose. Go for it.

I think Rishad Hossain has listened to us. He has had enough of that blocking malarkey.

Time to put the foot down.

  19. Ban 172-6published at 40 overs

Better intent from Rishad Hossain against Matt Henry.

He clears mid-on to pick up two early in the over. Two balls later, he dances down to a yorker (no connection but at least he tried!). And he finishes with a big four through long-on.

Bangladesh need more of that in the final 10.

  20. Ban 165-6published at 39 overs

A maiden from Mitchell Santner. How often do you see that in the 39th over of an ODI?

Rishad Hossain clearly isn't in a hurry to get going.
