  1. Ban 165-6published at 38 overs

A lovely over from Will O'Rourke, who picks up the big wicket of Najmul Hossain Shanto and concedes just two runs.

    A wide - New Zealand's 12th - is the only blot.

The man Bangladesh didn't want to get out.

Najmul Hossain Shanto has been trying to hold this innings together, but he's never looked fluent.

It was a shot he's been playing well, but that got too big on him.

Commentator's curse strikes again. My apologies to Bangladesh.

After a couple of promising overs, another wicket falls and unfortunately for Bangladesh, it's Najmul Hossain Shanto.

His top-edge goes high into the Rawalpindi sky and who is underneath it? Michael Bracewell, of course, diving full length to complete the catch.

  4. Ban 163-5published at 37 overs

Seven more on the board for Bangladesh. Is there life in this innings yet?

More of that please. Use your feet and hit the ball straight - beautiful shot.

A bit of bravery and back yourself.

  6. Ban 163-5published at 36.5 overs

Boom! That's more like it from Jaker Ali.

Steps down to Glenn Phillips and sends the ball straight back over the bowler's head for a one-bounce four.

Boundaries in back-to-back overs for Bangladesh. When did that last happen?

Looking at the wickets to fall, did someone tell Bangladesh it was Michael Bracewell's birthday?

    Rich in Peterborough

  8. Ban 156-5published at 36 overs

That's a better over from Bangladesh. A much-needed boundary from the bat of Najmul Hossain Shanto and seven runs added to the total.

Glenn Phillips will continue from the other end.

Finally! Seven overs since the last one, Bangladesh have a boundary.

  10. Ban 155-5published at 35.2 overs

It's all happening in the 36th over!

It's not a fantastic delivery from Will O'Rourke and Najmul Hossain Shanto gives it the treatment, driving down the ground for four. Is this a turning point for Bangladesh?

It has been a tough grind for the Bangladesh batters. It's synonymous with a team which is low in confidence.

They're a team which is very much in a transition.

  12. 150 runs

    Ban 151-5

Najmul Hossain Shanto dashes two to bring up Bangladesh's 150.

  13. Ban 149-5published at 35 overs

Well Michael, Bangladesh certainly haven't targeted Glenn Phillips' first six deliveries. Three singles from the over.

I wonder what Bangladesh coach Phil Simmons would have said to his batters during the drinks break.

Do they decide to target Glenn Phillips?

  15. Ban 147-5published at 34.1 overs

Glenn Phillips comes into the attack for New Zealand and concedes a single off his first delivery of the day.

What would be a good score for Bangladesh? Have they given away their wickets or have New Zealand, in particular Michael Bracewell, just been too good? Are New Zealand trophy contenders?

Let us know your thoughts on today's action (or anything else for that matter!).

  17. drinks break

Drinks break - Ban 146-5published at 34 overs

The good news for Bangladesh is Najmul Hossain Shanto and Jaker Ali are building a partnership. The bad news is they've only scored 28 runs off 47 balls.

With 16 overs left in their innings and five wickets in hand, when do they try and kick on?

    Time for drinks.

I would be braver and go for the jugular.

Entice Najmul Hossain Shanto to play something through that off side.

  19. Ban 143-5published at 33 overs

Michael Carberry is spot on on commentary. Meandering really is the word to describe this innings.

Bangladesh pick up three singles off Kyle Jamieson. New Zealand go through the motions as another over ticks by.

What's been disappointing from a batting perspective is the way Bangladesh have played Michael Bracewell.

It's like they've gone back into their shell playing from the crease.
