Doesn't get away with it this time!

Another cross-batted swipe and there's no timing. It loops straight up into the air and wicketkeeper Aasif Sheikh takes the simplest of catches.

One of Bangladesh's most experienced batters goes and this has been a horrendous start for them.

The job is not done yet for Bangladesh. They know a slip up will see them lose their Super 8 place.

They'll want to win comprehensively so they have confidence for the Super 8s too.

  3. Ban 20-2published at 4 overs

    It doesn't last very long.

Shakib Al Hasan is almost run out going for a risky single, only saved by a wayward throw. Litton Das then swings and misses outside off stump and is nearly stumped, before he slogs one up in the air that lands safely in front of the square leg fielder.

Litton does end the over with a nicely-timed sweep for four, however.

  4. Ban 13-2published at 3 overs

At last, some sensible cricket from Bangladesh as the experienced duo of Shakib and Litton Das tick a couple of singles off Sompal Kami's second over.

  5. Ban 11-2published at 2 overs

Experienced all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is in early and he's got a lot of responsibility to bear.

He gets off the mark nicely though, threading a boundary through the covers.

It is about 5:30am in Nepal right now and if I was awake I'd be waking my family members up!

This is not the script that Bangladesh will have wrote. It is up to their middle order again.

The skipper goes! Nepal's perfect start continues.

Lovely bit of bowling from the off-spinner Dipendra Singh Airee, getting one to drift and turn through Najmul Hossain Shanto's defensive prod and clip the top of off stump.

Bangladesh are wobbling in pursuit of a place in the last eight.

Bangladesh's bowling attack has been particularly good so far. The conditions should suit their bowling attack.

Their top order has struggled though and this is a chance to find some form ahead of playing tougher competition soon hopefully.

  10. Not outpublished at 1 over

    Ban 3-1

Litton Das breathes a sigh of relief as the replays show the ball missing leg stump.

The fielding team had given up on the appeal but the umpire has triggered very, very slowly.

  12. Bangladesh reviewpublished at 1 over

    What's going on?

Two in the first over! Litton Das is given lbw after only a half-hearted review from the bowler, but he's having a look.

  13. Ban 2-1published at 0.3 overs

Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto is in far earlier than he'd have liked but he gets off the mark with a couple from his second ball to ease some pressure.

That is a horrifying start for Bangladesh and exactly the start they didn't want.

    First ball!

Sompal Kami drops one short, bit of a loosener, and it takes Tanzid Hasan by surprise. He gets it too high on the bat after inexplicably charging down the pitch and it plops up back to the bowler for a simple return catch!

    The perfect start for Nepal.

Litton Das has the responsibility of opening, alongside Tanzid Hasan.

We can expect plenty of spin from Nepal but it's seamer Sompal Kami who will get things started.

Nepal captain Rohit Paudel: "We'll bowl first because we want to utilise the conditions. We're expecting the second innings to be difficult because of dew.

"You need to come back as professional cricketers from that [the one-run defeat by South Africa], you don't have time to dwell. We're all looking forward to this match.

"A win would be very special for our country. The fans have been so supportive and I'd like to say thank you to all the fans at home for supporting us."
