  1. Eng 79-2published at 11 overs

Poor start from Jane Maguire, with her medium pace.

The first ball is short and drifting down the leg side, so Tammy Beaumont just has to help it on its way for four, and the last is too full which she pumps down the ground for the same result.

Beaumont moves to 44 from 35 balls.

  2. Eng 69-2published at 10 overs

Freya Sargent's successful over ends in a bit of frustration, with Scholfield sweeping to the boundary for four.

Probably too full to sweep. Nicely flighted from Freya Sargent, it just went on with the arm.

    Armitage c Hunter b Sargent 15 (Eng 65-2)

    And there's one!

Hollie Armitage tries to sweep the spinner from outside off stump, but finds herself stretching for it and gets an edge through to the keeper Amy Hunter, who takes a sharp catch.

Paige Scholfield is in at number four.

  5. Eng 63-1published at 9 overs

Good comeback from young Alice Tector, just six from her second over but Ireland are desperate for wickets. England have got a lot of firepower to come from their batting line-up.

  6. Eng 57-1published at 8 overs

Tammy Beaumont's step count over the past few days must be through the roof.

Hollie Armitage brings out an array of sweeps, but is unable to find the boundary so they run three twos in the first over of spin from Freya Sargent.

    Crunched!

Tammy Beaumont is in some fine form, driving beautifully for four more before whipping one through the leg side for a couple.

12 from Alice Tector's first over, an expensive start.

  8. Eng 37-1published at 6 overs

Too full from Alana Dalzell, ensuring England finish the over well as Tammy Beaumont crunches it for four.

Frustration for the bowler after five good balls had built a bit of pressure.

  9. Eng 29-1published at 5 overs

Hollie Armitage is off the mark with a boundary from a streaky edge down to deep third.

She is out there with Tammy Beaumont on 11, after Emma Lamb was out for the same score.

The game is now 22 overs per side, so that means England's powerplay is now done.

Orla Prendergast has two balls left of her third over.

There we go, only six minutes to go until play restarts.

There are blue skies overhead again. This day has been truly bizarre.

The umpires and ground staff are just taking a look at a few areas of concern near the bowlers' run ups, but the umpires purposefully stride away with their umbrellas down, and that's a promising sign!

    Let's try again.

    The covers are coming off.

Well, it was fun while it lasted.

It is pouring down and the covers are being dragged on but they've only got the sheets to cover the square so it's taking while.

We need 20 overs each to constitute a game and it's already down to 25-a-side, so we haven't got loads of time to play with now.

That's what they would have wanted, Ireland. Emma Lamb looking slightly more comfortable, an extra delivery in the over and just having a waft at it. She's had a difficult series, a top score of 18, out for 11 today.

    Lamb c J Maguire b Dalzell 11 (Eng 22-1)

    Dalzell responds perfectly!

Emma Lamb slices a wide one to Jane Maguire, who takes a brilliant diving catch low to the ground at cover.

A disappointing tour for Lamb. She finishes with scores of 4, 18 and 11.

Alana Dalzell drops it a little bit too short and Emma Lamb pounces on it for her first boundary.

The rain is starting to get heavier.

  19. Eng 15-0published at 3 overs

A brief rain shower triggers a few nervous glances between the umpires but it seems to have passed already, so play continues for now.

Tammy Beaumont strikes the first boundaries of the innings, skipping down the pitch to Prendergast and slashing the ball past point before an agricultural heave through mid-wicket.

  20. Eng 7-0published at 2 overs

Alana Dalzell, the right-arm seamer, is making her debut in the series today.

She starts well, just four runs from the over as England continue to search for their first boundary.
