  • SA go level with India on four points after three matches each

  1. SA 100-5published at 28 overs

    Target 252

100 up for South Africa with a single for Laura Wolvaardt.

They need 152 runs from 22 overs.

  2. SA 99-5published at 27 overs

    Target 252

Laura Wolvaardt's single is the only scoring shot.

Am I enjoying India bowling Kaur from both ends, with captain Harmanpreet bringing herself back into the attack for the 27th? Yup, enormously, thank you.

She motions for her team-mates to hurry up at the end of the over. Must have plans.

  3. 50 runs

50 for Laura Wolvaardtpublished at 26.4 overs

    SA 99-5

After three frustrating dot balls, Laura Wolvaardt finally gets the single she needs to bring up her half-century off 81 balls. She's keeping her side in this match.

  4. SA 98-5published at 26 overs

    Target 252

The required rate is above a run-a-ball and for the first time since the 16th over, South Africa have scored more than six runs off an over.

Laura Wolvaardt runs three and Chloe Tryon finally gets one away, striking Amanjot Kaur through point for four.

  5. SA 91-5published at 25 overs

    Target 252

Harmanpreet Kaur doesn't keep herself on for a second over. Disappointing.

Sneh Rana concedes a single and a wide.

At the halfway stage, South Africa need 161 runs from 25 overs. India were 100-5 at the same stage but then came Richa Ghosh.

Chloe Tyron is an aggressive player naturally. She needs to play like that.

  7. SA 89-5published at 24 overs

    Target 252

Oh my. Chloe Tryon is off the mark with a single but she nearly hoicked the ball straight to Smriti Mandhana in the deep. That would have been less than ideal for South Africa.

  8. SA 86-5published at 23 overs

    Target 252

Spinner Harmanpreet Kaur, bowling in an ODI for the first time in nearly a year and without an ODI wicket since July 2022, concedes a single from her first over.

  9. SA 85-5published at 22 overs

    Target 252

Chloe Tryon (0 off 8) is still waiting for her first run of the day. She went after a full toss from Shree Charani but could only pop it back to the bowler.

A maiden for Charani... and now time for the captain herself as Harmanpreet Kaur enters the attack.

  10. SA 85-5published at 21 overs

    Target 252

    Thanks Sam.

It looked like it was going to be a maiden from Deepti Sharma but the final ball of the over is turned away to the boundary by Laura Wolvaardt.

Deepti Sharma goes big with her appeal but no one else is interested.

  11. SA 81-5published at 20 overs

    Target 252

South Africa are in big trouble as Chloe Tryon comes in and India might fancy get this one wrapped up in a hurry.

To see if they can manage that, it's over to Elizabeth Botcherby to take you through to the conclusion.

It's going to be challenging for all the batters to come against spinners of this ability.

    Jafta lbw b Charani 14 (SA 81-5)

    Three reds!

Sinalo Jafta always wants to go back to the spinners and, while it has worked well for her at times, it costs her this time.

You can't afford to miss many if you want to play on the back foot and once she did, the South African was in trouble.

Shree Charani was convinced, having fired this one in at the stumps, and ball-tracking backs her up. It was crashing into leg stump.

  14. Umpire reviewpublished at 19.4 overs

    SA 81-4

Sinalo Jafta goes back to Shree Charani and is hit in front.

There is a huge appeal, Charani is almost angry that the umpire isn't giving it more quickly.

Eventually the umpire's finger goes up but Jafta quickly reviews.

  15. SA 79-4published at 19 overs

    Target 252

Sinalo Jafta makes good contact with a slog-sweep but there is a fielder at deep mid-wicket so she has to settle for a single.

It's one of four in the over, less than the required rate but more intent from South Africa.

  16. SA 75-4published at 18 overs

    Target 252

Angled down the leg side by Shree Charani and the ball brushes off Sinalo Jafta's thigh pad, beats the wicketkeeper and runs away for four.

It's given as runs, too, so that's a bonus for Jafta.

  17. SA 70-4published at 17 overs

    Target 252

Another over goes by with just a couple from it.

South Africa obviously have to be slightly wary with four wickets down already but the required rate is slowly creeping up as well.

It's a touch over 5.5 an over now.

If anybody is going to catch it, it's Jemimah.

  19. dropped catch

Jafta dropped on 5published at 16.1 overs

    SA 69-4

Nearly a stunning catch from Jemimah Rodrigues at mid-wicket!

A careless shot from Sinalo Jafta through mid-wicket, just chipping the ball into an area where she was only ever going to get a single.

Rodrigues flings herself to her right and gets a hand to it but can't quite hold on. It goes down as a drop but it would have been a blinding catch.
