  • SA go level with India on four points after three matches each

  1. SA 22-2published at 7 overs

    Target 252

Another good over from Kranti Gaud but it nearly ends with a boundary as Laura Wolvaardt pulls firmly behind square.

Excellent fielding in the deep keeps it to a single but with three overs left in the powerplay, South Africa are crawling along.

  2. dropped catch

Kapp dropped on 1published at 6.1 overs

    SA 20-2

Big missed opportunity for India to turn the screw!

Marizanne Kapp flashes the ball to backward point off Kranti Gaud but Pratika Rawal can't hold onto the catch as she dives forward.

South Africa will hope that becomes a very costly drop.

  3. SA 20-2published at 6 overs

    Target 252

Marizanne Kapp is out to join Laura Wolvaardt with the Proteas wobbling.

I fancy this pair will have to stay together for a while if South Africa are going to chase this down.

India will be eyeing another couple of quick wickets to really take control.

That was the worst ball that Amanjot has bowled. A tricky situation for South Africa and Sune Luus will be kicking herself.

No doubt there was bat involved this time!

Having hit the previous ball for four, Sune Luus chases a very wide ball from Amanjot Kaur and feathers it through to Richa Ghosh.

Luus was given a life in Amanjot's previous over but she doesn't make the most of it. South Africa are in trouble early in the chase.

  6. SA 14-1published at 5 overs

    Target 252

Width from Kranti Gaud and it's punished by Laura Wolvaardt, who flays the ball away through point for four.

    SA 10-1 | Target 252

Well, that might be the tiniest murmur on UltraEdge I've ever seen used as evidence of bat involved.

It barely moved from the flat line but the third umpire decides that it's enough to stay with the on-field decision.

South Africa will be delighted about that because ball-tracking shows that it was going on to thump into leg stump!

Sune Luus survives, India will argue very fortuitously.

    SA 10-1 | Target 252

India go up for an lbw shout against Sune Luus to end a tidy Amanjot Kaur over but it looks to be sliding down leg.

The umpire agrees but India send it upstairs...

  10. SA 8-1published at 3 overs

    Target 252

Sune Luus is the new batter for South Africa, who need to move on from the loss of Tazmin Brits quickly.

Kranti Gaud continues to deliver the goods for India. What a talent she is.

That is an unbelievable catch, the ball was almost behind Kranti Gaud and she still held onto it. Unfortunately for South Africa, one of their main threats is gone for a duck.

'Extraordinary' fielding as Brits caught and bowled by Gaud for a duck

    WHAT A CATCH!

Kranti Gaud has just taken a one-handed stunner off her own bowling and Tazmin Brits, after a century in the last match, is gone for a duck.

It's a full ball from Gaud, Brits slams it back at her and the bowler sticks out her left hand to cling on to an astonishing grab.

  13. SA 6-0published at 2 overs

    Target 252

Amanjot Kaur, who missed India's win over Pakistan through illness, takes the other new ball.

She doesn't quite find the same amount of swing as Kranti Gaud but she is on the money, there is a hint of shape.

However, the penultimate ball of the over is dragged down and Laura Wolvaardt hammers to ball past mid-on for four.

  14. SA 1-0published at 1 over

    Target 252

Good start from India seamer Kranti Gaud, who is finding some decent shape away from the two South Africa right-handers.

An inside edge from Proteas skipper Laura Wolvaardt brings the first run of the chase.

Thanks, Elizabeth - and sorry, folks.

In answer to a couple of messages about where we were, unfortunately there were some technical difficulties but we are back in time for the start of the South Africa chase.

As for the one message about "lice commentary", I'm not sure we've ever offered that service...

Hopefully, there are no more issues...

Sorry about that. Technical difficulties took everything down for the thrilling final three overs. Here’s how the rest of India’s innings played out.

Sneh Rana creamed a couple of fours off Marizanne Kapp before being caught by Laura Wolvaardt for 33 (24) in the 49th.

In an action-packed final over, Richa Ghosh survived a run-out off the first ball before smacking Nadine de Klerk for a pair of fours to close in on three figures. However, she was denied a maiden international century after being caught on 94 (77) by Chloe Tryon. The full toss was very tight on height but the decision went in the bowler’s favour.

And de Klerk wrapped up the innings off the penultimate ball, having Shree Charani caught by Wolvaardt for 0.

India finished on 251, with their remarkable recovery from 102-6 led by Ghosh’s bulldozing half-century, which included 11 fours and four sixes, and Rana’s explosive cameo. They put on 88 (53) for the eighth wicket, leaving South Africa to ponder what could have been.

South Africa need 252 to win.

And yet again, SA, like all the teams before them, are slowly letting the opposition back into the game. You don't let them in, you shut the door on them. Give them nothing South Africa!
