  1. Derbyshire all outpublished at 17:28 British Summer Time 23 August

    Derbys 429 v Glamorgan 168

    Anuj DalImage source, Getty Images

What an under-rated cricketer Anuj Dal is.

But a sixth first-class century eludes him as he lofts leg-spinner Mason Crane to Dan Douthwaite at wide mid-on.

His job is done, though, as Derbyshire lead by 261 on first innings and it will be an uphill struggle for Glamorgan from here.

  2. wicket

WICKET Harrison lbw Parkinson 18published at 17:21 British Summer Time 23 August

    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 170-7

Just as I was prepping a 50 partnership post they fall two runs short. Though it was off 125 balls, so they did at least put some overs in the home side's legs.

Calvin Harrison is plumb lbw to Callum Parkinson after a nice bit of drift into his fellow spinner's pads.

Parkinson posted the most expensive figures ever on Durham debut v Warwickshire (2-206) but has looked tidy so far today.

  3. 6 runs

Maximum for Muyeyepublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 23 August

    Worcs 447 v Kent 171 & 37-1

    Fetch that.

Tom Taylor is fractionally short and Tawanda Muyeye hammers it over mid-wicket for six.

The paceman tries to adjust but overpitches and is driven exquisitely through cover for four as the opener moves to 28 from 25 balls.

  4. 50 runs

partnershippublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 23 August

    Middx 179-4 v Northants 207

After that double blast from Ben Sanderson, Middlesex have restored order with a smart half-century stand.

Leus du Plooy is now 32 and Nathan Fernandes 14 as they edge close to the Northants total.

Still 26 overs to send down at Marchant Taylor's.

  5. wicket

WICKET Hammond lbw Green 29published at 17:14 British Summer Time 23 August

    Glos 157-3 v Leics 402

Miles Hammond is a little late on that one, bowled from round the wicket by ben Green, and is given out leg-before.

He put on 65 with Ben Charlesworth, who is 75 not out and has now been joined by James Bracey.

  6. wicket

WICKET Leach c Yates b 1published at 17:14 British Summer Time 23 August

    Warwicks 337 v Somerset 216-9

Another fine one handed grab from Rob Yates in the slips, and Ed Barnard, is now sniffing a five-fer after another pretty successful August of 50 over cricket in Bears colours.

One positive note worth mentioning for away fans; Somerset conceded a first innings lead of 126 do not forget in that incredible 413 run chase on day four just last month before the break for the One-Day Cup.

  7. Postpublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 23 August

    Hants v Essex 270-2

Jordan Cox is having fun with James Fuller.

The first ball of the over is pumped over square for six. The second is guided for four then a two, a dot and a one-handed pull in front of square follow.

It ends with a single and 17 runs all told. If this isn't exactly what Brendan McCullum wants, I'm not sure what is!

  8. wicket

WICKET: Curran c Williams b Aspinwall 8published at 17:11 British Summer Time 23 August

    Surrey 376-5 v Lancs 207

Tom Aspinwall bangs one in from round the wicket.

Sam Curran is never going to refuse the chance to have a hook and he takes it from way outside off but slaps it to mid-on!

A good tumbling catch from Will Williams diving to his right.

  9. Batting point for Yorkshirepublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 23 August

    Yorks 250-7 v Sussex 189

Ungainly shot by Jordan Thompson, but it brings him a single and takes the Yorkshire total to 250.

It looked like he wanted to swat a short ball from Jaydev Unadkat over cover, but changed his mind and paddled it round into the leg-side.

  10. Postpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 23 August

    Worcs 447 v Kent 171 & 21-2

Daniel Bell-Drummond avoids a pair as he square cuts Joe Leach for four. That apart, it's a testing over by the former Worcestershire captain, but DBD survives.

  11. wicket

WICKET Davey b Barnard 3published at 17:03 British Summer Time 23 August

    Warwicks 337 v Somerset 214-8

Former Middlesex opening bat Josh Davey hangs around a while but does not score many.

He is bowled by one from Ed Barnard that clips the top of off stump, again a home seamer beating a mere push from a Somerset seamer attempting to make up for his top order's failures with the bat.

36 runs for Jack Leach, Kasey Aldridge and Jake Ball to get for that pesky first batting bonus point.

    123 they trail by too.

  12. 100 runs

partnership between Elgar and Coxpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 23 August

Dean Elgar and Jordan Cox have cranked the gear stick and are scoring runs at will now.

Their century stand comes in 76 minutes - for reference, Tom Westley's fifty took over three hours!

A first batting bonus point is illuminated on the scoreboard as well. Be wary Surrey!

  13. Postpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 23 August

    Worcs 447 v Kent 171 & 11-1

You can be sure that Tawanda Muyeye will go for his shots despite the situation - as his first innings half-century illustrated.

An off-drive brings him four off Tom Taylor and he adds another boundary, this time off the back foot, to end the over.

  14. wicket

WICKET Hill c FHP b Carson 14published at 16:59 British Summer Time 23 August

    Yorks 248-7 v Sussex 189

George Hill comes down the track to Jack Carson but his shot lacks the courage of his convictions and he is taken at mid-on by Fynn Hudson-Prentice.

Four wickets for Jack Carson, with Yorkshire still two short of their first batting point.

  15. Division Two updatepublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 23 August

The final Derbyshire wicket continues to elude Glamorgan and the home side are now 408-9, having claimed their fourth batting point. Anuj Dal is 83 not out and Pat Brown has eight.

Ben Charlesworth and Miles Hammond have a 50 partnership for Gloucestershire, who are 149-2 against Leicestershire. Charlesworth has 69 not out and Hammond is on 27.

  16. 350 up for Surreypublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 23 August

    Surrey 355-4 v Lancs 204

But Rory Burns is still there for Surrey.

He late-cuts Tom Aspinwall between the wicketkeeper and the solitary slip, standing very wide, for four to bring the 350 up and another batting point.

  17. 50 runs

for Jordan Coxpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 23 August

Jordan Cox strikes the ball for Essex against HampshireImage source, Getty Images

Simply sublime innings from Jordan Cox.

It is a run-a-ball fifty for Cox after he was released by England to head to the south coast.

He's now over 800 runs for the season as well.

  18. wicket

WICKET Compton run out 0published at 16:55 British Summer Time 23 August

    Worcs 447 v Kent 171 & 2-1

    Disaster.

Ben Compton pushes back along the pitch, calls for a single and is still short of his ground as Tom Taylor's backhand flick breaks the stumps at the bowler's end.

    A gift for Worcestershire.

  19. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 23 August

    Worcs 447 v Kent 171 & 0-0

Worcestershire have caught just about everything in this match - but not that one.

After edging Tom Taylor just short of the slips, Tawanda Muyeye flashes at a wide one but Jake Libby cannot hang onto it at gully.

  20. wicket

WICKET: Foakes b Balderson 82published at 16:51 British Summer Time 23 August

    Surrey 346-4 v Lancs 204

George Balderson takes a wicketImage source, Rex Features

Finally Lancashire break this fourth-wicket stand, that was heading into record territory.

Ben Foakes goes to whip a full ball from outside off to leg and gets a slender edge into his off stump.

His best score of the summer but a hundred was there for the taking.
