    Impressive, very impressive.

If they do move above West Indies net run-rate they could afford to lose to them in their final game and still go through, though that will likely mean second place and a meeting with Australia...

66-0 is England's highest powerplay score in their last 30 T20 internationals, stretching back to February 2023, and the last T20 World Cup

It seemed implausible when it was suggested at the halfway stage, but if England can chase down this target in 9.3 overs, they will go above West Indies on net run-rate.

  4. Eng 66-0published at 6 overs

Some more brutal hitting from Maia Bouchier and Danni Wyatt-Hodge, with Kathryn Bryce going for another 11 runs.

England are not wasting their time here.

Maia Bouchier set the tone in the first over.

Poor Rachel Slater very much would like to be on that plane half an hour ago. Even if she bowled a beauty right now, there would still be a strong shot at it.

  7. Eng 51-0published at 5 overs

We all love a drive through the covers, don't we?

This is from the top drawer by Maia Bouchier, though it was a juicy half-volley from Rachel Slater that was asking to be put away.

Bouchier then clubs the next ball through mid-on to bring up the England 50.

    They are not holding back.

  8. Eng 40-0published at 4.1 overs

Wonderful timing from Maia Bouchier as she pounces on a wide ball from Rachel Slater and fizzes the ball through point.

Both Maia Bouchier and Danni Wyatt-Hodge are not pokey batters. They are very much at their best when playing the shots - not being reckless, but just striking it hard.

If they can get this score up to 50 in the powerplay, they will be in a very good position.

  10. Eng 36-0published at 4 overs

This is turning into a nightmare over for Olivia Bell, with Maia Bouchier and Danni Wyatt-Hodge helping themselves to another boundary each.

18 runs off the over. The most expensive so far.

We've seen Olivia Bell take some spectacular catches and that one would've been in the top drawer.

  12. Eng 26-0published at 3.3 overs

First boundary of the day from Danni Wyatt-Hodge as she sweeps aerially over the ring and to the rope.

It is very nearly another caught and bowled chance next ball as Wyatt-Hodge clubs an uppish straight drive that a diving Olivia Bell cannot quite get a hand on it.

Two tight overs now for Scotland. They have turned it around after the first three balls went for 12 runs.

  14. Eng 18-0published at 3 overs

    Target 110

Captain Kathryn Bryce brings herself into the attack, but her radar is slightly off, with England adding two singles from wide deliveries through the off and then leg-side.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge then tests the legs of Maia Bouchier by tapping and running through for another single.

Scotland just pulling things back a touch after that expensive opening over.

When is a wicket not a wicket? When the bails stubbornly refuse to move when hit by the ball, that's when.

Olivia Bell is one of the best bowlers in the Scotland side and she should have taken that catch. But she mistimed it completely.

  17. Eng 15-0published at 2 overs

Just the three singles off that over, but Olivia Bell will rue that dropped catch.

  18. dropped catch

Bouchier dropped on 12published at 1.2 overs

Huge let off for Maia Bouchier!

She rocks onto her back foot and just loops the ball back to bowler Olivia Bell, who dives to her left but cannot hold on.

  19. Eng 12-0published at 1 over

A decent recovery from Rachel Slater, who ends the over with three dots.

Still, that is a wonderful start for England.

That's when Maia Bouchier is at her absolute best - when she's playing balls like that through extra cover or over.
