Good news for England, who are back under way in the evening session.

More good news is that Chris Woakes, who appeared to tweak something before the break, is bowling so any issue there was is nothing too serious.

Ben Stokes is bowling again. Pretty much full tilt.

It's almost run-a-ball 300. There was never any pressure on Harry Brook to change his batting style in this innings because it all came naturally for him. He knew what exactly the Pakistan bowlers were going to do.

It might be a flat wicket, but when you get a triple century, it's always an herculean effort.

The focus for England might now be on finding a way to take another nine Pakistan wickets.

But we have to quickly touch on that innings from Harry Brook again.

Truly remarkable. Just the sixth England player to score a Test triple century.

He's just a bit good. No wonder he's smiling...

Really hoping we get a message back from Harry saying he’s now watching the cricket with Barnaby in his office.

It's hard not to feel a little sorry for Abdullah Shafique.

To come out after 150 overs in the field and get a delivery that hoops away and then nips back considerably... on this pitch?!

No wonder he didn't play for it.

The delivery to dismiss Abdullah Shafique swung 2.31 degrees away before deviating 1.58 degrees in. The Expected Batting Average for that delivery was just 2.8.

    Thanks, Matt.

A busy old session on the stats front and the record-breaking efforts of Harry Brook and England have given them a shot at pushing for an unlikely victory.

The pitch is still incredibly flat but Chris Woakes produced a moment of magic first up, Ollie Pope's side just need nine more...

Whether it's good or not for Test cricket is a debate for another day but that was a thoroughly entertaining session.

Pakistan are under so much pressure. Back of their minds, they'll know they haven't been very strong in their second innings.

It was a dream start for England through Chris Woakes, but they will be frustrated about those two dropped catches, letting off Pakistan captain Shan Masood both times.

  11. Tea - Pak 23-1published at 6 overs

    Trail by 244

A beauty from Gus Atkinson is too good for Shan Masood - so good it misses the edge. There's a slight worry for England as Chris Woakes seems to twinge something fielding the ball but he looks alright as he strides from the field.

There ends another fine session for England.

I like this captaincy from Ollie Pope. If Chris Woakes had bowled that previous over, we wouldn't have got another over. Shoaib Bashir was quick through his over, meaning we get an extra over before tea.

  13. Pak 23-1published at 5.2 overs

This over from Gus Atkinson will be the last before tea.

It's a risky shot to be playing just before the tea.

  15. Pak 23-1published at 5 overs

    Trail by 244

Saim Ayub takes the surprise approach given the situation of an attacking shot hit down the ground. Jamie Smith screams again for someone to catch it but it's well out of danger.

  16. Pak 19-1published at 4.2 overs

Poor Joe Root is fielding at short leg now - with all of that bending and jumping - after his batting efforts.

I sit next to a new fresh faced analyst called Harry, he’s had his headphones in all morning and I wondered if he was listening to this! My advice is to speak to your senior colleagues about cricket more, we might let you watch it…

  19. Pak 16-1published at 4 overs

    Ayub 9, Masood 7

England are attacking but not outrageously so. There are two slips and a leg slip for Gus Atkinson as he bowls this second over.

Re Harry (10.25) I usually pretend I have seen a spider or another bug and move quickly away from my desk. Backfired when Atkinson got his hundred as I tripped on my heels and fell on the floor. Embarrassed but happy.
