This time it's Gus Atkinson off the bowling of Chris Woakes - a reverse of the previous over - who drops a tough one-handed catch.

Can I have some advice on how to stop myself from screaming in the office! Just started working as an analyst in the city and I’m trying to remain calm whilst listening to TMS, so far, that’s not going so well for me.

    Cricket is brilliant, isn't it?

Pakistan have been dragged through the dust for 150 overs and are now right under the pump.

Abdullah Shafique will have been knackered coming out to bat there.

There's not many England fans here but they are making enough noise, aren't they!

  13. Pak 0-1published at 0.2 overs

How scrambled is your head, Shan Masood?

The Pakistan skipper wafts at his first delivery and misses.

He didn't know too much about that, Abdullah Shafique. He is absolutely stunned and looks disgusted by the situation.

He's waited and waited and waited for his turn to bat, but Chris Woakes has knocked over his off stump with the first ball.

    BOWLED HIM FIRST BALL.

Truly sensational. Off stump is out of the ground and England's players are running around celebrating.

Has that moved off a crack? I reckon so.

Pakistan will have to bat as normally as possible. There will be pressure and they will have to look at how they faltered against Bangladesh and Australia. Every time pressure was exerted, they wilted.

So the strategy for England looks simple. They will attack and will want Pakistan to feel the pressure.

  18. Postpublished at 10:15 British Summer Time

The question now is just how demoralised are Pakistan.

England's bowlers are already sensing blood and out for their warm-ups.

Yes, the pitch is as flat as I have ever seen but pressure does funny things.

Pakistan will learn from this and the learnings will be that they will need to prepare a better strip and also for the bowlers to have a bit of a strategy.

From a captaincy point of view, it will be grave reminder for Shan Masood to learn quickly on the job. His confidence will be low after losing five matches in a row.

  20. Some of England's record-breaking numberspublished at 10:12 British Summer Time

    The numbers are truly extraordinary.

    • Harry Brook became England's first triple centurion in 34 years, making their fifth-highest score
    • Brook and Joe Root shared the highest partnership in England's Test history
    • England's total of 823-7 is the fourth-highest in Tests
    • It is England's highest score since the second world war
    • Six bowlers conceded more than 100 runs for only the second time in Tests
    • It was only the third time two players have scored more than 250 in Tests
