Before this season of The Hundred, Sam Hain had never batted below six in a professional T20 match. This year he has betted at seven, eight and even nine for the Trent Rockets.

    Need 46 runs to win

Saqib Mahmood has bowled 10 balls and conceded just four runs, plus he has just executed that run out.

Marcus Stoinis turns down the single from the last ball. He's the Rockets' only chance from here and it's going to take something spectacular.

    Absolutely brilliant from Saqib Mahmood.

Saqib Mahmood aims at the stumps this time, but it pays off!

He fields in his follow-through as the batters try and steal a single to get Stoinis back on strike, turns and throws in one motion and the direct hit sees Ross Whiteley well short.

    Need 47 runs to win

"What are you doing?!" shouts Jordan Cox on the player mic as Sam Billings gives away a single from throwing at the stumps, and the batters run off the deflection.

It does get Marcus Stoinis off strike, though.

Oh here we go! Another maximum. That is two in two for Marcus Stoinis. If anyone can do it in this Rockets line-up it is him.

    Back-to-back!

Short and wide, sent sailing over cover by Stoinis.

Three sixes in five balls for Tom Curran there.

Everything must go at this stage, and Marcus Stoinis clubs Tom Curran for six more!

That is a big hit down towards the pavilion by Ross Whiteley, as Tom Curran just misses the yorker. That is the modern game in a nutshell. The Rockets will need plenty more sixes from here though.

Might as well try and whack a few.

Ross Whiteley sends a fuller delivery from Tom Curran back over his head and into the stands.

It is going to be interesting to see what happens in the next edition of The Hundred with the new investment. The rules around retention will definitely impact the Invincibles next year more than most.

Very muted celebrations from Marcus Stoinis as he drives Sam Curran through the covers for four.

Oval Invincibles have all-but got their hands on the trophy for the third year running.

Adam Zampa is a cagey customer, isn't he?

He has all the tricks to pull the batter around the crease. He isn't letting his balls get into Marcus Stoinis' hitting arc at all.

1-21 from 20 balls from Adam Zampa.

Leg-spin has done the job for the Oval Invincibles this evening.

Oval Invincibles have bowled the spin early to get them out the way, we will largely see pace for the rest of the way now. They have international-quality pace bowlers to see things out from their point of view now.

They will be hoping that's enough to lift their third trophy in a row.

  16. Rockets 88-5published at 30 balls left

    Target 169

Oval Invincibles were 118-2 at this same stage of their innings.

It's been an exceptional all-round effort so far.

    Or not.

Tom Curran bangs it in short and tempts George Linde into taking on the bigger boundary. He only succeeds in picking out Nathan Sowter, who gives a huge celebration!

Is Tom Curran the one they'll target?

His first ball is carved for four by George Linde.

A long way to go for Trent Rockets. Marcus Stoinis is well set now, he has faced a fair few balls, so if they are going to get close to this total then he's going to have to play a large part with everyone else playing supporting roles beside him.

The pitch looks good, maybe it's just skidding on a bit now under the lights. Oval Invincibles are certainly in the ascendency now though.

  20. Rockets 80-4published at 35 balls left

    89 off 35 required.

It's now or never for Trent Rockets. They are going nowhere at the moment.
