  1. Eng 13-1published at 3 overs

The sound of a motorbike engine echoes around the Junction Oval which, of course, gets its name because it is near the St Kilda Junction.

Alyssa Healy is stood up to the stumps but after a series of dots Maia Bouchier advances down the pitch and slaps Megan Schutt for four.

Good intent from the England skipper.

Australia are a team that will fight much like England in that first game. England aren't worried just yet.

    Beaumont lbw b Garth 3 (Eng 8-1)

Tammy Beaumont undoes the straps on her gloves and trudges off.

A lot of moving parts from Beaumont gave her some hope, but she had stepped right across her stumps and the ball-tracking technology shows three reds.

This is gone surely. I'm not sure why that's been given not out.

  5. Australia reviewpublished at 2 overs

Tammy Beaumont is struck on the pad by Kim Garth. Given not out on the field.

How far has Beaumont stepped across here? Is height an issue?

Australia captain Alyssa Healy goes for the review.

  7. Eng 6-0published at 1.4 overs

Kim Garth starts with a couple of wides. England will not mind a few freebies.

A leading edge from Tammy Beaumont, as she attempts to work the ball to leg, spoons up to cover point region, but drops safe.

Jack Rule: That certainly makes for better reading if you’re an England supporter. The fightback is well and truly on. Can England go and have their first ODI win in Australia since 2017 and their first on these grounds? 181 runs to win.

Impressive work on the scoring, as always, Jack.

  9. Eng 2-0published at 1 over

Maia Bouchier plants her foot down and pushes Megan Schutt's third delivery adroitly through the covers for a couple. The ball is stopped just on the boundary. England's chase is up and running.

England have won six games and lost just one while chasing a target between 150-200 in ODIs since the start of 2018. The last time they chased a target around this range against Australia was back in 2011 in Perth where they fell short by 33 runs chasing 185.

It was a stroke of genius by Heather Knight to bring on Alice Capsey. England were a bit short of runs in the first ODI so need one of Heather Knight and Nat Sciver-Brunt to come to the party. England need to capitalise against the seamers early on, I think, given it will be hard against the spinners.

Today, Alice Capsey came in and made things happen. She's proved why she should be bowling here for England.

This is a brilliant bounce back with the ball for England. Heather Knight's captaincy was really good after a testing start. To deliver when they are on the back foot is good, but can they pull it back with the bat now? We are only halfway.

It took an excellent catch from Heather Knight to swing things.

It came just after a drop by Alice Capsey off her own bowling. Had another gone down it would have been a matter of same old story.

Knight clung on and pretty much everything else she did as skipper came off too.

The series won't be over if England lose this game but it will make the series a lot more interesting if they do win. They've put themselves in a good position to take the win.

Lauren Bell finishes with two wickets - the first and the last - but the story is how the spinners changed the game after England's iffy start.

Sophie Ecclestone removed Beth Mooney and then Alice Capsey, unused in the first ODI, dismissed Annabel Sutherland in her first over and Ellyse Perry in her second.

    Australia did not recover.

Well, well, well, what a twist in this second ODI. England needed to bounce back after that first one, Alice Capsey is going to be the main talking point but what a delivery to finish it from Lauren Bell.

    That is that!

Lauren Bell bowls Kim Garth to wrap up this innings. Australia have fallen from 131-2 to 180 all out.

England will need 181 to level the series.
