    De Leede c Miller b Nortje 6 (Ned 32-4)

Another good grab! Bas de Leede's painful stay at the crease comes to an end.

A fast ball from Nortje takes him by surprise, and a leading edge flies towards David Miller at point. He takes a smart diving catch off a cracking piece of bowling.

The Netherlands are in quite a pickle.

  2. Ned 32-3published at 9 overs

Six runs are milked from Keshav Maharaj's first over. It's going nowhere.

Resisting all temptations to break out into a Sting hit... the first person I've seen in the ground this week wearing an England shirt is Phil, originally from Birmingham but now living in New Jersey.

He tells me the beer costs between $12 and $14 dollars in the ground before lamenting the fact England will not be playing here.

"They would have sold the ground out for absolutely certain so it's a bit sad they didn't put an England game here," he says.

Not sure the Big Apple would have made of the Barmy Army.

  5. Ned 26-3published at 8 overs

De Leede and Engelbrecht survive Nortje's first over but only manage three singles from it.

Something's got to give here, lads.

Marco Jansen has had a good day so far.

  7. Ned 23-3published at 7 overs

    Just three from the over.

Netherlands are going nowhere. This South Africa attack really is relentless, when it's their day.

I bumped into the Kaiser family, originally from Johannesburg, outside the ground a little earlier. Like a lot of fans who have attended the games in New York this week they have moved to the United States.

"To have World Cup cricket on our doorstep is amazing," they tell me. "But the best thing about today so far is hearing so many South African accents again. You can go a long time here without hearing one!"

  9. Ned 22-3published at 6.1 overs

It's Rabada again, for now. Not that that's much of a comfort, either.

  10. Ned 20-3published at 6 overs

When you're 20-3, you don't want to see Anrich Nortje warming up, do you?

  12. Ned 18-3published at 5 overs

All-rounder Bas de Leede is in a lot earlier than he'd have liked.

Marco Jansen has 2-11 from his three overs.

He was always going to get out playing that shot. He's tried it a couple of times now. It's well set up and a beautiful delivery from Marco Jansen.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 4.2 overs

    Vikram b Jansen 12 (Ned 17-3)

There's no stopping Marco Jansen today.

The seamer finally gets his second wicket, keeping his foot behind the line this time as Vikram Singh goes for an almighty heave and loses his middle stump.

A poor shot, given the circumstances.

  15. Ned 15-2published at 4 overs

Quinton de Kock practically dived on top of Jansen in the celebrations. Think they enjoyed that one.

  16. 'A serious grab from Jansen'published at 15:50 British Summer Time 8 June

    Alex Hartley

The ball just nips away and that is a serious grab from Jansen. He takes a full length catch. You know it's a good catch when your teammates jump on you. That is a serious catch. We've seen some great fielding at this tournament and that is right up there.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 3.4 overs

    O'Dowd c Jansen b Baartman 2 (Ned 15-2)

    Marco Jansen what a catch!

That'll help him forget about the no-ball. Thick outside edge from O'Dowd and it seems to be flying between the keeper and slip, until Jansen leaps to his left and the ball somehow sticks in his outstretched hand.

That was travelling quickly. A very, very special catch.

I cannot tell you how well Baartman bowled in the last game against Sri Lanka, it was so good.

  19. Ned 14-1published at 3.1 overs

Ooooh. Max O'Dowd absolutely nails a drive from Ottniel Bartman's first ball but Reeza Hendricks pulls off a sensational dive at cover to make it a dot ball.

    Standards.
