JAMES VINCE IS BOWLING!!!!
Surrey 70-3 - target 221
Dom Sibley whips Archie Vaughan into the onside and sets off for a single. Ben Foakes sends him back.
Sibley goes across to sweep and Vaughan strikes him on the front pad, but it's outside the line of off stump.
Maiden. This is getting repetitive.
Surrey 70-3 - target 221
Jack Leach finally leaks a run as Dom Sibley turns the third ball of his 22nd over into the legside for a single.
Ben Foakes then turns Leach into the onside and Brett Randell dives in the deep to prevent the four. They come back for two.
Those trousers will need a wash.
Kent 207 & 268-5 v Hampshire 403
A Kyle Abbott and Mo Abbas-effected new ball blast through Kent's tail and then a run chase of around 100 for Hampshire - or a draw.
They feel like the only two options left at Canterbury.
Tom Price is forward to flick Josh de Caires through mid wicket for one.
Two more needed.
De Caires is round the wicket to Zafar Gohar who blocks.
He tries a sweep off the next ball...
Hammered through square leg for four!
Gloucestershire pick up their second Championship win of the season, moving to fifth in the table and march on to T20 Finals Day with an extra spring in their step.
The winning hit comes from Zafar, who scored a valuable 86 in the first innings.
They've pulled off a victory after falling 68 behind on first innings.
Middlesex tried to force the pace on Wednesday evening before losing their way and collapsing for a second innings 165.
They got off to a great start with the ball this morning, with Ryan Higgins removing both openers early and then Josh de Caires offered renewed hope in the afternoon with three quick wickets when Gloucestershire appeared to be cruising home.
But ultimately they didn't have enough runs on the board and have lost ground to Yorkshire and Sussex in the promotion race with just two rounds of matches left to play.
The top two teams in the table go up and Middlesex are currently third, 15 points behind the Tykes and 36 points behind leaders Sussex.
Surrey 67-3 - target 221
Somerset need a wicket and fast here as Archie Vaughan skips in for his 20th over.
Ben Foakes is happy to kick a few away outside the off stump and then whips the ball to mid on. But refuses the run.
Six dots. The partnership stays at 21.
Surrey 67-3 - target 221
Dom Sibley, rather out of character, looks to drive the miserly Jack Leach and smacks close-in fielder Tom Lammonby on the thigh as he turns his back.
Then normal service is resumed. Defend and repeat. Maiden.
Surrey need 154 runs in a minimum of 26 overs.
A run chase looks unlikely to put it mildly.
Surrey 67-3 - target 221
Ben Foakes to face the first over of the final session from Archie Vaughan.
Foakes steps down the wicket third ball and is beaten. It flicks off the batter and pops up to short point. He spills the ball but there's no bat.
Vaughan then serves up a half-tracker and Foakes says thank you very much, swatting it for four runs.
By the way, Ben Green is the man acting as sub fielder for the injured Tom Banton.
Gloucs 231-6 - target 234
Zafar Gohar drives the ball past leg spinner Luke Hollman and Toby Roland-Jones has dived over the ball.
Four runs.
Single to Zafar and Tom Price unleashes a slog sweep square for four.
The next ball is worked to leg for one.
Zafar tries to finish the job with a reverse sweep and misses.
The ball bounces off the boot outside off stump and dribbles to short leg.
Surrey 63-3 - target 221
Dom Sibley and Ben Foakes walk leisurely out to bat as play resumes at Taunton after rain brought an early tea.
The Somerset players show more urgency and well they might. They need seven wickets for a victory which would really open the door in the title race.
A draw would mean it's as you were, with leaders Surrey holding a 24-point lead over the West Country side with two rounds to play.
It's worth mentioning that Somerset are still in the hunt for three trophies.
They play Surrey again in the T20 Blast semi-final on Saturday, and then meet Glamorgan at Trent Bridge eight days later in the final of the One-Day Cup.
Gloucs 221-6 - target 234
Single to Zafar Gohar off Josh de Caires.
De Caires drags his length down a little and Tom Price works the ball to leg but it has been blocked by Toby Roland-Jones.
13 to win. But we're not superstitious. Are we?
Gloucs 220-6 - target 234
One more before tea and Luke Hollman will bowl.
A looping full toss is punched to extra cover by Tom Price - for no run.
That was waist height and rightly a no ball.
The last ball of the over is wider and slapped through cover for four.
We're playing on for a few more minutes past the scheduled tea break to try and complete the game.
Sensible with the threat of bad weather around.
Kent 207 & 268-5 v Hampshire 403
Jack Leaning (94) and Harry Finch (56) have studiously added 130 and put Kent on the edge of saving this match.
Three overs until the new ball after tea - get through that and it is handshakes at 16:20 BST.
Gloucs 214-6 - target 234
Here comes Josh de Caires - and there goes De Caires! Smashed through cover by Tom Price for four through extra cover!
Not far from the fielder and the ball was tossed up to invite the shot.
Single off the third ball into mid on.
Zafar Gohar gets one worked to leg.
Tom Price gets one of the last ball, pushing a full toss down the ground.
That was very tight but Toby Roland-Jones just misses with the return throw.
Surrey 63-3 - target 221
Good news, cricket fans.
Play is due to resume at 15:20 BST providing there's no more rain.
Fingers and toes crossed. This game deserves a fitting conclusion.
Kent 207 & 267-5 v Hampshire 403
Tom Prest is going to have a go with his off-spin.
He zooms through a tidy over, which goes for only a single.
Hampshire need the second new ball to sing in four overs, otherwise the match as a contest is going to die a very slow death.
Gloucs 207-6 - target 234
Zafar Gohar is half forward to Toby Roland-Jones, pushing square into the off side.
He tries a drive through the off side but is blocked by two fielders in the covers.
Maiden over.
Gloucs 207-6 - target 234
Tom Price opens the face of the bat and dabs the ball from Josh de Caires through backward point on the front foot for two.
He's back and across with a clip to leg but there's no run.
An attempted glance to leg on the front foot is also blocked.
Just a couple from that over.
Tea break minutes away and Gloucestershire are ever so close to the target. The clouds are still gathering...
Gloucs 205-6 - target 234
Toby Roland-Jones has hardly bowled a loose ball all day but he won't be happy with this one, driven off the line of leg stump through wide mid on for four by Tom Price.
That's the innings 200 in 58.1 overs.
Another single into the on side.
Now Zafar taps a leg stump ball through the on side and that will bring three runs.
Single to tom Price scooped to score leg from the crease.
Nine runs off the over. 29 to win.

I'm in North Somerset and we had heavy rain for 10 mins or so and now glorious sunshine again - come on Somerset!
Danny Mac from Wrington
Let's hope you're right, Danny, and the rain relents to allow a thrilling finale...
