Fast bowling in England has really gone up a notch in terms of talent coming through.

  3. Pak 41-3published at 9 overs

    Target 303

Edged... but just short of Amy Jones behind the stumps.

Cross and Bell have been clinical so far. Sophie Ecclestone's left hand must be twitching out there.

  4. Pakistan chasing historypublished at 17:26 British Summer Time 29 May

Pakistan are chasing history because the target of 303 would represent their highest-successful chase in a one-day international.

Their previous best is 245-3 v Sri Lanka in January 2015.

They did make 256-9 in a tied game with South Africa in 2019 and 251-9 in another tied game - which they won in a super over - against New Zealand in December last year.

Pakistan are trying to express themselves more. You can see that intent to get their hands through the ball.

  6. Pak 39-3published at 8 overs

    Target 303

Shot! Muneeba Ali threads a short ball through the covers for four, but it's the only blemish in an otherwise very decent over.

England are finally putting together the complete performance that they've been searching for all series.

  8. Pak 35-3published at 7 overs

    Target 303

Najiha Alvi comes to the middle.

Pakistan are just batting for pride now, it feels.

The angle of the ball was just following her so Zafar ended up being cramped for room and shovelling the ball to mid-wicket.

The shot was on but you have to play it with a straighter bat.

    Zafar c Dean b Cross 13 (Pak 35-3)

    Kate Cross joins the party!

Having started brightly, Ayesha Zafar's innings comes to a tame end, chipping the ball straight into the hands of Charlie Dean who is perfectly positioned at mid-wicket.

303 was always very unlikely but Pakistan are going down with a whimper.

  11. Pak 34-2published at 6 overs

    Target 303

Decent over for Pakistan and Ayesha Zafar.

Lauren Bell offers some width which is driven past point for four, before a sumptuous straight drive ricochets off Kate Cross' diving effort and also reaches the boundary.

Here's how Lauren Bell got her first.

There are some days when you're bowling and nothing goes your way, others when everything does.

Two very similar deliveries and shots. One brings a wicket for Lauren Bell, the other lands safely off Kate Cross.

  14. Pak 25-2published at 5 overs

    Target 303

    Oh, nearly three!

Another leading edge but it falls safely just behind Danni Wyatt and point.

And then there's some more lovely timing to end the over, as Cross strays down the leg side and Muneeba Ali clips it through square leg for four.

That's the sort of delivery that you want when you first come to the crease - a juicy full toss on your pads.

  16. Pak 19-2published at 4 overs

    Target 303

Another successful over for Lauren Bell, a solid bounce back from her disappointment at Derby where she struggled for consistency.

Ayesha Zafar does clip one way for four just to rain on her parade a little.

Any faint, faint hopes Pakistan had of chasing this down probably walk off with Sidra Ameen.

I don't mean to be fatalistic but she is probably the best batter in the team.

Maia Bouchier with a decent catch. She had to wait an age for the ball to get to her.

Pakistan find themselves two down very, very early.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 3.3 overs

    Ameen c Bouchier b Bell 10 (Pak 14-2)

    Bell has both openers!

It's full and straight, Sidra Ameen tries to whip through the leg side but a leading edge loops up to Maia Bouchier at cover instead.

    Pakistan are in a pickle.

Slightly too short, didn't get up but Sidra Ameen did really well to adjust and guide the ball through midwicket.

Straight out of the middle of the bat.
