  1. Join us on Sunday...published at 20:55 BST 16 August

    Thanks for you company today.

Be sure to check out Matthew Henry's match report on a special night for Jordan Cox as Oval Invincibles thrash Welsh Fire by 83 runs...

We will be back on Sunday with more action from The Hundred - the highlight of which is the cross-Pennine derby between Manchester Originals and Northern Superchargers.

The women's game at Old Trafford begins at 11:00 BST and the men's 14:30.

Birmingham Phoenix also host London Spirit on Sunday. The women's game is at 14:30 and then men's 18:00.

Here's some other cricket stories for your attention between now and then:

We were almost willing Welsh Fire on to keep this match interesting, but Oval Invincibles had every blade of grass covered.

We talk about skillset, experience, exuberance and they showed their class again tonight, firstly with the bat. When you are chasing a score like that, everything has to go right.

    Steven Finn
Former England fast bowler on BBC Two

Oval Invincibles were just too good tonight in every facet of the game.

They had Welsh Fire covered, when we looked at the team sheets we did think that was probably going to be the case, but it was also the way they played. They never relented or took their feet off the throats of Welsh Fire. They were ahead all the way through the game.

Even when Welsh Fire fought to get back into the game, Oval Invincibles said no. They looked like the team that has won the past two tournaments.

    Phil Tufnell
Former England spinner on BBC Two

What a knock Jordan Cox had! I've seen a few things, including some good timing and some good hitting, but I haven't seen much better than that.

Oval Invincibles are so strong here at The Oval. They just know how to play the game here, they know the dimensions, what balls to bowl, how to go about chasing and how to set scores as well. They have made this place a bit of a fortress.

As emphatic a victory as you are ever likely to see.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7 balls left

    Singh Dale c S Curran b T Curran 0 (Fire 143 all out)

A debut to forget for Ajeet Singh Dale as he gifts Tom Curran his fourth wicket.

Singh Dale wallops it towards Tom's younger sibling Sam and he plucks it out the air like picking an apple from a tree.

Welsh Fire have certainly been low-hanging fruit this evening.

    Phil Tufnell

Why not go for it? Tom Curran has got a cheeky three outs for 15 runs now.

A good nights work for the bowler.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 8 balls left

    Payne c Sowter b T Curran 1 (Fire 143-9)

David Payne smashes Tom Curran high into the night sky and Nathan Sowter pouches the catch. A much more low-key celebration from the elder Curran - just the mini first pump.

  9. Fire 142-8published at 10 balls left

Some mighty heaves from David Payne and Matt Henry to Rashid Khan but just the one boundary.

  10. Fire 137-8published at 15 balls left

Just the 90 runs off 15 balls required by Welsh Fire.

David Payne and Matt Henry at the crease now.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore has been noticeably more restrained this season. His attacking shot percentage, 60%, is well down from the 72% average of the last two years

Tom Kohler-Cadmore gloves Saqib Mahmood down the leg side and Sam Billings dives to take the catch.

Any Welsh Fire fans in attendance at The Oval still in the ground must be true diehards.

Of course you've got to try and have a go. You have to try to entertain, that's why you're out there. The Hundred is about the big fours and sixes, but it does get a little bit tricky at times.

As a bowler, this is when you want to get on to pick up a few cheapies.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 20 balls left

    Zaib c Billings b Behrendorff 5 (Fire 131-7)

Saif Zaib feathers a bouncer from Jason Behrendorff into the gloves of Sam Billings.

The cameras keep cutting to Jonny Bairstow on the Welsh Fire bench and he has a face like thunder.

That was slightly self-preservation because the ball was absolutely clouted back at him!

What is it with the hands in these dances moves? I can understand the high knees but the hands as well. He likes a move when he gets a wicket.

It has been a tough day at the office for Welsh Fire.

    Steven Finn

You just cannot keep Sam Curran out of the action!

That is a brilliant caught and bowled, a complete reaction catch. The Curran brothers are just turning the screw again for Oval Invincibles.

    A procession now.

Chris Green drills one from Sam Curran straight back at him and the Invincibles all-rounder takes a smart reaction catch.

Curran pouts his lips and does a celebratory dance before tossing the ball over his head.

Spare a thought for Paul Walter.

That guy has to cut his fun short tonight.
