A really good knockaround for Sam Curran. It is always handy to have a left-hander somewhere in your middle order. The left and right-hand combinations always make it difficult for a bowler to get their lines right.

He has a great hand and he has got Oval Invincibles in really strong position here. The real blaster is only just coming to the crease!

  3. 6 runs

    Invincibles 191-3published at 88 balls

Donovan Ferreira is the new batter in!

And he is not waiting around.

He clubs Chris Green for a mighty six from the first ball he faces before adding four more from the very next one.

Invincibles are well on course to cross the 200-mark here.

Jordan Cox adds two more sixes on the board.

  7. 50 runs

50 for Coxpublished at 81 balls

    Invincibles 166-2

Jordan Cox brings up his half-century and what a way to get it!

Jonny Bairstow brings Paul Walter back into the attack but Cox picks his first ball from wide of the off stump and clubs it over for the sixth six of his innings.

HIs 50 comes from just 21 balls!

  8. Invincibles 162-2published at 80 balls

Invincibles continue to play their range of shots.

After the dropped catch, David Payne manages to keep the set boundary-less up until the final ball, which Sam Curran sends one bounce over the rope through extra cover.

To be fair to Ajeet Singh Dale here, he was stood in the one bit of sunshine that has crept into The Oval.

I think it was just in his eyes there. It went flat to him, he had both hands up and he should be gobbling them up.

Perhaps he was thinking about his bowling, as he has disappeared a little bit here.

  10. dropped catch

Cox dropped on 45published at 76 balls

    Invincibles 153-2

Ajeet Singh Dale is having a right day to forget here!

Jordan Cox tries for a reverse sweep off David Payne but hits it straight at Singh Dale, who can't hold on to what should have been a simple catch.

It is absolutely raining sixes here at The Oval!

They aren't just clearing the rope, they are disappearing. We are seeing some clean hitting on what I thought was a pretty tricky pitch.

  12. 6 runs

Sam Curran now joins the party!

He fires back-to-back sixes through the mid-wicket - the second one bigger than the first.

Invincibles can already taste the victory in this game!

Wow - that will be six more for Jordan Cox!

It is caught in the crowd this time, finally! A big celebration. Jordan Cox has given plenty of opportunities into the stands already in this innings.

There is not stopping Jordan Cox!

He slams Chris Green through the cover for a boundary and then sends it for another six - this time over fine leg.

It's caught in the stands by a fan, who enjoyed that.

Jordan Cox is one of the best strikers of the ball. I'm not necessarily talking in terms of power but in terms of the way he times the ball so effortlessly, especially at that range.

He is able to get out that pure swing at chest height, it is amazing to watch.

  16. 6 runs

    Invincibles 124-2published at 65 balls

    What a show!

Jordan Cox brings the set to an end with another maximum - a fourth of the set. But this time, it's a reverse scoop as Ajeet Singh Dale tries a fuller length.

Singh Dale has conceded 46 runs in his 15 balls.

    Carlos Brathwaite
Former West Indies all-rounder on BBC Two

I think there was a little bit of indecision with the ball there.

It is going to be important for Ajeet Singh Dale to decide whether he is going to back into the wicket or take the batter wide.

One of the senior boys needs to get to him and tell him to get Jordan Cox off strike.

  18. 6 runs

    Invincibles 117-2published at 63 balls

Ajeet Singh Dale balls the first set after the strategic time-out.

And we are back again with a big bang as Jordan Cox smokes the pacer for THREE sixes in a row - almost the exact replica of the shot each time!

Singh Dale is being handed a harsh lesson here by the Invincibles batter.

I like the option of the reverse sweep with Jordan Cox, especially when you have got one person behind that point.

Welsh Fire do have a deep cover point out there, but if he cuts it fine enough then it will go through.

  20. Postpublished at 18:45 British Summer Time

Oval Invincibles bowler Nathan Sowter speaking on BBC Two: "We are trying to push ourselves here to get a big title on the board, so losing wickets happens. We want to put pressure on the second innings so the boys started really well.

"We didn't know how this pitch was going to play. We played on it last game and we obviously chased down the total, so we just need to give ourselves a chance. I think we took on the powerplay very well and Sam [Curran] has a bit of time now to get in with Jordan [Cox]. Hopefully we can push in the last 40 balls as well."
