  1. Northants lose early wicket as chase beginspublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 5 April

    Northants 13-1 v Kent Target: 260

A terrible start for the hosts as they lose opener Ricardo Vasconcelos to the 12th ball of the innings.

Keith Dudgeon was moving the ball into the left-handers all match, but Vasconcelos decides to shoulder arms to a good length delivery and gets his off stump rocked back.

George Bartlett joins Luke Procter out in the middle.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 122.1 overs

James Rew c&b Brookes 152 (Somerset 511-5 lead by 357)

Commentator's curse strikes again and there is to be no double hundred for Rew.

Round the wicket from Ethan Brookes and he pings it back into thte bowler's breadbasket. It almost blasts took him off his feet but he held it well to end a great knock.

Great catch to end a great innings.

  3. Will Essex regret the drop catch off Pope?published at 16:58 British Summer Time 5 April

    Essex 582-6d v Surrey 56-1

    Don Topley
    BBC Essex

I'm just wondering if Essex are going to regret the dropped catch off Ollie Pope.

It was Matt Critchley and we're going to forgive him after his performance.

  4. 50 for McCannpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 5 April

Notts 200-2 trail Durham by 178

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Freddie McCann is playing in his seventh first-class match.

He made his debut against Durham last season and has now notched his second 50 against them.

This one came in 93 balls and included seven fours.

He has two centuries to his name, as well and looks the part. Could be a big future in the game for him. He's already played for England Lions, too.

  5. 200 runs

200 up for Nottspublished at 55.5 overs

    Notts 200-2 v Durham 378

Joe Clarke opens the face of the bat and guides Paul Coughlin down the third man boundary for his fifth four.

Clarke has ridden his luck a little but he's up to a brisk 21 and Notts reach the 200 mark.

  6. Division Two round-uppublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 5 April

    #bbccricket

Lancashire have moved into a first-innings lead at Lord's as Australian batter Marcus Harris continues to impress on his debut for the Red Rose.

He's up to 79, off 127 balls, and has shared an unbroken 95-run stand for the fifth wicket with Luke Wells (34*).

They've just eclipsed Middlesex's total of 260 with six wickets still to play with.

Gloucestershire have lost Chris Dent early in their second innings as they look to chip away at a big first-innings deficit in Derby.

Ben Charlesworth has 23 from 27 balls, but the visitors are 41-1 - still 128 runs away from making Derbyshire bat again.

And Ben Green is unbeaten on 25 as he looks to steer the Leicestershire tail to a big lead away to Glamorgan.

The visitors are 321-7 - 92 runs ahead on first innings.

  7. 50 runs

50 up for Surreypublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 5 April

    Essex 582-6d v Surrey 52-1

It has not been free and easy for Surrey but they are ticking along for just the early loss of Dom Sibley.

Essex may still be kicking themselves for dropping Ollie Pope when he had only made nine as he pulls Jamie Porter away to the deep-square leg boundary

  8. Postpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 5 April

    Warks 133-1 v Sussex 528

Ollie Robinson catches the edge of Hamza Shaikh's bat and the ball races away to the deep-third rope once again.

I have lost count of the number of runs Warwickshire have scored down there.

The run rate is a very healthy 5.28.

  9. 50 runs

50 for Freddie McCannpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 5 April

    Notts 189-2 v Durham 378

Freddie McCann made his senior debut against Durham last August and has made a superb start to his career.

The 19-year-old already has two first-class tons to his name and is up and running as he looks to avoid second season syndrome.

Now he is chasing a third ton after bringing up his half-century off 93 balls with a lovely straight drive down the ground off Paul Coughlin.

It's the second time he's reached fifty against Durham.

  10. 150 runs

150 for James Rewpublished at 117.5 overs

    Somerset 505-4 (lead by 351 runs) v Worcs 154

James Rew crashes Ethan Brookes for the 14th four of his innings and reaches his midi-milestone, three quarters of the way to a double hundred.

With Somerset looking comfortable and Worcestershire flagging in the Taunton sunshine, you could only get short odds on him emulating partner Tom Banton with a double.

  11. Postpublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 5 April

    Essex 582-6d v Surrey 42-1

Ooohs and aahs at Chelmsford as Shane Snater draws a false stroke from Rory Burns but the outside edge flashes away down to the third-man boundary.

  12. Postpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 5 April

    Notts 184-2 v Durham 378

Joe Clarke is dealing in boundaries and sends successive deliveries from Paul Coughlin to the fence to move to 16 - all in fours.

He sees out the rest of the over from his former team-mate and the deficit is down below 200.

  13. Evening session begins at Trent Bridgepublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 5 April

    Notts 176-2 v Durham 378

We're up and running again in Nottingham in what could be a pivotal session in this match.

A good session against tirign bowlers and Nottinghamshire could be a good way to wiping out this deficit, while a late clatter of wickets will out the visitors right on top.

Scoreboard pressure remains on their side for the time being.

Freddie McCann was caught in two minds soon after the interval and almost chops Matthew Potts' delivery onto his own stumps.

He picks up two before a thick edge flies over Emiliano Gay at gully to go to 46.

Not where it was intended by any means but it brings him within four of a second first-class 50.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 5 April

    Davies c Hudson-Prentice b Seales 66 (Warks 116-1 v Sussex 528)

    Alex Davies gives it away.

Jayden Seales digs one in short and Davies plays a T20 shot by trying to guide it over the slips and down to the boundary.

He achieves the first part of that but Fynn Hudson-Prentice is waiting at backward point to take the catch.

  15. Postpublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 5 April

    Warks 112-0 v Sussex 528

Off we go again at Edgbaston.

We may be at a still relatively early stage of the game the way things are going it is difficult to see either side forcing a win here.

Neither attack looks to have 20 wickets in it.

I stand to be corrected though.

  16. Tea at Northamptonpublished at 16:26 British Summer Time 5 April

    Northamptonshire 143 v Kent 231 & 171

Northants have fought back well at what was beginning to look like a hopeless situation at home to Kent.

The visitors were 61-0 in their second knock at lunch, leading by 149 runs, but three quick wickets from Raphael Weatherall sparked a mini collapse as Kent subsided to 115-7.

But Joey Evison batted sensibly with the tail, bringing up his fifty off 87 balls before he fell, last man, for 52 as Kent were bowled out for 171 to set a target of 260 to win.

  18. 'A fine innings fromYates'published at 16:19 British Summer Time 5 April

    Tea: Warks 112-0 v Sussex 528

    Melinda Farrell
Sports broadcaster/journalist on BBC Radio WM

It's been a fine innings from Rob Yates in partnership with Alex Davies.

He's scored the bulk of his runs in that area between point and third.

That's his 13th fifty in first-class cricket and neither of this opening pair look particularly troubled by too much at the moment.

  19. Postpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 5 April

    Essex 582-6d v Surrey 28-1

We are back out after tea at Chelmsford with 32 overs to be bowled in the day.

Shane Snater is getting his first bowl in the game.

  20. Tea at the Utilita Bowlpublished at 33 overs

    Yorks 92-3 & 121 (trail by 36 runs) v Hants 249

Yorkshire manage to keep it together until tea with Jonny Bairstow (25) and Adam Lyth (13) unbeaten at the end of the second session.

Bairstow took a risk or two but Lyth, with 13 off 103 deliveries played the straight man.

Much more needed for Yorkshire to regain any sort of decent hold in this contest but they have made a small step.
