    Somerset 105-7 v Glos

Make that two in two balls!

Craig Overton goes for a first-ball duck, prodding forward to a slower delivery that loops up on the off side for the Gloucestershire skipper to take the catch.

  2. 'Hoisted by his own petard!'published at 19:47 British Summer Time 14 September

Green just tried to turn it onto the onside but played with the bat too far around and got to it too early.

The catch just lobbed up easily to backward point.

Ed Seabourne: Done by a change of pace - hoisted by his own petard!

Back comes David Payne - and Gloucestershire are among the wickets again!

The left-armer's first ball of his over foxes Ben Green, who gets a leading edge and the ball sails up into the hands of backward point.

  4. Postpublished at 15 overs

    Somerset 105-5 v Glos

Not Lewis Gregory's cleanest stroke as he bundles a short ball from Tom Price to the long leg boundary, but it's enough to lift the Somerset score into three figures.

That's a good stint from Price, though - he finishes his four overs with figures of 1-22.

Johnny: James Bracey surely worth another look for an England squad in the future? His game is so much better than previously, he seems a great character for a touring squad.

Do not forget that incredible hitting from Ben Green, Josh Davey and Craig Overton in that semi-final v Hampshire in 2021 when they were down and out with the Hawks seemingly cruising to the final.

All three are playing tonight, one currently at the crease, the latter two still to come, plus the man Ed Seabourne just mentioned.

    Somerset 96-5 v Glos

So much resting on Lewis Gregory, you feel - and the Somerset skipper responds by pulling another straight drive for six out of the locker against Tom Smith.

Six overs left - can Gregory steer his side to a winning total? He's on 39 from 25 balls.

They still have van der Merwe, who was responsible for that 'van der Murdering' a couple of years ago, from nowhere in that reduced overs game in Bristol.

But there is a lot of pressure on Lewis Gregory now with mostly just hitters left to bat alongside him.

  9. Postpublished at 13 overs

    Somerset 86-5 v Glos

Excellent over from Tom Price, whose first ball to Ben Green whizzes past the outside edge.

Just three runs and the crucial wicket of Tom Abell to boot.

    Another wicket given away.

Another batter throwing it away when the partnership was just getting going.

The partnership had reached 44 - but now it's ended and Tom Price picks up his first wicket of the final!

Price tempts Tom Abell with a slower ball and he punches it a little tentatively to long-on, where Cameron Bancroft does the honours.

  12. Glos' other left-armer 'outstanding' so farpublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 14 September

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

If Somerset can somehow plunder 80 runs in the last eight overs that can keep them in the game, but they will have to go at 10s, that is a lot of hard work to get there.

Mark Davis: Matt Taylor has been outstanding, 3-12 from three overs. Payne expensive by his standards.

  13. Postpublished at 12 overs

    Somerset 83-4 v Glos

Back comes Matt Taylor to try and stem that sudden flow of runs and the left-armer does the job, varying his pace and length.

Six runs from Taylor's third over and Gloucestershire won't mind that at this stage.

  14. Postpublished at 11 overs

    Somerset 77-4 v Glos

    Lewis GregoryImage source, Rex Features

In last year's final, Somerset successfully defended 145 - so they may feel a similar kind of total would give them a decent shot at retaining their title.

It's same again from Tom Smith, who doesn't give the batters a great deal of room - until Lewis Gregory dances down the track and slams him over the top for six.

Gregory adds four off the next ball and Somerset take 14 from the over, their most productive for quite some time.

  15. When do Somerset 'go?'published at 19:27 British Summer Time 14 September

    Mark Davis
Former Somerset seamer on BBC Radio Somerset

Gloucestershire sitting in at the moment, not really attacking, the four men in the ring are not really squeezing the singles.

It is just a question of when Somerset decide to go that little bit harder.

Six or seven overs to go they might start to really push it.

    Somerset 63-4 v Glos

    Tom PriceImage source, Rex Features

That's the halfway stage in this first innings and safe to say Gloucestershire will be the happier of the sides.

Tom Price concedes a boundary from the first ball of his over, steered through point by Lewis Gregory, but recovers well.

  17. 'Somerset still fighting, they have that spirit about them.'published at 19:24 British Summer Time 14 September

    Mark Davis
Former Somerset seamer on BBC Radio Somerset

Tom Abell is not finding the gaps at the moment, usually that is his main strength, but he is hitting fielders.

Hopefully that struggle is not hurting him mentally as they need him to have a big innings here.

The game is not over yet, Somerset still fighting, they have that spirit about them.

  18. Postpublished at 9 overs

    Somerset 56-4 v Glos

Somerset are just looking to accumulate for now, with veteran left-arm spinner Tom Smith joining the attack for the first time in this innings.

It's a good opening over for Smith, who concedes five singles.

  19. Postpublished at 8 overs

    Somerset 51-4 v Glos

Two for the Price of one... now seamer Tom joins his brother Ollie in the bowling attack.

Tom's first over goes for three - and for a moment the Glosters thought they might have another wicket too but Abell made his ground before Jack Taylor's throw from point hit the stumps.

Gloucestershire will be delighted with the way things have gone so far, but they'll be very keen not to let this experienced pair of Tom Abell and Lewis Gregory settle.

Gloucestershire have had some misery against this Somerset side in the recent past.

Somebody always seems to find a way to get runs for Somerset even down the order.

Until this year when Gloucestershire won both meetings, Somerset had won the previous six T20 Blast meetings.
